I miss the United States of Amanar. If they can do it, why give up the .4 SV upgrade over the double? Seems like poor strategy to me in a sport where hundredths of points matter.
I hear you, but there are potential deductions from adding the half twist so they lose E but make up D. Who knows maybe they can’t do it like we think they can. Gymnasts tend to post their best takes on social media so it might not always look like that.
@@GymnasticsSavesLives well assuming people can at least land it consistently without falling (not necessarily well), the deductions on vault are much smaller than the other apparatuses.
I miss Amanars too, but they're not worth the training time, risk of injury and potencial deductions anymore. You see, lot of girls did FTYs and lot did DTYs, but very few did 1.1/2s, adding an extra half to blind landing is hell.
The reason that a lot of USA gymnasts don't do the Amanar is because they don't need to. The US has been so dominant that our team doesn't need them to win. When we are beating other countries by 2-3 points couches and the USAG are not requiring it for making the team. Marta and Bela were a stickler for that Amanar vault. With the leadership change the expectations have changed.
@@catherinegee2741 I love Simone's Cheng. She just FLIES with it. While the **BILES II** is obviously the goal, I just love watching her do her Cheng and almost land off the mat! And putting up a 6.4 and 5.6...even if she falls on both, makes her pretty untouchable!
@@toda2638 Simone wouldn't win with 2 falls. Plus I have never seen a healthy Simone fall on a Cheng. The DBL Pike on the other hand is very easy to over rotate and a fall is possible. I doubt she will do that again but who knows. I think Jade is the third best vaulter in the world behind Simone and Rebecca. I like Jade but she tends to be very sloppy in her form.
on floor Simone brough back her triple twisting double back which is the Biles 2 on Floor. She also competed her Biles 2 vault which is the Yurchenko double pike.
Yes, her start value is higher. Even though other gymnasts stuck the landing better Simone’s start value is so high that even with the deductions she still wins.
@@GymnasticsSavesLives Addendum to my question: which counts for more, execution or difficulty? One reason I like College gymnastics so much is that the emphasis seems to be on clean routines over difficulty. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
@@lflagr Both execution and difficulty are counted towards the gymnast's score. I think the idea is to balance difficulty and execution. In college no matter how hard your skill or routine is it can only start out of 10. In elite there is no limit to scores.
the amanar is only worth 4 tenths more than a baitova this quad and in the Tokyo quad. In the London quad it was 7 tenths more, in the Rio quad it was worth 5 tenths more.
Watching these all in a row like this, I can see how the better runners fare better when they vault.
You can really see the power of Simone when compared like this. The height off the vault and the distance is insane! 👏🏻
12:17 Just look at SHILESE 💜 JONES gracefully presents herself before she even begins her strong run and beautiful DTYurchenko vault! 👏
I love Josc but she really needs to clean up those bent legs and get more amplitude. I don’t want her getting injured again ugh
Thank you for taking the time to do this!
i feel like some of these could improve by running better
Simone Rose is so beautiful. Her Leo was too!
That was a very interesting way to watch the vault as it progressed to the elite gymnasts! Cool video!
These video summaries are so good! Thank you so much.
Thank you
Since the 16 Rio Olympics…. I always wonder what time Simone Biles could run the 100 yard dash in?????? Sooo quick
ONCE SHE'S DONE WITH COMPETITION...she should challenge her husband!
She would be at a distinct disadvantage due to her height, though she is massively strong. She is amazing.
Jade Carey, Sun Lee and Childs, wow!!! Their vaults are beautiful and clean. Biles difficulty is out of this world.
I love the way this was organized too!!! Thanks so so much for posting!!!
I certainly am no gymnast but the second girls running technique is so goofy 😩
This video shows how Simone Biles is in a league of her own
These early ones are legit doing the same exact vault.
Saved the best for last!
Brava Sabrina Visconti👏👏👏🇮🇹

Tatum s Leo and vault were buetiful
Come on Trinity!
I feel like Suni was underscored
All vaults were underscored. But Sunis kind of overscored if you compare it with all the other FTYs.
Vault scoring was harsh
Superbe.🌷
Got along way to go “ There Good”👍
*They’re good!*
I could tell by the way the first girl was running that it wasn't going to be right.
Jade Carey did the best out of anybody.
jade carey’s vaults were 3rd and 4th best
Come on. The only reason she won the vault is because Simone didn't do her Cheng. Jade is clearly behind Simone.

Did Leanne the half-on half twist instead of her DTY as first vault?
no it was her second vault. She placed 3rd on vault

I love Joscelyn, but she needs to improve her body shape. The movement doesn't look very plastic, it's visually ugly.
I don’t understand how she got the scores she did. Her form was atrocious and she seemed under rotated on her second vault.

Exactly.
No other female gymnast in the world does the skill Simone did.
Yes, her start value is higher. Even though other gymnasts stuck the landing better Simone’s start value is so high that even with the deductions she still wins.
Yes, but Simone usually has the best execution as well as difficulty

They value their knees.
