- After talking to some of my Facebook group members, it seems like people are really interested to see some good old prop texturing in Mari for VFX production! So here it is!
In this tutorial I will also dig into using smart masks from the new Mari Extension Pack to create our material masks!
Hope this is helpful!

Even as a texture artist in the industry I found this very insightful. Always fun to see how other people approach assets. Looking forward to more videos!
Thanks!
Hi Chun Chun - I'm guessing you probably know by now - but if not at 4:25 when asking about baking in Mari, we now can have the Substance Baker Bridge right within Mari. All of SP's great baking tools are integrated with the bridge.
Very great and in-depth! Thanks for covering smart masks too.
I would love to see you do a complete course like your Mari one only with Substance Painter as the tool. Huge fan of your tutorials, keep up the great work.
Thank you!
thank you a lot! I really love your tutorials! so helpful
Suddenly, dopamine is spurting. Thank you ~ ❤️❤️❤️

This is a superb tutorial , I am going to try out these techniques.Thanks.Peace.
Cheers!
thank you so much, extremely useful .
WOuld be lovely to do this or something similar in Painter, because I belive a lot of artists struggle with wood texturing :)
Thanks for you sharing!
Very helpful.
Superb, thanks for sharing
Thank you.
En cuanto leí el título me convenciste 😊❤️
merci pourle tutoriel
非常感谢分享,最重要的是思路,流程和细节观察。
Good time. Pts need your help, when loading a texture in Mari using aces profile 2065-1 at 16K, it does not give any errors, but the texture itself is not displayed! More precisely displayed, but just in black. When using other profiles such as sRGB, acescg - everything falls into place and is displayed normally.
Nice sir 👍👌
Tus trabajos son tan hermosos como tu
Yeah I like this flow.Thank you so much for this !! now the only concern about maskbulider, did u explain it before in any videos ?
No this is the first time I use it. Can check out Mari extension pack CZcams channel for more detailed explanation.
You can find the Mask Builder Tutorial here:

Nice
Please check the MightyBake application for baking mesh maps. In terms of baking quality and the result, MightyBake is better than substance painter. BTW, great tutorials and thank for sharing valuable infos.
I love your job. Is possible do you make more tutorials but with Substance? Congrats your channel is greattttt.
Great stuff! :) I'm curious though, what's your process when it comes to painting diffuse maps for metals when they get brighter and brighter? As bright and shiny metals generally don't have a strong diffuse component and get most of it's details through the reflection color, roughness & bump + possible surface dirt/dust, if you understand what I mean. If you have full diffuse contribution in the shading you won't get proper metal fresnel (depending on the material of course). Hope that makes sense haha
when it gets brighter and more reflective, more work in the spec color and tarnish on top. because that is what you will see the most. depends on the metal, work on what you will see more.
@@ArtruismDigital Makes sense, thanks!
Great tutorial. The only thing I didn't quite get is the Bump map process. With Mari I always get so many artifacts... And I don't know how to approach it like in Substance.
you need to lower the contrast on your bump either in Mari or in the render engine, then it will star to look better.
You can bake maps in Modo directly, both AO and curvature. And no idea why is it so slow in MARI ...
I'm curious in a typical big production studios. Do they have a library of high resolution textures, maps, photos references for the artist to use from ? or We have to make everything from scratch by ourselves ?
Some have a well organized library, some have less organized library. Most of them have subscription to different textures libraries online. You do need to create your own from time to time when the subject is super specific as well. Hope that helps!
@@ArtruismDigital Wow thanks for the fast response. Looking forward for your future stuff.
Hi, is there a reason why you do not use the "mesh map" preset in SP for exporting the AO and Curvature maps?
Dear mam, could you tell me where we can download xyz texture and have you made any video training Maya and Mari and zbrush and substance workflow?
from texture . xyz website
Can you add English subtitles?
I want to translate smoothly.
Will try for the next one.
@@ArtruismDigital Thank you very much!!
