1996 Olympics was the best by far with amazing gymnasts....but no one like Kim , passion and power combined , undoubtedly a super gymnast, a legend.... Love her beam routine the most, and floor ❤
i know right. While I understand that overtime the code of scoring needed to be updated, its a shame that it with the additional requirements of specific leaps and jumps that is sacrificed the dancing elements that floor routines had pre 2000s.

I would say there were probably more injuries back then, than there are now actually. A lot of coaches, like the Karolyis, didn't care if their gymnasts were injured. Even if they had a broken ankle or even a broken back, they still made the gymnast compete. They would push the girls way too hard, and would starve them. People wonder why gymnasts back then were always so skinny and looked really young, it's probably because when you're that young and that skinny, you don't go through puberty until way later.
What she’s doing here is not easy just because she makes it look easy. If you ask me, it was harder overall back then because not only did they have to do all flips and tricks, but they had to have poise, artistry, and always stick their landings. Today’s gymnastics only focuses on flips and tricks. It’s a bit boring in comparison to the era of Kim Zmeskal gymnastics.
She rocked the crap out of that routine!!

Back when gymnastics was more dance. In 2019, it’s straight muscle and all tumbling!

Her second pass with the three whips and a double back was groundbreaking. She was an amazing gymnast.
A great gymnast. What a great pleasure to watch.
Man, Kim was bad ass! I remember watching this! Time has flown by...memories...

Good to have a throw back to Kim! OMG such a talent, great routine and still is relevant in this time.
Amazing!
Awesome
I loved Kim's floor routine.
Perfection! Those landings are rock solid, especially after the full in!
Actually it's called a full out

😀😀💓💓Kim.
Wow
Did she just performed a triple whip?
To a double back. Arguably, the most difficult pass ever in 1991.
Loved the routine missed gymnastics being easy like that and not so complicated like today .
Um it's better when its hard.
CamColeParker but easier to get injured
DUDE WTF THESE SKILLS ARE NOT EASY, but they look simple

what is the name of the song that she is preforming to
In the Mood
"In the Moon" by Glenn Miller (1941)
I miss the back step
She was a powerhouse. The gymnasts today got nothin on Kim.
There have been several who are just as powerful. No need to demean those of today like a child.
Lol yes, those double backs required so much power. Please. The power of today is way greater than this.
I wish she smiled
Insipid routine
Yeah, she used a silly choreo and a energic music but she seemed so fucking bored, good tumbling tho
