That tackle occurred because Haaland did exactly the same thing to Roy the season before and Roy was off for several months as a result , when Halland made the tackle he stood over Roy and gave him some abuse . All Roy did was give him some of his own medicine in return .

It depends. I find his grumpy ruthlessness somewhat refreshing, a ray of sunshine of a different variety maybe. I've not had a lot of conversations with people about Roy Keane, so I don't really know what others think about him, hence why I asked if the original comment was sarcasm or not.

I saw him in possibly his first ever Forest match in a preseason friendly against a local non league side and managed to get Cloughys autograph. Brilliant.

Totally.. Even as recently as 2005... Maldini, Costacurta, Davids, Zanetti, Keane, Ballack, Zidane, Figo, Lampard... Those were a joy to watch not least because you knew their personalities and idiosyncracies... They had character... Today its so different... Its also because they are so young now I think.. Milan team had so many players above 30... REtiring at 37 was normal.
Roy is great. He is like a grumpy Dad that doesn't get the younger generation and freely admits he doesn't want to. I get where he is coming from. His Overlap walk in the park with Gary that just came out is one of the best things I have watched on youtube. These guys were great.

Got to say, the more I see about Roy Keane, and the more I appreciate how great a player he was and an absolute professional, I can't imagine he was any fun to be around. He doesn't seem to have any humour, no way of blending with a team mate. Even as a pundit, he feels he has to maintain a hard man image which he doesn't. As one of the best players of his generation I want to know what he thinks a team does well and christ a smile wouldn't kill the guy.
