    OMG. I love her technicality. the way she talks is addictive. Continue taking care of this channel and it will rocket at some point sooner than later.

    It's been a while since I went through your channel. It is a pleasure to see that your videos are still very good despite the time that has passed. Now Mari has some new nodes but the technique you use in the videos is still impressive.

    Turned out great! Maybe adding a bit of smaller breakup would give it the final touch to break with the big shapes.

    Great video! But I don't understand the point of using Mari if you're baking maps in Substance anyway. In that case why not just use Substance for the entire process, since as far as I can tell it could do everything shown here?

    Thank you for sharing this even though it sounds like you're probably really busy with work! Just curious, do you think you weren't happy with the results because you tried to match the reference so closely? I wonder if you would have been more satisfied with the look if you had put more of your own artistic spin on it. Either way it looks great and seems like it was a good exercise.

    • @ArtruismDigital
      @ArtruismDigital  Před 3 lety +1

      Was a great exercise for sure. I think I don't have enough ref for me to match, so doing a lot of guessing resulted in a final look that prob could be better.

    Nice video, especially the creation of masks in PS for Mari, have I mentioned I'm now sold hand painting using masks? :) - Also, good to hear your views as well as the other guys on tonight's Foundry Panel webinar.

    when making a portfolio piece do you recommend a prop or a big asset like a car/large furniture etc?

    • @ArtruismDigital
      @ArtruismDigital  Před 3 lety

      For film texture, I suggest something that you can dig deep into creating details, so big or small asset depends on you current skills. Something you can show case texture details so a lot of cases it means something old, used and damaged. That can be anything.

    Where do you usually get your base texture images?

    • @ArtruismDigital
      @ArtruismDigital  Před 3 lety

      A lot of megascan nowadays, textures.com and many self made textures I collected through out the years.

    Why is Mari not used in games?

    • @ArtruismDigital
      @ArtruismDigital  Před 3 lety +1

      Substance is the preferred software for games. Game assets in a lot of cases do not require multiple UDIM, which is a strong benefit of Mari. I am sure some people still use it for some hero assets but not the norm.
