- Painting moody skies in watercolour is my favourite - I find the process of mixing rich darks on wet paper very calming. In this video, I demonstrate how I create smooth washes and gentle colour transitions to create the look of a clearing storm.

Absolutely love, love the combination of Payne's grey and French ultramarine... one of my favorite combinations to pain skies.
Thank you so much! I agree, these two colours work together so well.
I always look forward to your videos, not only for the calmness as you bring the scene to life, but also for inspiration. Your explanations are priceless! Thank you so much!
I am so glad you are enjoying my videos! Thank you for being here. Happy painting!
Tender, free, a primordial wilderness with its serenity under the storm of blowing winds. Drawn from a soul. Thank you, Anastasia, for this gift of beauty, may your tempest, if it comes to you, will be a gentle breeze and not a catastrophe.
Thank you for such a beautiful and kind comment!
I love this calming scene. Just the right number of colors and no overworking which I always end up doing. Many thanks
Thank you so much. I agree, it is very easy to overwork watercolours, I often do. Stepping away for at least a few minutes does help to see our work through fresh eyes and not cover up areas that already work with more paint.
And happy new year 2024 !
And a very happy and creative 2024 to you too!
I absolutely love this scene
Thank you so much!
Thank you! Absolutely stunning. Love your process❤

Wow, lovely
Thank you!
Wow! Many of your landscaps have such amazing movement in the sky. This one creates the feeling of there being such a bigger world than just what is on the paper! I want to step right in and feel the wind on my face!
Keep up your style and enjoy your work! It's fabulous!
Thank you for watching and for such a lovely comment 😊 I love painting dramatic skies. I think watercolour as a medium is perfect for that 💙

Hello. I am entranced by your work method and am recommending you and your art on Facebook to all my friends and others. Thank you. I am very eager to start myself
Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate it. Have fun with your watercolours!!
Also, I've been usinga combination of yellow ochre, titanium white and a touch of French ultramarine to make buff titanium. Seems to be working. Am I on the right path?
Yes!! It actually sounds like a perfect recipe for Buff Titanium. I need to try this mix myself - thank you for sharing!
