- Social Deduction games were Liv's gateway into the board gaming hobby and her love for them simply will not die. With that being the case she has a list of 10 back stabbing, victory nabbing, false blabbing games for you to check out. Some are old, some are new, all of them are sensational.
If you have any social deduction favourites that we didn't mention, whack them in the comments so we can all find new ways of lying to our friends in (technically) socially acceptable ways.

I'm digging the lighting, the list, and the call backs to previous games and videos. Great stuff y'all.
Great list. Would love to see the team play/revisit some of these games in a live stream.
And Liv's shirt is the embodiment of positive energy. 😇
Inhuman Conditions sounds interesting- looks like the next video I'll be watching is your playthrough:)
That's an awesome shirt by the way!
Blood on the Clocktower is my favourite social deduction game. I would love you guys to play it with oxboxtra and eurogamer!
That would be such chaos
I know right? But such good good content! Plus if they get an experienced storyteller like Ben Burns as a special guest it could be so so so good
@@AlmondLBDAbsolute dream. Hopefully... you never know 😄
Some of my favorite Social Deduction games are Shadows Over Camelot, Mystery of the Abbey, and Shadow Hunters. The first two are a little beefy, but worth it, and Shadow Hunters has totally replaced lighter games like Werewolf for me.
I'm using board games to as a way to to practice communication and conflict resolution with my team. We've already played Werewolf a couple of times. Might have to look into Blood on the Clocktower. Are there any collaborative or communicative social games for +10 players the comment section can recommend? I know not everyone is comfortable with the horror theme.
Blood on the Clocktower is great with 10 people and it's not horror per se. The storyteller can make descriptions of player deaths as gruesome or as fluffy as you like or just don't describe the deaths at all (just that the person didn't wake up). One thing I've seen and that I like with this game is that players whose deaths are caused by nominations get asked by the storyteller how they'd like to die so players can get involved with the narrative and get creative.
Is there any way we could get links to your various playthroughs? I tried searching for them and I could only find inhuman conditions and the thing but none of the other games you had clips of playing. I'd love to watch them all!
one of my first board games i got was Quest and i read that it was similar to Avalon. i havent gotten to chance to play it with my group yet tho 😢 good list!
Yes, I heard that, but then I heard they got rid of the voting, and more importantly, got rid of Merlin. I can't for the life of me see how this is an improvement. Merlin is what makes the game work as well as it does. It sounds like they made the game worse instead of better. Hopefully they'll release an expansion so you can house rule it back to the original.
Thanks for the video :)
Might I add The Thing The Boardgame (2022)? Plays very differently than Infection at Outpost 31 and is more complex.
Feed the Kraken is my favorite of all large group games and I just received my copy of Inhuman Conditions and my wife and I intend to play tonight, unless Sleeping Gods intrudes on our time as usual
Looks like Magic and Bang had an offspring
Evil Dead 2 the Board Game is also a really good social dedication game.
Liv's shirt is awesome and colorful ❤
I would also recommend The Thing: The Boardgame.
And Veiled Fate + Hadria.
We would love to see you Feed the Kraken! 🐙💚
3:37 You are displaying a white randomized twenty-sided (d20) die used for RPGs next to a black sequentially-numbered d20 used only for life-count in Magic: the Gathering! Those are abominations! Keep those dice well-apart!
For social deduction games.... 🤔 Jubensha...
Where is gnosia
none of these are as good as secret hitler, i need a game on that level
Best one to introduce noobies to proper board games?
Well... it's kind of debatable whether social deduction games would be considered "proper" board games? Something like Werewolf/Mafia is technically classed as a parlour game rather than a board game (with Clocktower here being a souped-up version of that), and a lot of games in the genre have physical components for visualisation/ease-of-play purposes and to enhance the experience rather than being strictly necessary. From the list, I'd say Cheese Thief and The Resistance are fairly simple introductory social deduction games while Feed The Kraken and The Thing are good as more substantial games with a blend of social deduction and board gaming.
@alexbruce9499 I'm aware that social deduction games aren't the same as board games. I was just trying to give a reference. The options available will be King of New York, Catan, and a social deduction game. That way we cover a few experiences and see what people like.
Thank you for your suggestions.
@@MySqueezingArm Dang that sounds like a good time! In that case The Resistance might be best unless you think your group would vibe with the theming of Cheese Thief. Kraken and Thing are good but the cost for them could be off-putting.
@@alexbruce9499 I'd be the buying everything most likely. Thank you for the suggestions though!
Is everything okay at Dicebreaker?
All games are social deduction games if you're a big cheating bastard like me.
Missed out three of the best. Secret Hitler, One night werewolf and Don’t mess with Chthulhu.
BOTC is the best game ever made!
10 social deduction games better than Werewolf. So, like, all of them.
