- Thanks to the Crazy Banana Peel, we have a video this week. ;) But seriously, I was quite impressed by these sets. I hope other brands take note and Crayola considers expanding the line even further to include other mediums.

Best comment ever!
Sucha mood 😂
so true bestie 😭😭
I feel mean robbing the kids but my remorse is short-lived.
Although a mood, but I would rather celebrate the children for having more diversity XD
It’s definitely an improvement on picking between peach, yellow, orange or brown as skin tones. As a kid so many of my drawings were Simpson yellow. I really wanna buy these now!
I was guilty of using yellow as well. haha kids these days will never know. XP

I used brown and for the lighter characters I tried to layer orange and yellow 😭

My 7 year old saw these when we were back to school shopping. She begged me for them. Said it was so she could draw her friend Emily better. Because there is no color for Emily in her regular box. I held back the tears and threw all 3 in my cart.
Wow your such a nice mother

aw. good.
Aw
That’s so sweet
I just bought these. My three year old gets frustrated when trying to color pictures of himself because he can’t find his shade. He was excited to swatch all the colors and found a perfect match in “light golden”. He put it in his “special box”.
I noticed the crayons break *easily* . I reenforced the unbroken ones after several snapped.
That's adorable. I never understood how they could have such a wide range of crayons but none that actually matched actual skin shades. I hope every kid can find their skin shade in these, or may be able to at least blend some together to create it.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 It’s strange it took so long considering crayons have been around since Ancient Greece, and markers, and colored pencils about 100 years. It’ll be interesting to see which products expand their definition of “skin tone” next.
I mean… crayons just break easily in general-
@@Lulu-Cat that’s true. However, these are noticeably more fragile.
but the light golden crayon on the swatch looks so much like the typical skin color on the regular crayon set.

As a kindergarten teacher I LOVE these crayons. The kids are excited when they can have a crayon that matches their complexion. Every year I make sure to buy a few boxes for my kids.
That’s awesome! 👏 you sound like a great teacher!
this makes me so happy because even as a POC when i was younger i was still calling the peach "skin color" and anytime i drew myself i just didnt color myself in
In primary school we had one peach pencil that everyone called “skin colour” (mostly white area) and it was very obvious for anyone who didn’t fit into that. I’m glad that they’re being more inclusive now!
I always thought that peach color was for white people...
At least that's what I thought!
@@sachicocoa9013 it is
I’m brown, so I had to use three shades higher brown than me in kindergarten, first grade. It’s was annoying because I looked black (not race but color) and my drawings would be the ugliest out of everyone else’s because my class is white. The fact that crayons did this is so relieving!

As a former child Crayola is literally the best crayon we were able to afford. Nothing ever came close.
If it wasn't for crayola my creativity would probably never have blossomed the way it did.
So glad they giving today's children the better experience.
Man, I remember being a super pale kid and having to leave my skin blank in self portraits bc peach was way too dark 😅
Same. Or I just had to color SO EXTREMELY LIGHTLY with either peach, orange, or maybe even brown (or maybe I would layer them to mix the “perfect” color) that you could barely see it, and if I accidentally colored slightly to dark in one area I would be just kind of disappointed and upset with myself and try and fix it (but I probably just made it worse lol). And I have red hair (but like this really weird shade and like 2 strands of my hair might look like they’re from 2 completely different people’s heads lol) so I would mix like the yellow and the red and the orange and the brown and everything to try and make my hair color because no matter what it just isn’t right. I STILL can’t ever get my hair color (even in digital art where I literally can make like almost any color possible)! Irish skin and red hair, it’s so annoying to draw lol 😂 I can never get the right colors!

I am definitely going to grab a pack of the pencils, there are never enough 'skin tones' shades and I'm not one of the wizards who can put down blue and green and have it magically turn into a gorgeously blended olive skintone (how the heck do they do that?!) 🤣
When I went to Wal-Mart-They didn't have the pencils-only the markers
Practice, and with light.. even.. layering. If you put down too much color, it will fill the papers tooth too much, and you wont be able too add the 2nd or 3rd colors on top. Leave some intentional white showing through on the first layer, which allows the next color to fill those areas in a bit more... and then some final heavier pressure, will help blend them together.
Its no nearly as hard as you think.

