Small piece of advice to all of you watching this. I went from having twigs to tree trunk legs. The biggest change i made was not following bodybuilder type advice for legs. Olympic weightlifters and powerlifters have way more impressive legs. Their training principles for leg hypertrophy and strength are easily superior to bodybuilding principles
“Leg hypertrophy”… you mean, like bodybuilding? Think you may be confused. Working out to maximize muscle hypertrophy is bodybuilding. They are the same thing.

The belt is still useful while using a smith machine when you are going to that depth with such a heavy weight. You must’ve never squared with heavy weight on a smith machine or barbell because it doesn’t matter if the smith machine is stable or not
Y’all Chris’s routines are meant for dialing in the shape and tone of the mass he alr has. These routines aren’t necessarily the best for younger lifters in terms of growth. Yes he grows off them but his training isn’t made with size as the #1 goal. He’s too close to not being able to make weight already
Working sets are the sets after your warmup sets, they are the only ones that count for hypertrophy, since your body is not sufficiently warm in the warm up sets

Regular squats require stability and cardio to be performed, both of which will give out way before your quads do. So, for hypertrophy of the quadriceps muscles themselves, squats are not the best option out there (machines are, like pendulum squats, leg presses and extensions, etc.), that said, if you aim for overall leg hypertrophy, and not just the quads, regular bar squats can be a good option, for they target the adductors and glutes very very well too. My point being: cbum probably doesn't do squats in this particular workout because it is for quad hypertrophy and not overall leg hypertrophy
