    Thank you for this!! I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor and show them my groin and buttocks region as a teen, 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I had been suffering for 10+ years when I finally got a diagnosis after I showed someone. Turns out, this was a deeper issue and it was NOT just boils or uncleanliness as many assumed. Thank you for helping me live with HS. It is so hard to be intimate in many aspects because of fear of what others will think, including my husband. But you give me hope. Thank you... Please keep the videos coming. We are benefitting from your care and knowledge. 💕🙏🏻 God bless.

    I use virgin coconut oil with pure tea tree oil, oregano oil, and 100% clove oil all mixed together and I rub this on my skin from head to toe after I bathe and it has really helped so maybe it’ll help someone else to. These oils are anti-microbial antibacterial antiviral, and anti-fungal. All these oils are good in hot tea with honey. I hope this helps someone

  • @donnaallgaier-lamberti3933

    I have my lesions tested 100% of time and there is NO infection. Therefore I do not take antibiotics. I believe that they also effects my skin and gut microbiome. I prefer to modulate inflammation using dietary interventions and hormone control. I've worked 5-long years to rebuild my gut microbiome and I do not wish to alter that unless it is a life and death situation. I've had to treat Candida overgrowth and biofilms in the past.

    My specialist actually put me on a treatment that helped me surpress my HS for 90%, it still comes up in moments i'm stressed and I really need to cut smoking. She prescribed me a oral zink treatment of 1 month to boost my immune system in combination with a topical that consists out of clindamycin and benzoylperoxid which I had to apply twice a day for two weeks after showering with a antibacterial body wash. I'm starting with laser hair removal soon and hopefully remission after living half my life with this curse.

      Great question! I actually made a video about Humira a while ago on our other channel. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/VtdDFBMdACU/video.html
      Humira has given many people relief, but it can come with dangerous side effects, including an increased risk of cancer. I've also heard from several people that Humira made them worse, or that it helped for a while and then stopped working. Overall I'm not a fan, but I also acknowledge that it could be helpful for the right person.

    Macrobid was the antibiotic I was prescribed for another reason, and found that after 2 pills, it IMMENSELY helped take away any HS cysts very quickly.
    However, I am on a lazy keto diet now with no processed carbs (ie bread or other yeast foods, etc).
    I avoid nightshades and ALL starchy veggies. Sweet potatoes, corn (any corn ingredients, even corn syrup) and nightshades are all my triggers. The only fruits I eat are berries.
    This is definitely a better lifestyle change for management. I also include probiotic foods daily. As long as I eat this way, I have no issues. But if I slip up, I have a problem 24 hrs later.
    Question: gram negative and gram positive - that seems to be what Macrobid is. Other antibiotics never actually helped my HS, but this one did as a bonus since I was taking it for another reason. Why would something being gram-positive and gram-negative help so much? This antibiotic was specifically prescribed because others caused yeast infections and I wasn’t pregnant or planning to get pregnant. That was the reason this one was chosen. No yeast infection happened either.

    • @HelpForHS
      @HelpForHS  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi! It sounds like you're doing amazingly well with your diet; that's excellent!
      "Gram-negative" and "gram-positive" refer to types of bacteria and how they stain under a microscope. If an antibiotic works on both types of bugs, it likely is more broad-spectrum and possibly very anti-inflammatory (that is another mechanism of antibiotics).

    So, if we shouldn’t eat yeast does that mean we shouldn’t take probiotics?

    • @katerawsaerialist844
      @katerawsaerialist844 Před 5 lety +1

      curlygirlyac I have Hs. Once I finished antibiotics I started upping my probiotic intake, I take probiotic pills and drink kombucha. Because of the probiotics I haven't had a flare up. Its been over a year. If I don't take probiotics for a few days or so I stared the beginnings of a flare up.
      This is my experience, I will never stop taking them.

    • @HelpForHS
      @HelpForHS  Před 5 lety +3

      I agree with Kate! Probiotics are very helpful for HS and pretty much any inflammatory condition. Not everyone does well with kombucha because of the yeast and sugar it contains (myself included!!), but a good probiotic with lactobacillus and bifidobcteria can be very supportive. For people with HS, I advise against probiotics that contain Saccharomyces boulardii, which is a type of probiotic yeast than can cross-react with the Saccharomyces cerevisiae (brewer's yeast) that most HS sufferers are sensitive to.

    • @spiritmama
      @spiritmama Před 5 lety

      I don’t take them as a supplement - I eat a bit of sauerkraut daily. That’s the only one that doesn’t seem to affect me as much as other probiotic food options that contain yeast. 🤷‍♀️ Am I sick of sauerkraut? 🤣 Absolutely! But it works! And I would much rather keep a little bit in my diet daily than go through HS issues. It’s one of those.. “it is what it is” things. I make a small saucepot of it every Sunday for the wk like clockwork.
