    What a great approach! Nice landing, and really loved that somewhat stormy weather.

    That was a smooth, downwind, VFR approach parallel to 07 under overcast conditions. Also, a very impressive 180 to roll out less than a mile lined up on 25 while maintaining altitude and airspeed under high/hot conditions. Great airmanship, kudos to the pilot.

    Weird approach.

      Yeah. The mountains don't really pose any challenge for a regular approach. "Not standard flap full." Someone was watching the speed there. Seemed like a fair amount of work.

      It's an ILS approach to runway 07 then circle visually to land runway 25

    Why do they use a circling approach?

    • @elmunyon
      @elmunyon  Před 2 lety +1

      Because there was no instrument approach for landing in runway 25 due to the high elevation terrain in the final approach sector.

      @@elmunyon ah okay, so this would be a landing pattern that most aircraft would have to replicate?
