- I was lucky enough to be invited for a trip to target the notorious chum salmon before they get close for fishing. For the first time, i would say this was a fun and exiting experience. The salmon were very bitey and gave us all a fun and action-packed day
If you were to take anything from this video, please note that you have to treat these fish with respect. Notice that fish were out of the water for a very short time for picture and handling. You do not need to unhook it out of water (keep the gill wet). And please bring net when fishing for these monster, your fish handling skill will determine whether we have a future of targeting these amazing species.

Nice edit of this day. Really shows that we can get nice pictures and memories while keeping the fish out of the water for as little time as possible. Great first person uncut clip too of us, preparing for the picture fish in water in the net to releasing the fish.
Glad you enjoyed it!! This is definately a video i will come back and rewatch for memory. As for handling, thats just how you do it! Especially with the low return this year but them surviving and spawning would also mean we get to enjoy catching them in the years to come

Ofc! That’s how it should be out there. Mutual respect between human and fish. Especially salmon such as chum where the survival of their egg this year is so so important for how they will do the upcoming year and whether or not we and even new people coming to the province actually have a chance to target these amazing species

@@AAtonyAA oh lol, i didnt know that. Do you think its rlly haunted or people just see a bunch of zombie fish and call it haunted 🤷♂️ or its a way to scare people from taking their spot at first light lol. I wonder if any fisherman saw something when they get there at 4-5am
@@THFlyFishing idk i dont think its haunted the other guy commenting does but there might be some bears around at 4 or 5 to give you a scare lol
