- Mac n Cheese better had been on the dinner table tonight. Here is mine. YES I USE EGG… tell my grandma she wrong. YES I used Velveeta… tell my grandma to her face that she wrong 😂

Ingredients
24 oz elbow macaroni
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/2 can evaporated milk
1/4 cup sour cream
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 stick unsalted butter
8 oz velvet cheese, cubed
8 oz Colby jack cheese
8 oz sharp cheddar
8 oz mild cheddar
8 oz mozzarella cheese
8 oz Swiss cheese
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons seasoning salt
1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

I made this TODAY (11/24/2023) for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was a freakin' hit yo!!!!!!! My fingers 'bout gave out with all the shredding & cubing, but glad that's the first step! LMBO!!! I had to sub red pepper flakes for the cayenne pepper and Tabitha Brown's Sweet & Smokey for the seasoning salt, and it came out just fine!!! I'll be writing this down in my recipe book bc this gone be the go-to going fwd!!!!! 🔥 Also, I baked mine in a large cast iron skillet. 👌🏽

Your mac and cheese looks delicious. Very similar to my mother except for the Velveta. I am going to try it with the Velveta. I also use evaporated milk, milk eggs, etc. but I learned something new today about doing the custard of the items and then adding it to the macaroni. I love your method and the way you slowly and clearly explained everything. And yes, eggs have been a part of my mac & cheese for as long as I've been alive, which has been for quite some time...LOL I will definitely be following you. Never to old to learn new things. I enjoy all of your recipes and tutorial - it is one of the best! My family prepare Mac & Cheese the same way except we use whole milk instead of evaporated milk. ❤

It ain't southern style without the eggs and evaporated milk imo
The people who usually don’t use egg and milk make a rue. I was taught with egg and evaporated milk or half and half. I would never use velveeta. I was taught to use aged cheeses never use processed cheese. People are real sensitive and touchy about “their” Mac n Cheese. Everybody’s Grandma made the best. So take whatever you think is the best for you. I use butter, half n half, eggs, and evaporated milk and all aged cheese. Also shred your own cheese. (Oh and secret ingredient is white Vermont cheddar cheese) among the other aged cheeses… Pre shredded cheese doesn’t melt as well. Oh and the foil is to make sure the middle gets done. I put the foil on top loosely half way through cooking. He put his on at the beginning. Just my 2 cents. Hope you make great mac n cheese and get to eat great mac n cheese!!💜💜🫰🏾

Yeah, my grandma use eggs (from the West Bank) and I didn't like it, too stiff for me, so I use milk (sometimes condensed), butter, cheese to make a sauce over the stove, then put more cheese over the top in a baking pan, born and raised in Louisiana. It's just personal preference...sounds good.

Ok let me tell you. I’ve been trying different recipes for Baked Mac & cheese and some have been successful. We were looking for a well seasoned and cheesy Mac & cheese. This is by far our favorite. I don’t even think we need to try anymore recipes. We followed every little thing you said and listed. This was it!

I am always asked to bring mac and cheese to the family dinners. I love how you make the cheese custard and then mix the noodles. That's how my mom taught me too. I use different cheeses but I am going to try this combinations. 5 cheese is a must. I have tried so many of your delicious recipes. Keep doin ya thang young man. Try a tiny pinch of nutmeg in your custard. game changer.
