- Installation of a servo motor without flipping the table over or removing the sewing machine. I step you through the entire process for a servo motor that came with no instructions. This one has a needle positioner, so we also learn how to set the position so that it works correctly for your industrial machine.
These motors may not last as long as that old clutch motor.
Warning! The old clutch motor is very heavy, it will hurt you!

It was really touching to hear about your father. Thank you for sharing his trade with us.
Thank you so much for posting this video, it gave me the confidence to replace my old noisy clutch motor and I wouldn’t be able to without your video 😊❤
thank you Wes. I too am using the same machine my father once used. it is truly special and an honor. I appreciate you and the help you have given me. I have installed a servo motor and my pops machine and it has taken on a new life. I too have found new joy as an upholsterer. Thanks again!
I have two machines with servo motors. One is a brushed type and the other is brushless with needle positioner. I found that putting a smaller pulley (40mm) very helpful for low speed control on both of them. Especially on the brushless, when it comes on it's still a little too fast.
What is the difference between the two ??? I ordered a bushless for my singer 281-1 it had original motor on it and it was crazy fast I used my sewing machine guys and it was like driving a Cadillac!
Thanks so much for making this video, I thought I was going to have to take my whole machine apart. You’re so detailed and through in explanation. God bless
Thank you so so so much for this video! I was intimidated to switch my own motor but you made it so very easy to do!
I just bought my first vintage industrial Hercules is 555 ($50) that from why I have learned is a clone of the juki ddl 555. I eventually want to switch to a servo so this is a perfect video! Thank you!!
Great work tuning in for a final view ready to install the Consew Premier 3000. Thanks for the instructional video.
I love those Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches. Autozone just had a sale for an 8 piece metric set for $30. Of course to complete the set you have to pay through the nose for the single ones in the odd sizes like 16, 11, 18, 14, etc.
AWESOME info! salute from UK
You r very much appreciated in sharing hi owvt repair our sewing machines
Thanks
Thanks for the video. We just received the new brushless motor and I was prepared to remove the head. Now i think I am going to do it your way.
Thank you for making this one. I just bought the same machine in a private sale from an upholsterer. Except mine says Yakumo. The pedal is very touchy, so much in fact that I need to install a servo to slow it down.
Did your new motor reduce the speed enough to control easily? Or should I look into a speed reducer as well? I use mine for leather.
One more thing, I think that the slotted bracket for the synchronizer slides into the synchronizer and you are supposed to find a threaded hole in the head of the machine to screw the threaded rod into then it goes through the slot. No bending required. However, in the absence of instructions, I think the way you mounted it is very clever. And, it works, so that's all that matters.
what size allen wrench for the screws?
Excelente explicación gracias por compartir eres un genio bendiciones
I appreciated your closing comments, re your dad.
was about to comment the same sentiment. I love the share of knowledge at the end there.
Hi, thank you for the video. What foot pedal are you using?
great, i have been strugling with needle position long time now. you helped
The cameras look great!
Thank you for showing how to do this. I want to order the servo motor but have a question. I have a Singer 95-10, my mom's, and a Consew 104. Do you think I can switch out a servo motors them. I finally got the Singer belt on correctly and it goes super fast. Still working on getting the Consew to go. Thanks. I'm a new subscriber.
Hi sewing machine guy, I just got a Mitsubishi CU- 865, and I need a cerci motor. Can you recommend the type I need? It’s an older model not new. It’s the same color as the machine in this video. Thank you so much, and I will be following your instructions on installing the new motor. Your very good in instructions.
I have my moms industrial. My mom did all those same things. She was a heck of a lady. Wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. The machine is a Brother DB2-B755-3. It doesn’t have a walking foot, unfortunately. I cleaned and painted the legs. Top is in real good shape. I cleaned up the machine changed the oil and it runs like a champ, just too dang fast. 4000 spm. 😮 too fast for me. This has been very helpful. A less expensive option and I can keep my moms sewing machine. Thanks
Do you think you could have adjusted the motor position in order to avoid having to get a new new belt? Thanks
Sir, is the speed control proportional?.
Good video, good story! Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I do have a question, I have a Juki MO 6700 Serger. Can it’s motor be switch to a servo one? Thank you I’m advance.
