    I just watched your video. I am impressed with your skills. The control box cannot shock and you made me laugh while you were pounding in the nails with the spanner 🔧, good job.

      @@AlexMarieDIY The goal is to capture 8mm film to a video. The stepper controls the film transport and pauses long enough at each frame to take a high quality picture. Then the 1000s of separate images are re-assembled into a movie. It is still a work in progress, but you can see it in action here. czcams.com/video/HN7tK0YsA-k/video.html

    Thank you for the video. It’s very helpful as I’m planning to change from clutch to a servo motor. Did you add a needle synchronizer?

      @@annemariealexa9195 I get them from the shops that sell sewing machine accessories or those that sell used sewing machines.

    Nice job, Alex Marie, congratulations! Just one thing though, you are panning the camera too fast, a bit slower would be better.

    Did you order a certain model of servo motor to work with your machine or is servo motor universal please

    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  Před 2 lety

      No, I didn't order a specific model per se, but I did check with the seller that it would be compatible with my model of machine. They do come in different wattages and voltages, so you have to consider that.

    Where did you buy your servo motor

  • @felixsebastian1316
    @felixsebastian1316 Před 4 lety +1

    What is the difference between servo and clutch motor?

    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  Před 4 lety +2

      This is my layman explanation, so don't quote me. They simply work differently. The clutch generally is always running even when you are not sewing, and it's very noisy, plus it does not have variable speed control. The servo works like the motor on a domestic sewing machine, it's silent, only runs when you apply the pedal, and has variable speed control, so you can sew very slowly. They both have similar wattage from what I've seen, but since the servo doesn't run continuously, it conserves more power.

    That motor look like a toy. It is strong to sew heavy fabrics?

    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  Před 4 lety

      It's small but mighty... It works fine on a standard single needle lockstitch machine. What kind of fabric do you have in mind?
