10 Roller Coasters That "I" Overrated

- In 2023, I set a goal of reviewing a different roller coaster, every day, for all 365 days of the year. Having now achievied that epic goal, it was time to reflect back on some of those reviews, and maybe give some of them a second thought! My scoring system was of course, incredibly arbitrary and not exactly scientific. In a video I released last week, I went over 10 roller coasters that I personally underrated throughout the year. So for this one? Let's do the reverse! As I reveal 10 roller coasters that I may have OVERsold, just a bit :). Enjoy!

Yankee cannonball does have some bite to her. The last hill has some pretty damn good airtime honestly.
Maybe it’s row dependent, and like I said, still enjoy it! Just was hoping for a tad more
@@coaster365 fair. It’s the tamest of the wooden coasters I’ve ridden. Check her out in the back tho. She does have some bite.
It takes guts to admit being wrong. But time and reflection helps all of us with that. And now that you have locked on your technique I look forward to see new reviews and maybe some revisits.

This is more appropriate for your last video but I just got off of my first ride on Apollo’s Chariot in years and it was way better than I remembered! Very cool of you to re-evaluate some of these.

As much as it's sad t see the Canobie rides drop a bit I totally get it. I grew up with that park and as much as I love it sometimes, the rides are really underwhelming, especially the more times I revisit having ridden more coasters. Hopefully they'll give us another ride some day
It definitely needs one!! Maybe the biggest difference of loving the park but being eh about the coasters of any park I’ve been to
Whoa man Awuaman Powerwave I thought you UNDERRATED! I’d say it’s almost an 8! Most the others I think are fine but Diamondback and Toutatis I think you were right the first time and American Thunder is absolutely the best GCI IMO.
With almost 500 creds, an 8 for me would be like Top 50-75, which I just cannot justify for Aquaman haha. But why I love the hobby, always get a variety of opinions!
Hey i saw myself in this video! Nitro score finally a bit lower, but it still seems a bit high in the 8s! Toutatis I feel you had ranked properly. Definitely a top 20 and in the 9s ride for me. Glad Copperhead Strike got lowered. It's a great ride, but still a Mack. Beast you had correctly ranked too, but broken now! Nooooo.
I think until I have Nitro in the 6’s you’ll still call me out 😝. And wait do you mean Beast is actually broken? Or just my re-score? 😆
@@coaster365 Nitro is probably a solid 8.01/10. Beast score was correct before the re-score!
I definitely agree a lot of your new rankings lol, especially the Nitro and Copperhead one. Beast just didn’t really do anything for me lol, I do need to ride it in front row though. Toutatis theming looks so good! Great video bro.

A few thoughts: Toutatis wasn't overscored. Incredible ride and a complete package from a presentation and operational standpoint. I think your original score was fine with that one. Guess you know it is in my Top 10.
I don't think you hit the king of impulses as V2 at SFDK is the best one. Nothing like hanging upside down .
For Aquaman, just say it was really hot and I needed to cool off and I miss scored it very badly and move on. But yeah that wasn't a great score.
I think you scored Copperhead OK. Ride To Happiness much better than Time Traveler which is much better than Copperhead.
And FINALLY- Nitro. As your college basketball team says- Scoreboard. It actually deserves to be lower.... But hey today was a start.
SFDK maybe this summer? 👀 All fair here though! Love the scoreboard reference 😂, one day you’ll get that great Nitro ride 😉

Totally agree on Copperhead
Honestly, all of six flags great adventure to me felt pretty disappointing. Kingda ka was my favorite, but everything else felt rough to some degree. They weren’t really that fun to ride compared to other parks I’ve been to. I didn’t even like el toro that much. I was expecting a lot more.
I honestly understand this take. When Great Adventure hits, it HITS. But it can definitely have its off days lol
I have an irrational and abiding home-park love for Untamed and the Yankee Cannonball, but given that they're around the middle of my personal rankings and I only have 30 creds, somewhere in the middle of any reasonable scale probably makes sense.

Mystic Timbers is on the bottom of my list for KI, which is my home park. The trains are super uncomfortable for me personally. Coaster doesn't do much its the same maneuver again and again and then you sit in this dull shed. I don't understand the rage on this one. Id rather ride Adventure Express. The Beast at night is a 9 out of 10 ride. Beast during the day is a different story. It's not the same ride at daytime. If I have to list my favorite coasters for nostalgia though and history, I am going with 1. Magnum XL-200 and 2. Beast. I am also partial to Viper at Great America. lol. But see I see my home parks as KI, Cedar Point, and Great America, because those are where I went again and again growing up. This is why I hate having to say my home park is KI... to me its KI, CP, and SFGA.
To each their own! Personally can’t get enough of Mystic haha. Beast is for sure such a different experience day vs night

Comparing things and then rating them is no easy task, it's easy to rate something higher or lower than you probably should based on a comparison with other things, as it's all based on gut feel, instant reaction, rather than facts and statistics. And, over time, opinions change, the original thrill may ware off after a few more rides, or you appreciate a ride more after a second visit, sometimes the rides are running great other times they're slow or affected by weather conditions

Most overrated coasters for me
1 Velocicoaster (I never got why people put this coaster in their top 15 or even no1 but I don't care for theming so maybe that's why)
2 Wildcats Revenge (middle to lower tier RMC imo)
3 Fahrenheit (people say this is underrated way too much now so much so that I think its extremely overrated)
4 B&M GIGAs(I prefer B&M hypers to the GIGAs since I love airtime and B&M GIGAs have twister layouts with a few airtime moments)
5 Talon (its definitely a lower tier invert)
6 Thunderhead (kinda similar to Fahrenheit)
7 Diamondback (one of the only B&Ms were the rattle is actually noticeable)
8 Dominator (lower tier floorless)
9 Steel Curtain (there's some kiddie coasters more forceful than this ala Lil phantom)
10 The Beast (it depends on whether or not you like.straight track and helices)
I’ll agree with like, half of these. Some I vehemently disagree 😝
Points 1,2,4,& 8 are really strange imo. Thunderhead over Lightning Rod is crazy talk but it is still an upper tier GCI.
Fahrenheit is not worth the wait it gets and isn't in Hershey's top 5. Talon is lower to mid tier but I don't get the sense besides a few outliers that people say it's elite. I think it is properly ranked. Diamondback does have a rattle which is a shame because the airtime is really good. Beast isn't elite but I think it is top 5 at KI. Steel Curtain is overrated but it is better than lil phantom.

Imo steel vengance and voyage have to the most overrated coasters
