TRUST ME ON THIS ONE MY MUSIC LOVIN BROTHER,, LYNYRD SKYNYRD "ON THE HUNT"
Did you notice your high note IS the key of that song?
But keep your money in your pockets. This is all about money and an easy way for some people to relieve you of yours. Don't be naive. Go back and look at all of the videos being reacted on in the beginning and notice all of the reactors said the exact same words to the exact same videos. Every one. For the most part I didn't care as long as we're all having fun and interacting with each other. But its getting harder for some of them to play act and hide their true feelings. Quit being blind, deaf and dumb to whats been happening for a long time. And for God's sake, keep your money in your pockets.
@@Looneyintheboonies ALL of youtube is a business and we know, it's not a conspiracy. As far as the same things being said in reaction to music, that's how you know the message was effectively sung and played. That your listeners and fans (as a musician) get it.
Put the same set of lyrics in front of ten ppl and 7 will get the same message.
@@NotBenCoultry The exact same words I'm referring to are, "I don't mean to sound racist.. this isn't a racist thing... but I thought they were black. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, no way... I would have never guessed they weren't black." This was said to the Bee Gees, the Righteous Brothers... by one reactor after another. I'm positive that wasn't the message in the song. And no race has a corner on the market for having a soul and singing with it. I think some reactors are sincere and are genuinely interested in exchanging music and knowledge of each other. But I watched one of the LFR reactors listening to Freebird and saying way to quick "I hear 3 guitars, yes I hear 3 guitars" in the beginning part when only the slide is being played. It was so phony, and he never made another comment except when he thought it was over and he could not hide his boredom or disdain. He was completely fake and I hope no one actually paid him money to do that. Now, I love little Jojo, he is adorable. But I'm not convinced he's not pulling our leg either, but he's not mean spirited, he's precious. This other guy couldn't hide his disdain though. I've seen others like that too. I really like Jamel a.k.a. Jamal. He's honest, I believe. And nice. But I'm not wearing blinders to how this started out.
I am 67 years old and it is a lot of fun watching young people enjoy such great music that was a big part of my life.
So F-ing cool, to see folks in the LFR Family digging Skynyrd. Best southern rock band of all time in my opinion... and white, black or any other color: THIS is all-🇺🇲 music that just is not created anymore in our 21st century society.
Thank you for your support Bodin!
as good as they were and as much as I like their stuff I have to rank Allman Brothers Love at the Fillmore higher for the simple fact that when one listens to Whippin Post composed by Gregg Allman not even 22 yr old, and playing organ and singing the most soulful vocals it just moves me- and much as I like Gimme 3 Steps I am moved more by Simple Man
If you love LS check out Blackberry Smoke! I think they’re the best Southern rock band since LS!
Thats the drummer playing that cowbell i think. Artimus Pyle! He was one of the survivors of the plane crash and was the one who ran to get help. Amazing drummer!
You are correct, to the best of my recollection. He was the one and only percussionist in the band... lol
No, that's Bob Burns. Artimus didn't join until later in their career.
@@TheBlackQueen i bet bob played the cowbell in live concerts but the congos were put in when they were recording the album. Ive never seen a percussionist play on stage with them.
I thought JoJo the back up singer played the ciwbell. I know she did on other songs.
don't know if she did on this song.
I grew up listening to these guys. Love them and miss them all the time!
That is 70's rock & roll at it's finest.
You got to love the storytelling in these songs. You can close your eyes and just see it happening like you are right there with him
Dude, every rock band's drummer has a cowbell on his drumkit. every one!
as or has ?
@@joshsheffield680 all fixed
Lynyrd Skynrd is from the seventies. An era of guitar bands and musicians who could actually play instruments and compose musical notes. Write lyrics with hooks, bridges, and choruses. That's the formula.
Today's music is god awful because the artists have no talent. No one, and I mean no one, is going to be reacting to today's music fifty years from now.
BOL That's so damn mean David. LOL But I appreciate your truth and passion for Great Music.