So how long will this motor last? I am changing three and wondering if this was a bad idea.
There is an L-shaped bolt that positions the motor just like your clutch motor. It fits into a hole in the base and connects to the motor bracket with what they call a "connector". I'm sure you had these pieces left over. There are also five fender washers that you neglected to install on the large bolt that holds the motor. They go between the motor bracket and the base and you must use them to get the L-shaped bolt to align with the connector. Don't ask how I know this, just trust me. Otherwise you did a nice job installing it and aligning it. I enjoy your channel.
I install 4 on my diff machines, . You are right. (4 more to go)
Ite way he install the needle pos was 100% wrong.
I am so tire of seeing people showing others how to do something and cannot even have the right tools (channel locks instead of open wrenches or sockets)
He should had 2 all thread bolts of diff size. The bracket he bent went on the needle pos, and a all thread bolt went into the machine . Then he locked it in place through the bracket (the one he bent) with 2 nuts...no bending
Thanks for the help! Making it look easy lol.
Thanks Luke! Glad you could get it done. You are awesome!
Thank you Bro!!!!
Hi! Please help. What did I do wrong, my Juki with servo motor starts running as soon as a I turn it on without even touching the pedal. Thanks for your help and video.
Would you happen to have the instructions for that control unit? I have the same one, and am not able to get my needle position sensor working. There is a bunch of settings if you hold down the R button, but I have no idea what they are for with no manual? Thanks in advance.
Great video thanks SMRGuy!
I'm going to throw one of these servo motors on my Singer 211G166 after seeing your video, this is going to make my twitchy throttle foot way smoother!
Do you think this size of 3/4hp (550w) would be beefy enough for the Singer 211? Looks like it should be ...
Did you get the motor on your machine? I'm just getting to do mine after it siting in it's no for 3 years. I also have a Singer 211 G 146 and the servo is a 550 watt also.
How does your machine work with it on?
I've exactly the same machine, nakajima, would you use a 800w servo?
I'm thinking on changing all my motors to servo, any brand in particular? I sew mostly denim 14 oz and leather, and all my machines are industrial, but just work 1 or 2 hours everyday
Can it b posible that a manual be converted to high sppeed by adding servo
I got an old pfaff 487 and i'm installing a servo motor from sewmaq.
Where do i screw to groundig cable onto that is coming from my sewing machine ?
I have installed a servo motor installed, but where can you buy lights to install to the motor, or can you connect to the motor ? Thank you
Did you end up finding some lights? Some which can be connect ed to the controller?
Can you tell me where you got the motor and belt?
Thinking of getting one of these myself, how does this hold up two years later?
Thx brother
You can adjust the speed, right?
did you have to program the drive or was it programmed by the manufacturer
I did not do any programming.
I have a (Brother) Industrial machine. Will the Servo fit mine?
Also….
My clutch motor SCREECHES like nobody’s business when I press the pedal to start sewing. It drives me NUTS!
What’s wrong with it? I can’t figure it out. Thank you for your video. It was very informative and interesting. I’m considering purchasing
a Servo Motor.
Joanie (from MN)
Hello, what is the minimum speed that the servo can operate
400
Thanks
:O You looked like a pro until you pulled out that Briar-Hopper Tool Box at 25:20......
You are indeed a great teacher. Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge with humanity. God bless you richly in Jesus' name
Great video. Where do you buy the belts from?
Did he reply?
Nope
What more if it is reversing instead of going forward what do l do
How do I get it slow enough to sew stitch by stitch?
Cool guy
it is good
I’ve got one coming, but I didn’t see a brake or any connection to the pedal for a brake. That’s not going to be good, I’m used to having a brake.
Where does one learn to service sewing machines/become a sewing machine mechanic?
I can help you out please
Kudos for the Bible scripture. I’m all for it.
Electric diagram plz...
What will l do on electric diagram
BOTH THE PULLEYS ARE NOT ALIGNED.
The vibrant insincerity at the end ... 🤜🤛
Was super into this video and was shocked to see the religious popups come up. too bad we can't just talk about sewing machines without the Bible getting in the way.
