The shifts are very slow, and the 4th gear goes until 175, fifth until 215(or a bit more). Nevertheless, i've done with my stock 308 GTI 100-200 time of a 14.74
The GTI is unreal! Stage 1 GOLF 7 is also a lot faster than the competition with the similar horsepower.
Both great cars, but i'd still take 308 gti again because of the 380mm Alcon brakes, Torsen fully mechanical LSD, 6.9kg lightweight 19inch wheels and much more features.

@@XboxgamerZ Yes, you're right, unfortunately its tuning potential is low since it's only a 1.6, although the irony is that the engine can withstand a lot more, but the fuel system is not capable!
It's like megane rs, it wasn't meant for straights, but definitely is a beast on the curvy roads :D
Also, Peugeot speedometer are much more accurate that VWs, I've seen videos with dragy to compare and on 200km/h they are close to 20km/h off in the Golf...
308 GTI all day before Golf GTI, Golf R are something else...
Now stage 1/2 or 3 tune is available for EA888 evo4 engine. Tuned Mk8 GTI with stage 1 (about 340hp) is much faster than tuned 308 GTI. More displacement, more potent engine, better gearbox, higher injection pressure, bigger turbo.