@@LFRFAMILY it's "mean" but true. We will never again see a Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Lynyrd Skynrd.
@@davidhapka5410 Thank God we still have Tool. The closest thing to any of those bands, they’ve been holding down the fort since 1990.
@@wichitadisciple9874 and don't forget Disturbed also and yes I would say for sure Tool as well. Their song Aenima is awesome and so is their drummer as well
Music back then had stories to tell, also with todays music the hook on average comes sooner, which makes the song feel short with no substance.
The lyrical content and the a awesome guitar playing of Gary Rossington & Allen Collins is what makes them special
Bro, you were so focused on the cowbell you completely overlooked the storytelling that was going on, LOL! The cowbell is on point, tho!
And it's a great story 😃
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know my man. I plan on listening again while I'm in my basement or driving.
Skynyrd is great for a long drive. You're at your destination before you know it. If YT allows, it's great to watch these boys live.
@@LFRFAMILY All good!
Ronnie Van Zant was a genius at lyrics. His band mates have said in interviews how blown away they were that Ronnie could take a common everyday incident and write a complete song about it.
“A little Georgia honky tonk!”-Ronnie Van Zant
Thank you!!!
@@LFRFAMILY no problem fam! Love the videos! If you want another good Skynyrd song you should check out “on the hunt”
@@thecausalgamer7916 on the hunt and was I right or wrong are the best 2 songs no one talks about from them
@@kennyseabolt6251 don’t forget about “am i losing”
@@kennyseabolt6251 The Needle and the Spoon as well.
Truly great band Lynyrd Skynyrd where! Thank you brother.
Peace and love from Greece 🇬🇷
*WOW!!! I now have family in GREECE! So Dope!*
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME OMG!!! they don't make em like this anymore
Feel like I'm in my car, jam Skynyrd while driving. 😊❣️ Free bird was my high school class song way back in '78.
So Patricia are you saying I should only do CAR TEST Reactions to Lynyrd Skynyrd? Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@LFRFAMILY No, not at all. I just am always playing music when I drive...old habits. 😊❤️
I'm always listening to Ronnie and the guys in the car. Brings back great memories. 😊
@@vernacohen6988 Yes, it does... thanks.😊
Me too, Patricia. 😂🌸✌🏼
I was a 17 year old dishwasher at pizza hut in 1994 jamming out to this when my 50 year old manager came around the corner and turned the radio up max volume, she said “you can play Skynyrd anytime”!!!
-
I’m 45 now, still a great song, still jamming.
Thank you for listening to this one.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is what many classify as southern rock. The band started in Jacksonville, FL.
You and Jojo are just reliving my youth the past few weeks. I would love to see you do "That Smell" from Skynyrd. It is about their guitarist Gary Rossington getting high and drunk and crashing his Ford Torino. Skynyrd has many great ones.
*I got you Shear Genius!!! And thank you for ALL your support. We really appreciate you for really tho.*
Shear Madness, hello and I know what you're talking about. Skynyrd was the stuff in the seventies, and can't be beat. I miss those guys, they were going to make a stop here in Chattanooga after Nashville on the Street Survivors Tour. Never made it unfortunately and I will never forget what all went down. Thank you for the memories. ✌️&🤘 Brother Gary
When this song comes on...I gotta dance lol. One of the best all time bands
What Ronnie wrote was ALWAYS real. The story in the song actually happened to him. He was actually dancing with a girl in a bar called "The Jug when her jealous husband walked in waving a gun at Ronnie.
My dad was a BIG lynyrd Skynyrd fan he played this record so much when him.and my mom got married. Story goes when she was pregnant with me he played this song alot, I would go crazy in her stomach every time once the song was over I wouldn't move. They are n y favorite band to this day it's in my DNA
About a guy messin' with a woman at a bar, but didn't know she was already hooked up. He was beggin' her man to give him a three step head start to start runnin' for the door to get the hell out the door and not get shot.
BOL He didn't disrespect his lady though. Why would he get shot? Sheesh
1) " In walked a man with a gun in his hand and he was looking for you know who." (Me. The guy telling the story-Ronnie Van Zant).
