Sticker books aren’t new but they’re totally cool and I’m glad a new generation is finding them. I wish I had my sticker book from when I was a kid in the 80s. Stickers for the 80s were a totally different ball game. Scented, puffy and really unique.
I remember trying to eat them cuz they smelled very nice to me .😅😅
@@padamshree8126😂aww!
omg yes! my thoughts exactly!
My elementary school teacher wouldn't push the stickers all the way down on our papers because she knew we would peel them up and put them in our sticker books. She always had the best scratch and sniff stickers too- the skunk, grass, tires, etc.
Yes! I miss the scented and puffy stickers so much!! I had such a great collection, no idea what happened to them.
Oh? You have never seen reuseable sticker books? They were ALL the rage in the early 90's! We would all take our's to school and trade stickers with everyone. And collecting Sandylion stickers! With glitter, fabric or glow in the dark 🥰
And puffy or holographic ones! I didn't even knew those felt stickers were from a specific brand 😆
i still have mine laying around somewhere, childhood 😍
Came to the comments to see if anyone else remembers those sticker books being around back then.
Oh they go back even further than that. They were around in the early and mid 80s when I was a kid.
They never died out. Nor puffy stickers.
I don't know if I had a privilege childhood, but half of these supplies I owned growing up, the rainbow pencil and the stickers notebook were my favorites... so these weren't really something new for me, but again tik tok sometimes brings stuff back from back in the day
Yeah, we had reusable sticker books and rainbow pencils in the 80s, too, lol. Kids these days. 😉
@@AlottaBoulchitwhat's with kids these days?
I have the sticker books too, they certainly weren’t expensive… Glad Rae is finally discovering the good stuff! :P
Yea, the rainbow pencil was all the rage in kindergarden lol
@_sugar_plum Wait, are you asking me what's up with the young generations, or are you asking me why I said "kids these days?" Your comment is so open. 😂
Those rainbow pencils and the reusable sticker book are taking me back to my childhood in the 90s 🙃
Same but late 2000s for me ugh especially the rainbow pencils
The ‘100’ piece pretty looking set of markers actually had 240 in the pack
I have the same one the numbers on the marker is not what number marker it is from the box it the shade
You're literally the first person I've ever known to talk about sticker anxiety. It always shocks people when I open up about feeling weird about stickers, it's awesome to know I'm not the only one lol
Oh my goodness, I have this so bad. I don't really understand it but I'm glad I'm not the only one :)
Sticker anxiety is not fun. :( I was gifted two sets of Animal Crossing decal stickers after New Horizons came out and it took me TWO YEARS to commit myself to placing them somewhere.
I have it too, I just barely use my stickers
SAME
I generally save stickers until I'm feeling transgressive. I never like where I place them or layer them otherwise.
I need to make some stickers.
SHE HAS RETURNED TO SAVE US FROM EXPENSIVE FROM EXPENSIVE ART SUPPLIES THAT NO ONE KNOWS IF ITS GOOD OR TRASH!! 🎨🖌️🖼️
SO TRUE!
88 and only one comment ima change that!
215 likes and 2 comments? Lemme fix that
@@TheZepetoGirl254 Thx!!
@@jomanasrour Thank you so much!!
Okay Ray, girl. Money save tip here. Those plastic sleeve flip files or whatever Americans call it. Use that as a sticker book. I've done it my whole childhood
My only concern with Grabie is that I see a lot of the same products on Temu, so it makes me wonder if they are getting them from a place like temu, or if Temu is ripping off the products from Grabie
Temu is literally just ali express rebranded. Same rip off products that never perform as well as the originals. China loves ripping off everything and fooling people to spend money on their crap.
Its because they are mostly generic materials and companies buy them and just add their own logo and tags. It's very normal especially Chinese products. Have seen a lot of same products but with different names.
It's all the same Chinese AliExpress shit, for the environment? Don't buy it, don't support Shein or temu
Or they are probably ordering it from Alibaba, which Amazon and TikTok shop users use for mass orders
@@raimeii.yes I have seen this with colored pencils also
Oh man, rainbow pencils and sticker books.. my childhood is coming back. :'D Dunno how to feel about it. We used to trade stickers in elementary school, and most everyone had one of those sticker books.. The more exotic a sticker you had, the more trade power it had. Stuff like cork stickers, holograms, etc. all the fancy stuff. I used to collect Pokémon stickers from a brand of chewing gum and almost had all of the first generation.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical before I clicked this. But DANG what a great haul!! The rainbow pencils look so fun to work with. And I love me a solid watercolor set 😁 Also loving what you made with the supplies. Very *winter wonderland* ✨️❄️
The reusable sticker album is something I had in the 90s when we traded them in school. So cool they still exist!
