I never been in the army, but I have been diagnosed wit PTSD due to childhood trauma. Is so love the lyrics of this song. Floor did a wonderful job to emphasize on the strength of human’s to overcome traumatic experiences. Her beautiful and powerful voice is perfect to deliver such an important message. 🙋♀️💕

I have PTSD from kidnapping, rape, abuse, domestic violence....and I still searching for myself. By the way, I got pregnant in that time and I have a son from 23 years old. I don't regret it that I kept him. He didn't asked for it. Me neither, but I was the adult.

@@majbrat I'm convinced that someday I'm gonna be okay. It's a struggle, its falling down and standing up. No therapy, just me and my ptsd cat. She wakes me up when I have a nightmare, licking my face until I'm fully awake. She puts on the light, and when I have a bad day she is here for me. She is a very special cat.
Thank you for sharing your story Maria. I am so terribly sorry that you had to endure all of that. I think your story and your fight can help a great many other people that may be suffering from the same thing. I'm sure you are bringing that young man up the right way as well. You are the definition of strong. Words don't even do it justice, so I will end by saying. This community and it's members make me beyond proud. We may come from different walks of life, but we are a treasure trove of knowledge and compassion. Sending you all of the positive vibes that I can right now. Nothing but love my dear. My daughter suffered from PTSD for a while. She safed the live of a classmate from drowning. She is training to be a lifesaver/part of the many water rescue services (reddingsbrigade’s) there are in the Netherlands. So she learned how to rescue her. She didn’t waited and jumped out of her canoe and swim to her classmate how jumped in to the water with clothes on. And that was to havy for her to swim and she started drowning. My daughter saw the fear in her eyes while she koalas to my daughter for dear live and there for nearly drowning my daughter to.
My daughter had therapy and now she can preform her sport livesaving again.

Wonder, wonder, wonderful song with strong and meaningful lyrics.
Have been working in social psychiatry for 45 years, and seen and treated many women and men suffering from PTSD.
Because of war trauma (during my military service) or because of instant trauma (robbery, heavy accident) mental, physical or sexual abuse.
An important factor in treatment, imho, was listening to or making music. Metal, rock, pop, jazz, blues, classic or whatever, it was of no importance. Music was relaxing, cleared even the mind and lessened pain.
And what I read in many comments is hoe Floor's and Nightwish' music has a kind of healing effect.
I myswlf get in in state of total relaxation listening to Floor and?or Nightwish.
And good pop, rock, jazz and classic music is equally appreciated!
You are one of the channels I turn to first. Your are a true empath (as Floor is). And I like that you stream more than just music, you are a true variety streamer. Thank you for all that you do. You really explain things and lift me up. This was wonderful.

This song is so awesome for everyone going through a hard time dealing with any mental illness or recovery. I know it is close to the heart for Floor, so it is great she might inspire others or strengthen their resolve with this empathetic song.

As long as children get murdered and cut up in pieces and put in a garbagebag ,just for the honor of a family...nightmares
Children (abuse) people traumatized by burger, assault...so many people suffer in silence from PTSD. I would love to sleep without nightmares, 100 scared komen te a day...many years after years of childabuse. It wil never go away.

One Question, know you Floors Song for War Child. There are two Versions ,durch and english.
From a purely melodic point of view, I find this song the most generic of all her solo songs so far ... a pleasing pop song, pleasant, but nothing that burns itself into your brain. A bit like a blanket, wrap yourself up and feel good.
BUT ... if you pay attention to the lyrics and how Floor sings them .... AND are affected in some way (self, family, friends, etc) ... THEN this deceptively simple song will blow you away ... it somehow makes you cry and smile at the same time. For me, this is Floor's sneakiest solo song yet ... comes along quite inconspicuous ... but can (not must) make you completely upset.
If the subject doesn't concern you in any way ... easy listening, not bad, but nothing demanding either. If the topic concerns you .... BANG!
By the way, the album seems to have an overriding theme so far ... Mental Health!
