I still normally invade majors and steal their navies when I'm playing Germany. This will make it less tedious though
well, my normal strategy to go after japan or the uk is to naval bomb the sh*t out of their nearest sea nodes and harbor bombing what is in reach so there ussually is not much of a navy left when i start the landing missions

Honestly, the coolest part would be fixing the ,,end war" option - that you don't have to take entire country to end the war and focus on something else. I always found it horrible while fighting as Japan and trying to force Soviet Union to capitulation, meanwhile in 1905 Japan only took Manchuria and forced Russian Empire to capitulate after winning a naval battle with it. Then Japanese wanted to do the same with USA, but it didn't work.
Also, that's how Winter War ended. It would be better to have this option for every country, rather than just for Soviet Union just because of war with one country.

Eso es algo que llevo deseando desde que juego al HOI4, poder firmar la paz y ganar por solo ocupar parte del territorio e infringir muchas bajas o causar una gran derrota al enemigo. De hecho en algunos casos se puede hacer por evento. Cuando China expulsa a Japón de Manchuria y Corea, Japón ofrece una paz abandonando China y Corea sin tener que invadir Japón, o Finlandia ofrece la paz y territorio tras un tiempo en guerra con la Unión Soviética sin que esta invada todo el país.
yes! i was excited at first about the peace conference rework but just disappointed for the most part. the fact that wars are all or nothing is just genuinely stupid and it fucks over many mods because they can't really change the fact wars are all or nothing without heavily scripted peace deals and that's just lame.
Limited Wars are not possible in HOI4, and yes it totally sucks. Im definitely not a game developer, but I feel like it wouldnt take too much to add it into the game currently. What they should do is, sort-of like I think you are trying to say, is add a decision for the aggressor to "Offer Peace", which can be taken once you have occupied the states you claimed as Jusitification. For example, if as Italy, I justify using "Take Claimed State" on Yugoslavia, once I have in fact taken the state(s), I could then offer Peace with Yugo. I feel like this wouldnt be too hard to code into the game, but I have no idea.
This way as Japan for example, you could justify a limited war against the USSR say for North Sakhalin (whatever its called).
That’s right. It will make the game more realistic and fun. In almost all wars that happened in the world, the aggressor/defender never took all the territories for making them to surrender. That’s a long and annoying process that can maybe be replaced with this fantastic new peace treaties system
@@TJ-wt9op The closest to this is nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki as any country will end the war early since Japan surrenders, not to mention the Japan white peace if they get pushed off the mainland
The coding is already in game for ending war early mechanics, they'd just need to flesh it out properly
It is good to see the most vital parts of the DLC get carried over to the base game for free, appreciate that.

i wonder how the AI will behave with this new system.
The new system is still a bit wonky at times, but it allows for much more scripting of ai-desires for peace-deals, so with a little time most of the regular border-gore many complain about should be (at least if the game doesen't go super whack) largely removed.
Probably going to have random spots of the soviet union demilitarized
In some dev diaries and forum replies, they've said it usually results in less border gore and insane nonsense such as the UK releasing Occitania inside of France
With that said, there's nothing more guaranteed in HOI4 than the AI being monumentally stupid and frustrating, lmao

You can see in the "tutorial", Poland being turned into a border-gore shitshow with the danzig corridor released as free nation and two polands simultaneously existing

Those news additions seem interesting, but the question is Will the AI work better, will it stop taking lands IT Has no connection to. Will it pop milion nations like Aquitane on France? Cause looking at Poland in these peace conferences for example 1:23 worry, border gore and Cashubia released. I Hope AI will be better
They are probably still changing how it works. Previously democratic nations nearly always freed every nation possible which causes gore. Hopefully that has been changed.

This looks cool but I'm worried it's going to complicated. I think with these cool changed it would be cool if countries could surrender before they capitulate so that they can still exist. Obv nations don't have to accept but I think that would be really cool. Maybe in that case you can't annex or puppet but you can change government, demilitarize, etc. I've been meaning to say this for a while because I think it would be an awesome feature!
I'm playing the DLC as I write this, everything is horrible. They made puppets have war score so they just get random pices of land to make border gore. Also I'm playing as the Switz and I would at least get a few pieces of land, now i can't get jack shit.

What happens if one player takes the industry or the resources of a state that another player wants to annex, are the factories/resources going to the player demanding them or the player annexing the state?
Didn't he say those required Puppeting/Liberating/generally-not-annexing the states?
@@Wick9876 Yes, he did. I will also say that annexing territory will still likely carry the debuffs it normally does as well
When you demilitarize a region of, or demand resource-rights from a defeated country, they should add some decisions that revert those decisions.
Especially when you get fucked early game, or can make a comeback midgame.

Some dev should take one for the team and add hundreds of formable nations. From dozens of German states to Lapland to other states from the past and independence movements. Would be cool if players can change the world much more dramatically by forcing Unions or dividing other countries.
Imagine the AI peace deals with that feature 💀
@@fromant65 could disable it for AI when in historical mode and when historical AI is off the AI would only liberate countries if it benefits them, for example France may divide Germany into a couple of countries or divide it entirely

I attacked the netherland colony in the pacific as germany and I did not get enough war score altough there have not been any allies to contest the claim

Paradox, fix your peace conferences and the way to gain points. My buddy and I were testing how dumb it really is. He was Romania and chucked all nations out of their score by land leasing them fuel. He had 70% score without firing a single shot. I capped Russia and Japan, killed 3 million men and was only able to take 5 Russian states before running out of score being unable to get more.

It was actually "Peace for our time" but it was often misquoted as "Peace in our time" (If you're talking about the Peace for our time that Chamberlain)
I have one question: is the option of giving back land to another country going to be changed? When you occupy multiple provinces of a different state and you would actually like to give back only one or two provinces, but would have to give back all 15 of 20 provinces you have previously owned, is actually enerving. Will it be changed so you can actually choose which provinces you would like to give back? Maybe there could also be a province exchange system you can use with your puppets

The percentage of ships up for grabs should probably depend on the war support of the defeated nation at the time of capitulation.

Woah! This system heavily reminds me of how Germany was split up after world war 2 in real life. Would taking resources also include taking things such as tools and machinery? This would then allow for building more factories, or at least give a boost to your factories

The new peace conferences are an awesome feature, but I don't see how they are going to add that much to the game.
The total-win warfare style of peace ensures that essentially, by the time you've won, the game is over anyways.
Things like war reparations are really cool in theory, but I fail to see how that changes anything in the game.
As yes, fighting with UK as Poland to get Silesia by 10 minutes, meanwhile relasing all trash and SA in Stuttgart, Australia in Stettin and NZ claiming 1 submarine.

you probably will, this all looks dandy, but in practice it's gonna look like the old peace deals probably. I've seen some pics of peace deals and it looked atrocious. But that could've been just playtesting or something (development footage), so who knows

@@lmao6762 It won't be perfect, but as a tester I can assure you that the new peace deals look significantly better than the old ones, but we obviously have a bit to go before they are perfect in any capacity

I don't understand what just happened.
I Germany & romania are contesting northern transylvania.
I wanted to annex, and romania was trying to puppet. after passing 14 rounds with no increase or decrease in points but the cost of it going up till I could no longer ask for it, so i exited out of frustration thinking romania would take it as a puppet.
But hungary kept this last territory and became an independent nation again.
Please explain how to resolve the contest and why the victory point system froze up.