I have like 7 sticker albums from my childhood (I'm 28) it's wild that you didn't know they existed. I'm happy you know about them now they are so useful
Ngl seeing you make that piece at the end really reminds me that you don't need super expensive and fancy supplies to make good art, you just have to play to the strengths of what you do have, as well as your own strengths.
Rae, I wanted to say thank you because I was sobbing over nothing a few minutes ago while watching CZcams and right when ur video popped up it calmed me down and helped me so much thank you so much!
Omg... rae... touch new markers are a scam. There is a company that maked the same mid quality markers under variations of the same name. Touch, touch new, etc. They have been doing this for probably about a decade. Maybe more. And their markers are for beginners. So sad you fell for the entry level scam
Iknpw and they are such a rip-off
Touch cool also😅
I use touch five....
I use thouch morky ......
I actually switch from Touch markers to watercolors now, IM TIRED OF YHESE STUPID MARKERS
It’s funny since I actually have and bought some of these supplies before you made this video. I’d actually recommend buying the transparent Sticky Notes from Dollar Tree when they have them in the stationary section. You get 100 for $1.33. Legit bought five packs and it’s done wonders for my traditional art sketches since if I make something I dislike but can’t erase too well I can just draw over it. I can even use my double sided tape dispenser on them and pretty much fully stick it down
"Misleading and not truthful" the epitome of chinese business practices 😂 I'll definitely stick to my Ohuhu markers and I'm going to have to check out those extra tiny fine tip paint markers!
Ohuhu markers are made in China but they are better than most cheap alcohol markers
In Germany it was normal to exchange stickers in such sticker books in elementary school. I even have one from my mom from 2000. Everyone had one of those 😂
My favorite are the color pencils with multiple colors in the lead. There is a brand Koh-I-Noor that is famous for pencils like this. Id look at those for a wide variety and artist quality.
The sticker anxiety is REAL! As a kid I would tape a sticker to paper, then cut the paper to match the sticker, then tape the sticker to my desired location. 😂 So much work for a $0.50 sticker!
I've got the same brand of touch-one's, I still use them to this day which i mix with other brands of alcohol markers too (along w/sharpies & posca's).
The touch markers actually have more parts! The set on the advertisment have much more which is what I got, touch is good for some artist on budgets(Me) I can make some decent art with them.
LOL, those bastards showed a marker bag with 240 (15x16) markers in it! 🤣 My first thought when I saw the commercial was there is no way that's a bag with only 100 markers in it, and imo it was very obvious there are much more markers in that bag, so I had to pause the video and count the rows. 😆 To be fair, when you are not thinking about it it is indeed easy to be tricked into believing you are getting more than what you actually do, even with the number 100 being right there. 🙂
I counted too, I was SO mad 😄
I was wondering if I was the only one who did this.
Sticker books use to be so popular where I grew up in the 90s lol trading your friends for the ones you like! So fun!!
Woah the rainbow pencils are such a memory and im not even that old 😭 if you had one of those in primary school, everyone would want one. I remember how they had like the primary colours on specific sides of the tip so if yo only wanted one colour u had to tilt it to that side.
OH AND THE REUSABLE STICKERS, I havent heard of this stuff in like 10 yrs why havent I heard abt them until now??
I first saw those Grabie watercolors on Chloe Rose's page then ALLLL over Tiktok and now here. A few weeks ago I clicked on the little orange shopping cart on some girls page (I have no idea who) and got the set for $15.62. I have to say so far I like them. As far as those rainbow pencils, I already have a few rainbow pencils I don't use but you have inspired me to get them out and use them! So thanks! Also thanks for always showing us art supplies. I don't even think I could list all the things I have learned from you!
i had a sticker collection book when i was a kid. they were super popular in the 90s. i am excited to see blank sticker collection books are coming back
I’m totally getting those fine tip acrylic markers. I work with adolescents and we use a lot of paint/paint markers. Perfect for making holiday decor. Rae always doing us a solid by testing out products.
