only problem is they arent very versatile
@@memelord22931 I’ve read a lot that they are good for hard rock and metal but in the 1st demonstration it wasn’t metal and they sounded great with the music. I’m more of a stoner/space rock and metal player and I think these cymbals would be awesome for that genre. Idk about jazz, country or any other styles like that though
@@andrewmcgee4486 yeah I actually agree with that, I was more or so referring to just jazz or maybe even fusion about the versatility thing
I play classic customs dark in metal/punk crossover band and they sound incredible. I sit between a triple rectifier and an incredibly loud bass amp at rehearsal and these cymbals cut. They are pitched perfect so I can still hear all the guitars through my cymbal playing and am able to work much more efficiently during practice. I love these cymbals. I play: 15” hats 19” crash 20” crash and a 22” crash ride (soon an 18” china.) Beautiful, durable, AFFORDABLE, and they sound amazing. Thanks Meinl for making these awesome cymbals. Also I love these overhead vids, keep em coming!
I am a Bass Player turned drummer in a novice band. I have hand-me downs (broken cymbals) from my other band members but need some good sounding cymbals for this new band. Do you think the 14" will do compared to the 15"? 50 watt JCM guitar and 350 transistor watts on bass so it's not ludicrous loud. These classic darks sound amazing and they don't break the bank.

@@devinvenne Thanks, still did not purchase anything as my drummer provided me with a cracked 14"K and a 13" quick beat bottom. Works for now but these Meinl's are still on my list for the studio kit. thanks

That transition at 3:12 is so smooth, and just how he evolves that part out of there is masterful. Very BTBAM sounding drumming. Oh the cymbals are sweet too. Especially that China.

Cool video. Love the symbols. I've played them in stores. Very likeable sounds. Quite affordable as well. The playing was very tasty as well. Sounds to me like prog meets modern alt rock with a hint of gospel chops. Not liking the kit. Almost sounds dead to me. Not my taste. But it works for what you do. Application, and preference. Have a great day.

Everything about this is perfect! The sound of cymbals, sound of drums, the composition between light and the overhead angle. Hands down the best work on a demo. Love it. I'm gonna buy Custom Dark Effect set and an 18" custom dark crash, no doubt!

AMAZING line of cymbals, they almost sound too good to be budget cymbals. The mix is perfect also; the drums sound nice and crisp with tone that hits that sweet spot, and Richie Martinez came in with the super tasteful drumming as always. 👏

That 19 inch classic dark crash..whoa! The whole set was killer but that one stood out to me the most

I came because of the cymbals, but they sound nearly all the same - and I stayed in case of the drum sound - great.
I’ve been salivating over these hats and ride for idk how long and I finally ordered both today. So so excited for them to come in.

Watched this video about 20 times lol. Great drumming. I have been looking to upgrade cymbals from my meinl hcs line and after lots of research decided to pull the trigger on these classics custom dark. And I'm excited to get them and see how they sound in person

These are really sweet sounding cymbals. B10 bronze so quite warm to begin with and that finish combines to create a delicious buttery tone. I own an 18" china and 12" trash splash. Both my favs.