2) "That's my woman there and this might be all for you."
3) He does mention (hubby?) had a .44
4) "Gimme three steps, gimme three steps mister, gimme three steps towards the door and you won't see me no more."
I guess Linda Lou wasn't worth getting shot over by a jealous husband ( or boyfriend).
Bob Burns was the drummer on this album, and he did play bongos and cow bell. Not sure how they did it live. He got killed in a car wreck, here in Georgia just a couple of years ago. The drummer who took his place back in the 70s, Artimus Pyle is still alive.
Bob Burns beating those drums like they owed him money
That intro to “I Ain’t the One” is an instant classic. My favorite drum intro of all time. It’s said that Artimus had trouble playing with Bob’s feel on the older songs, but he is no slouch either. Artimus’ work on “Saturday Night Special” is remarkable along with many others.
Bob’s sound and groove was MUCH better for the band. Artimus is a great drummer, more “skilled” than Bob, I guess. But he played too busy, for my taste at least . More of a “drummer’s drummer,” as they say.
Actually the percussionist playing the Congos was a Black girl from Detroit named Bobbye Hall.
She had quite the career providing backup percussion for some of the biggest bands in the 70's!
(The reason I mentioned that she was Black is to try to show that Skynyrd wasn't a "racist" band like a few critics tried to label them).
Yea, the percussion is cool in this song but let's take a moment to appreciate the bass line. So melodic and it carries the song. RIP Leon Wilkeson.
Actually on this album, Ed King was playing the Bass. Leon had briefly left the band.
Such a hype song!!! Love skynard❤️
Have always loved the ability to tel a story that these guys have ❤️❤️
"Show me the backdoor"🤣
Linda Lou here ❤ and everything about them makes them great. This band has a music catalogue to keep you busy for a long time.🔥🔥🔥
Want Cowbell? Listen to...
Blue Oyser Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper
Queens of the Stone Age - Little Sister
Grand Funk Railroad - American Band
Nazareth- Hair of the Dog
These will get ya started lol
Over the top cowbell?
Thorazine Shuffel -Gov't Mule
Yes definitely check out Hair of the Dog if you like the cowbell
Someone may have already mentioned this, but did you know they got their name from a teacher that told them their music would never get them anywhere in life. The teacher did live long enough to see them become famous. They are the icons of Southern Rock. Part, blues, country, and rock.
He was the coach at Lee High School… my Great aunt Mabel taught English there, and didn’t like him either
Always loved this song they were Southern Rockers and very supportive of the Military.
They are probably my favorite band next to Sabbath and to answer the question why are they special, and honestly I think because they always spoke the truth and kept it real asf! Everybody can relate to a Skynyrd song!
I’ve seen Skynyrd many times and that song never failed to light the room on fire. It’s more fun than I could possibly describe . Thanks for the good feels. ✌🏼🍑❤️
Ronnie Van Zant was a natural storyteller that just had a way with words
Love this song!! My mama's name was Linda Lou so we always used to tease her with this song. Great song pick and reaction!! 🙂
My Momma was Linda Sue but we always said Lou just to mess with her...god how I miss her
@@andibobo3102 I miss my mom every day to, but having such great memories of her help.
The cowbell player is a black lady named Bobbie Hall, she's a percussionist
Bobbye Hall! We have a winner!
See that there!?!?!?!? BLACK & she has my same LAST NAME! Explains my immediate connection. LOL Thank you for answering my question Chris.
@@LFRFAMILY Rock on with your bad self
Skynyrd puts a smile on your face and deep thoughts in your head
Wow. This takes me back to my teen age years. I love this song.
Best southern rock! My husband used to hang out at The Jug. The club they are talking about. He was from Jacksonville. He took me to the graves and showed me where Allen Collins had his wreck. At this time, 3 guitar players, 1 vocalist, 3 back up singers, piano player ( I'm talking baby grand!) 1 drummer, bass player
Wasn’t the wreck in Fruit Cove or Switzerland? South of Mandarin anyway. I was in high school, so it was a while ago
I love this music it never gets old
Thank you! I've heard the cowbell part of this, but you helped me hear the rest of the percussion really for the first time. Rock on.