I actually bought the touch makrers, theyre so good for cheap cheap ones. You can use prismacolor pencils over the top. its good for laying base color
The rainbow pencils are so 90s - I had so many of them as a kid and thought they were the bomb!
Touch markers aren't new. They've been around a LONG time and are a typical marker that gets relabled often. I have a set from like 2012 that were Hobby Lobby branded "The Fine Touch" lol.
Oh so they weren't called Master's Touch yet?
@MxS1996 They're just a generic brand that other brands put their label on. ❤️
I can't be the only one who collected stickers as a kid and have known what a sticker book is for the last 35 or so years...
I still do! I have over 100 that's full😅❤
We had those multi color pencils and sticker book in the 80’s. I didn’t know they were a thing again.
THE QUEEN POSTED
Surely I wasn’t the only one who loved stickers and had a precious sticker collection in my two sticker books as a kid? 😅
There’s also a bunch of the multicolored pencils from various brands… Like Koh-i-noor
Why do none of these art suppliers arrange their colours in rainbow order 🤦🏻♀️😅😱 it drives me crazy haha!
First thing I do when I get new art supplies!!!
@@kattiepantsart same 😅🫣!
Grabie is definitely climbing those ranks fast.
I can't believe that you have missed out on the stickerbooks! It was the biggest hype ever when I was young (born in 96) and everyone traded stickers back and forth like crazy x3
96?!?!?! Or just born in 1996
Born in 1996 xD @@kayna_fire
Those rainbow color pencils remind me of my childhood. They were quite popular in the 90s.
That painting looks like a Christmas card! Really Beautiful!
those rainbow colored pencils gave me SUCH childhood nostalgia
Chloe Rose called the Grabie subscription box the worst she had seen. But their stand alone products seem to do better. As for the name, phonetically it would be like "gray bee" but I've only heard it said "grabby". So who knows 😅
The Alcohlic Markers from a Netherland Chain called Action has pretty amazing Quality for a cheap price the even better than my Wish Markers and they have been pretty surprisingly good. The Markers you got are the Touch ones i bought on wish
She is the reason I started painting
I've seen people use those multicolor pencils just for basic sketching. It's a fun way to jazz up a sketch. Otherwise, I don't see much use for them.
I love shuttle art, i have a set if their coloured pencils and i absolutely love them :)
There's also a watercolor set that has 128 color online. At least, where I shop online does. Different brand\store.
I did see one lady on Tiktok she unboxing a 160 watercolor set
I use clear sticky notes all the time for school and art! Love them
rae im really worried about you, you haven't posted in a month. I've been a fan for awhile and ago almost every day to check if you've posted again, I'm really worried and I hope your okay. please update us
You have made my day better. Haven't seen you in awhile and then you drop us with your presence on Thanksgiving. Well I am thankful for you today Rae. ❤️
I've drawn some illustrations with Touch markers, and I thought that the problem with blending was with my technique...cause it was my first experience with alcohol based markers. Now, I see that the problem is really with them
Rainbow pencils used to be all over the place when I was a kid! You could grab one for like 2-3 dollars, I had so many over the years😅 they were usually better quality than other pencils too
Over here the Grabie sets are really expensive but you can get identical sets with a different name at a quarter the price. Seems to be standard Chinese drop shipping.
yeah i have seen them all over AliExpress.
so they probably all got them from the same supplier but slapped their own design on the tin and such.
After seeing the Grabie watercolor set, I saw them on Amazon with a $25 Lightning Deal.....snagged those up for Black Friday
Additional comment on the sticky notes: you need to use specific pens or permanent markers to write anything on it. Do not use any water based pens or markers. It would not stay at all.
I just got that first Grabie water color set a couple of days ago! I love them!!! I always love your artwork as well!
I love the multicolor pencils! Those have been around forever, almost always in a suuuuper thick barrel. I used to sharpen mine either on the sidewalk or on my dad's bench grinder in the garage because they were too thick for any of my pencil sharpeners.
When I was younger, I used the paper covers you can get from any office supply shop and it worked perfectly
Rae have you seen the fluorescent transparent sticky notes AND the same kind of tape in neon colours and transparent material. I don't know if Temu do them but Amazon certainly does! They are a total gamchanger! Thanks for this video, it's awesome as are you! God bless you and your other half. Have a great weekend!
