- Peter Baumann (born January 29, 1953, in Berlin) formed the core line-up of the pioneering German electronic group Tangerine Dream with Edgar Froese and Christopher Franke in 1971. Baumann composed his first solo album in 1976, while still touring with the band, and embarked on a solo career in 1977.
Since the early 2000s, Baumann has devoted his time to studying and promoting initiatives in science and philosophy that shed light on the human condition. - Hudba
This is the real essence from the eighties!!
This video is so perfect 80s new wave in so many ways, it's its own time capsule.
There's a better quality version of the video here: czcams.com/video/Umkoxvi0QC4/video.html
The greatest of times...
First time listening 🎧 to this ❤ where has it been all my life? I'm such an 80s girl!! ❤❤❤❤
QUÉ BUENA!!!!! Hacía años que no la oía!!! 💜🎶🎵💙💜🎶🎵💙💜🎶🎵💙
La encontré! Temazo.
Peter Baumann, genio
Una atrevimiento musical muy conseguido, suena mb
Here in Chicago there was a music video channel that had a half hour show in the afternoon after school. This would be “back in the day”. This was on steady rotation. Always loved the song. Still have a 12” remix that I found somewhere.
The shapes remind me of the old Electric Arts logo when they made video games .
Yeah you're right!
that's exactly what I was thinking.
Now it's 2019 and all they make is slot machines disguised as video games.

Peter Baumann left Tangerine Dream....for a solo career at the end of the 70's ...He became a new wave artist ...This second career had no success at all - anyway he was a pioneer of eletronic music..During the 80's he founded an important new age label , "Private music". During the 90's he left music business. Interesting life
He came back, though, with the "Machines Of Desire" album in 2016, and the "Neuland" album with Paul Haslinger. Both are awesome.
new wave yeahhh.. so refreshing then
Ideal :) thanks for this
Excellent 😊😊😊
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag :-)
The vocalist is Eli Holland, not Peter Baumann. www.bandmix.com/eli-holland/
super track...superinis..
Perfect lyrics!
The lyrics are the same from the original song "Strangers In The Night", immortalized by the now mortal Frank Sinatra.
Only the music is different
I never heard this song before. Very good one. Was he a member of Tangerine dream?
Yes during the 70's he was member of Tangerine Drram with Froese and Franke....it was the "historical" lineup
He programmed sequencers and wrote keyboard parts for TG, yes. A founding member.
Still no cd release ! My vinyl copy has to suffice .
Makes me wonder how SomaFM got it
ТОР ТОПЫЧ
2:11 I could swear that was the Boston V66 logo
Gary Numan eat your heart out - PB is one of the great creatives alongside Edgar F.
This has the feel of Kraftwerk.........
how did you find this!
anyone know if this got any chart action? i'd never heard the song before but it fits right into the stuff on the charts at the time
The only chart action this song received was for Sinatra. What Frank must have thought of this God only knows..
@@paulwelch1992 lol, yeah i meant this actual version though, Frank would be rolling in his grave at this!
This cover was something that ppl who went klubbing in new wave bars listened to. I started humming this today and wondered who did the upbeat speedy version I recall listening to on my Sony Walkman. Isn’t the internet uhmazing! 😝
Used to have the 12 inch of this and fotgot all about it till i heard Afrika Bambaataa world destruction the other day with its eins die trie friere sample off it
Strange the pyramids upside down...didn't use to be. Still a great track.
Sounds like italo-disco.
0:33 The surprising appearance of Jani VolanenXD
There appear to be two slightly different version of this video. This is the other one: czcams.com/video/Umkoxvi0QC4/video.html
The other one was edited to remove the "sharing love" line. Watch his lips when the lyric is supposed to hit. And the splice-in leads to an extra chorus. Awful editing and I have no idea why. My guess would be foreign country with stricter content laws. It's a butchering of the song.
@@marcd2936 Thanks for all the info, it's very interesting. Unfortunately the link I posted is the only one with a crystal-clear picture. This one is a bit fuzzy. I've always been a big fan of early/mid 80s videos, but I didn't discover this one until a few months ago.
@@ajs41 You're right - the video quality is worse here. But I have to link to this one, because it's the way Baumann intended the song to sound. It's also criminal this hasn't been released on CD yet.
2:11 It's the V66 logo!
strange! ;)

Man I used to get so high in the 80's that I'd make out with bag ladies and think they were super models! Is this video making fun of ugly chicks? Hmmm.
frank sinatra strangers in the night
1:29 Gary Numan called, he said quit biting
