Golden Demon is going to Essen, just what does this mean for Warhammer Fest this year, and will there even be a Warhammer Fest and just who is the Warhammer Fest fellow anyway and why didn't we get a 40th Games Day. All these questions asked and more in today's video.

I was lucky enough when I was younger to visit a then much smaller Warhammer world museum and see the battle of big roof river andsiege of the emperor's palace in person, I was shown that in the massive door to the palace there was a much smaller door that had a little step with some milk bottles on 😁
That's amazing! I wonder if any of the original Praetorian models were saved when Big Toof River was broken down
I miss having the authors at Games Day to sign books, and seeing the store banners in display. Getting ADB to sign my Night Lords stuff was awesome.
Great to have your knowledge on the lore that is GW in the real world ...your passion for it is obvious,you are the kind of people this hobby needs ..
Thank you so much! I honestly think if I wasnt on CZcams I'd just be accosting people on the street going "hey, do you want to hear about how many different kinds of tree Games Workshop have produced over the years???"
Great video and insights. I miss the old Gamesdays and even the early Warhammer Fests. Warhammer Fest 2023 was a real disappointment for me. The studio staff weren't allowed to attend, which is one of the best bits! I want to celebrate this amazing hobby, but GW just keep making it more and more difficult 😂
Couldn't agree more, it's a shame they confirmed today there won't be a Fest this year, but maybe they could do something like what I'm talking about next year.

In today's Warhammer Community post about events in the USA, hiding at the bottom was an announcement of no Fest this year.

In all seriousness GW need you on staff at WW to help plan/design Games Day each year. So many good, yet simple ideas you've put forward here. I have a feeling the company is getting too corporate in its thinking now though but hapy to be proved wrong. Fingers crossed for an announcement soon!
TBH I would gladly help plan and organize Games Day - it would be awesome to make something that thousands of people could enjoy, just as long as they don't need me to do any maths along the way!!

My games room is still full of mead!! I need to either sell it all or move it to somewhere else in the house before I can get any games in. I am hoping I might be able to do one next weekend...
Dear James Workshop, please take notes! Well said, and I hope it turns out somewhat close to what you described.
As for BFG and a remake: OF COURSE the scale will be different... but I do not think it will be an issue. Remember that BFG used the bases for any measurements, the models were... just there. And scale for spaceships is not a serious deal either (unless it is the same ship in different sizes). So if GW does a "Battlefleet Horus Heresy" - again, James Workshop: please and thank you! - I think old and new ships would fit perfectly fine next to each other. Maybe old cruisers are the new destroyers in size, and old batleships are the size of new cruisers - but the models itself would still work perfectly fine.
Battlefleet Heresy is actually my big fear - I don't want just imperial on imperial. I would rather have something like Battlefleet Indomitus and have it set in the current timeline with all the different armies represented.
@@90percentgeek I'm completely with you there, but I fear GW will go further down the "HH only" route. They are doing mass skirmish, mass battles, titans and flyers already - space combat is the logical next step. And keeping the model range smaller has all the same benefits... and downsides.
I hope I end up being wrong and you being right!
Warhammer Fest 2023 was end of April and start of May. I would hardly call that Summer! Also I watched ArbitorIan video and like most of the GW partnered creators, he glossed over the major issues of the event because like many, he wont critise GW in any meaningful way!
Looks like they've announced in a roundabout way that it has been cancelled on WarCom today.....

Yeah I just saw. If they had done that a week ago it would have saved me a video! I'm disappointed but maybe they will take people's views on board and do something amazing next year.
Different world, the don't have the stafff anymore. There won't be games designers there anymore because it's all nameless. And they couldn't run more demo tables because, yep they don't have the staff.....
Any re-basing - to the new bases i support is from round to square.. ;) I guess they need a the new sizes but.. Spacers? But maybe no need to use them for older editions..?
There was no way the new chaos warriors would fit on anything smaller than the 30mm bases - they only just fit on those being creative! Likewise my converted marauders needed the 25mm bases, as they're made out of blood reavers so would never have fit on 20mm bases.
Sorry to be that guy but, I thought the last Games day was 2013? The first Warhammer fest was 2014.
You sir are technically correct, the best kind of correct! I simply can't do maths (as has long been established over the course of my videos!!)
Not a chance i'm attending this after last year, talk about Warscammer fest, last years event was a comlpete rip off!
Even if it was run better and changes like I discussed were made?
@@90percentgeek No way, some of your ideas would be welcome like having alot of tables to try out other games but i dont care about buying preorders etc. If anything i want some discounted miniatures\ quick competitions if i'm going to make to effort to turn up and pay to get in! We need quick fun things to do, most people have more important stuff to do so they dont have all day (or 3 days, what a scam!) to hang around at this thing.
Anyway theres not a chance in hell i'll attend and i'm 20 minutes away, i'll see if they rip people off again this year if it's on. If they put on a decent show then maybe i'll attend next year, sorry to go on but this really made me hate GW for the first time in my life, the whole thing was a soulless money grabbing exercise.