I love how she is always so confident and happy about her artwork❤❤
rae please let us know if your okay.
I have transparent sticky notes, I think its worth mentoining that theyre a plastic and the side you write on is lightly textured, giving it that papery feel. However, if you write in pen, as seen in the tik tok, you need to be careful what ink you use - ballpoint is thicker and works well, but more fluid inks will smear and bead.
I love how she creates something incredible every single time, with any art supply❤❤
Rae, whenever i watch your videos, you make me want to bust out of my art block and draw again. You’re so inspirational and great to watch, so thank you 💛
When rae posts i get the fattest smile of my face i love her videos so much
Your videos are always so amazing they always excite me up
I love my Grabie 100 watercolors! I've been using them for about a month and they have never let me down.
Thank god I saved sticker books from the 90’s because for some reason as stickers and bullet journaling was trending, the sticker books were absolutely non-existent. And a good one is hard to come by, idk why.
The final results is always iconic, your always someone I want to always watch when you come up with new content. Love your vibes and videos.
Grabie is a really good art brand. Haven’t used it but another CZcams artist, Scott Christian Sava, has used them and likes them. They’ve also donated to at risk LGBTQIA+ youths and has made a beginner watercolor set for 20$ (I believe it’s 20$). Similar to Ohuhu, they’re trying to make art supplies not only affordable but great quality as well.
Not gonna lie, that finished artwoork looks like it could make a cool holiday card cover
uggh i missed you girl.... i was rewatching your old videos from 5 years ago
I need a print of the art you made in this video! Love the snowy cabins!
My kid absolutely adores the water color palette.
Rae Always makes us happy
The Touch New/Five markers were actually my first set of markers. They are OK but I wanted brush nibs so quickly upgraded to Ohuhu and ended up donating these to my young nephew who loved joining me doing colouring when he was younger.
Those Grabie pens look *juicy*!! Not very often do you find good fine nibbed paint pens 🤔
YOU SHOULD SELL THAT FINISHED ART PEICE AS A STICKER!!!
I’ve gotten my reusable sticker book from Etsy and was able to pick what size I wanted
I'm agree with Rae that Touchnew marker blendability is 5/10
That makes Ohuhu marker
blendability looks more smoother in comparison
The art work is so pretty!!
We were using the transparent sticky notes when I was in college years ago. We would make little notes on them in the textbook to keep from marking the book up.
There are 15 rows with 16 columns in that alcohol marker pack. They didn't make it look bigger it actually is 😂
I've actually got a pack of watercplor paper postcards coming in the mail today from grabie- looking forward to seeing how they hold up!
you are a great artist! i’ve only discovered you recently and i’ve been binge watching your videos. ps. anyone notice that her artwork ended up being the exact opposite of the song that played during it? idk i just find that funny :-)
honestly can't believe how excited she gets over some things in her videos that have been around for years. I would have imagined she would have known about them given how old she looks.
We will always support you no matter what. Keep working hard as always.
Omg the artwork looks like an ideal Christmas card !! Love u Rae
i am so happy you made a video like this please continue to test tiktok art supplies I have been EYEYING them for so long thank you thank you thank you!!!
Finally i am early!! Also i love your videos
You do care about your channel and always willing to review stuff for us. We truly appreciate what you do.
I freaking love you. I just found ur channel the other day and i’m obsessed i love the way you do EVERYTHING it’s perf. YOURE AMAZING
Video idea : two pieces of art one made with the best of the best art supplies you bought (from you old video, hawl, test) and one with the worst of the worst ❤
Im surprised almost everything was decent. Tiktok being TikTok, i expected a worse outcome
I'm a kid of the 80s and we had reusable sticker books and rainbow pencils. Both aren't new but still cool.
We used to bring the sticker books to friends to trade stickers.
The chair holding her phone is just amazing
Thanks Rae Dizzle, I've been super curious about those Grabie watercolors.
I am more curious of 160 watercolor color from another brand
Rae you're my biggest inspiration, hope your channel keeps growing
.love you❤ and yes I liked my own comment
Okay I'll be honest. I got the grabie water colours and those are THE BEST water colours I've ever used! I mean as a water colour girly, this is the best ones! 100% recommend! they are SO saturated and pigmented! And the metallics are just another level of satisfaction!
