It's not a singing contest, it's a song contest.
Correct. Thst about sums it up. It's actually quite sad for Isaak, because his voice is so good and he's a very solid singer, but if he's lucky he might be looking at a couple of Jury points and that's it.
Also too bad he has the stage presense of a jellyfish, that really doesn't help either.
He reminds me of Michael Rice whom the UK sent a couple of years ago. Brilliant singer but with a song that might get lost in the competition. Hope Germany doesn’t come last again!

In Germany, lots of people are dissatisfied with the staging, because the 'run' theme has not been implemented. If you take it literally, then the treadmill Isaac is struggling off is certainly missing. Meanwhile, the title of the song is a metaphor. A metaphor!
Isaac says he doesn't really want to move on stage. The fire around him is something he wants to burn. The setting is initially reminiscent of a therapy session. And it's perfectly plausible if you read the lyrics that way.
I've met many people who have been completely restless for years, sleepless, constantly seeking new stimuli, never able to calm down. You know this in workaholics, for example, and people who have been trained in therapy have explained to me that the image of depression, in itself, is not enough as listlessness and apathy. The fear of standing still and falling into a black hole can have the opposite effect, leading to restlessness, just being always on the run. People who are always on the run, you don't have to notice it. They can seem very calm, but they're not serene.
At the end of the performance, the internal fires are torched, the walls of the cage open, it's open, wide space, people come on stage singing with Isaac. Lights appear from the outside. That's the end of the song. It's not really bright (yet), but the run ends.

He sings about 'running' and appears to be trapped between fireplaces. His voice is great but that does not sell enough in such contest. I was hoping he would have more action on the stage bus he looks already exhausted without moving.
Definitely think that this will be last but that doesn't mean he's the worst. Everyone is consistently middle for this and cos of that its up in peoples 13th/14th place or somewhere like that and not their top 10.
Acts like Croatia will be some people's 1st place and others last place but Germany will consistently be about 14th but Croatia will be getting points and Germany won't in that scenario
Fortunately, we know where Isaac ended up,now. He really deserved a top 10. Next time I would be more careful if the UK has such a bad song and weak vocals at the start like Olly Alexander and Mae Muller - both were absolute failures live. Being the ONLY one to get 0 points from the people says it all.
People are so biased because of Germany's points in the past that it could become a self fulfilling prophecy.
It's spain or germany to come last this year.
Spain is actually okay. I predict 15-20th place