This is awesome! I recently picked up my 4 y/o from school, and she was upset because her coloring assignment said to use "skin tones." They were given a set of 8 crayons, and not a single one was dark gold/Brown. So, being African American, my daughter went in the box for the brown, but her teacher made her feel dumb and excluded because they were only supposed to use colors like peach and apricot aka "skin tones.' When I spoke to her teacher I was told that my daughter didn't understand the assignment. No miss Ranchard, YOU don't understand the assignment
That made me shiver. Pure idiocy, that teacher.
This is just disturbing. That ‘teacher’ does not deserve to influence children. I’d take that story to the school board
And it’s little things like that that change a kids whole worldview and perspective, too. It’s not until moments like that until they start to feel othered and gain self hatred. if every kid in the class is happily scribbling away and I’m getting yelled at for reaching for my skin tone crayon, I wouldn’t understand why and I’d hate myself for being “different” What the actual f-k

Ah, I love people that say that! It's just funny to me! Even as a small kid, I knew there was more than one skin color in the world, and I laughed every time I head someone say, "skin colored crayon/marker/pencil" and only mean pale white...
@@TheMagicPinecone ahah, we had a box of browns/peaches labled "SKIN COLOURS" and you just hand them the box
@@kwilesvolleyball2028 lucky me .~.
@@TheMagicPinecone In my elementary school, "skin color" was a peach tone that I don't think anyone really has without makeup.
The color “Almond” & all of the tones just gives me euphoria 😌✨
Well there are like 11 Almonds in this set so you gonna freak. XP 💜

Wow I'm really impressed by the range. They absolutely had a reason for mapping the colors out the way they did and it's pretty awesome how much variation an accuracy they managed ta get. Also your neutral lol js u look very neutral through the camera n neutral is a combination of warm n cool skin tones so it makes sense you could see yourself in all three lineups. I'm the same it took me a long while of staring at different skin tones for hours at a time to be able ta pick them out on sight lol.
When I was a kid I used to draw my friends in shades of purple and orange because they never had the right colors
This set is awesome
FINALLY NORMAL SKIN COLOUR CRAYONS, you know how many humans on My childhood i painted ORANGE?
ahhh yes, or blue, pink, yellow, grey, brings back memories
I would always mix yellow and orange
I was the only kid in my class when drawing people a bit darker than me to use brown peach and orange to make their exact skin color instead of just lightly coloring brown
Yes! I’d just mix orange and a light brown to make my skin color lol
for me i just used orange and then erased it afterwards and u end up with a peach looking effect, or u can just lightly color orange
As a person with a race that is genuinely a mystery..this was, weirdly refreshing? Just cool to actually see my skin tone around there
Oh haha me too, idk what my race is, I think that race is a western thing , we dont really have it or use it here
@@shmeepness1700 thats interesting, where are u from if u dont mind me asking?

They Had these in my school and I legit tried to take them home with me, I am grateful that I get a range of skin colors/colours
Your art style is so cute!!
My little sister can rarely create characters that look like her (or the people she knows) so I'm glad art materials like these exist--opens the door to creativity and diversity, which is great!

They are all beautiful colors, the brand knows how to create good things, I like how they make a section of each skin tone and its subtones. i definitely love this brand
I love how she also found the perfect color match for her hair!
Wow, I remember when I was a child and my only options for skin tones were paper white, kinda pink, pretty much orange, medium brown and really black. This is so cool :O
Ive been using the “colors of the world” pencils for a while and I think they work great especially on the budget I am on I would give it a 10/10
Same!! I normally use prisma colors but they have a *very* small skin tone selection so I loove these and they work/blend really well too! :)
your videos got me through boring classes & ISS in high school💓💕💕💕 i graduated in june! 2021💓
We bought the Crayola World Of Colours crayons colour pencils and markers. I love how many shades/tones are available now. Back in the day people were outline black, poo brown, lemon yellow, peach or KKK sheet white it sucked. Now only if the cosmetic industry could get on board with full colour spectrum shades/tones powders concealers and foundations.
When I was little I had a set of crayons like this called "people colors" - I can't express how ecstatic my younger self would have been to find something similar in marker or colored pencil form.
When she smacked the desk with her marker “wand”, a bright lively ad came up and it sounded really cool. Can’t believed i witnessed that-
I just got to that part and the ad was literally for the next fantastic beasts movie lol
I love the self portrait you made 😭🫶
My mum had a couple of skin-tone pencils when I was a kid and I had to ask her special permission to use them cause they were “fancy pencils” cause no one made skin-tone supplies! Only my best drawings got to be actual human colours all the rest were mostly Simpson yellow.