“Searchin’ or “On The Hunt” next 🔥
Bro you gotta hear the live version of this song. AMAZING!!!!
You are so fun. One of life's greatest pleasures is listening to music and I love the times I get to share music with friends and family. So, this is a special show and your good heart and mind shine. XO
Wow, thank you Smokey!!
when i saw them they had 3 guitar players 2 drummers 2 more playing tambourines and cowbell and 4 back up singers im missing someone. Awesome
Best band hands down!!!!
Okay, this is great. I'm an old man who listened to these guys as kid --and never noticed the cowbell before! Thanks! That was a kickass analysis.
I got the need for more Cow Bell 🔔
🤣
@@peggygallagher5802 Christopher walken said it on SNL . We need Cowbell , NOW !

@@whofactchecksthefactcheckers Let's get off the Cowbell- not funny anymore. Seriously, just take a few and watch NF "Why Did You Leave Us?" Promise you'll be a different person...
all time best southern rock band! and i'm so amazed your on that cow bell. love it. you know the amazing music
U must watch them live in concert. They have 3 lead guitarist. One of the great bands from the south. Southern rock!!!
Tuesday's gone with the wind is a must listen to song.
The cowbell is on the drum set so that drummer is doing it all. Great band.
The cowbelliest song ever is hair of the dog by Nazareth...youll love them
The Rolling Stones
Honky Tonk Women haa pure cowbells!
Call Me The Breeze!
Studio remastered bro
Love your reactions. I saw them overseas in 76. They were getting pretty buzzed on German beer. Great concert.
If the drummer Bob Burns played congas ,it was overdubbed track recorded but he did not play congas ..I met the drummers son that worked in a Denny's in Jacksonville Florida ..The congas player was Bobbye Bobby Jean Hall who was born in Detroit, Michigan, and began her career there playing percussion in nightclubs while still in her teens. While playing at the 20 Grand nightclub in 1961 she was approached by Motown arranger Paul Riser to play on a recording session.[
Sweet home Alabama Lynyrd Skynyrd
In 45 years of hearing this song,I never knew there was a cowbell!!!! Lol
I love how LFR Family zeroes in on the cowbell. More cowbell! This a very fun and catchy Lynyrd Skynyrd hit. Love the review.
The 1960s through 1980s were a true embarrassment of riches when it came to the greatest rock and roll ever recorded! Skynyrd was absolutely one of the best and _the_ best Southern Rock band ever! Period.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is from Jacksonville, Florida the city where I was born and raised their music was called Southern Rock
904
Whooooooooo! Look at you in your little studio. So frippin' cool. Yep, Skynyrd is the SHtuff! Now try Georgia Peaches or Gimme back my bullets...and that cowbell is Artemis Pyle doin' the dang thang. Dig up a video. Artemis used to mount his bell over his HH.
watch this video back.. notice how your dancing in your seat? that's what makes Lynyrd Skynyrd special.. it's southern Rock N' Roll for everyone about real people and real stories!
Bro as far a Skynard goes you gotta check out "The Needle and the Spoon" low key killer tune and very underrated
Mississippi kid too
Needle and the Spoon is awesome. Would be a great one to react to.
Bob Burns was the drummer on this cut. He couldn't take the stress of constant touring. He was replaced by Artemis Pyle.
To this day if the situation is right I’ll say “I said excuuuuse me” 🤣🤣🤣
YES SIR ❤️
The cowbell player is the drummer as well, so the cowbell is located to the left of the snare drum. There is a separate Congo player in the background. The current drummer is Michael Cartellone. The original drummer for this song was Bob Burns, who passed away in 2015.
I love this song because he doesnt play the hero, he runs screaming.
Remember what I was telling you all their songs is things that happened to them in real life then they wrote a song about it that’s what makes them so much more great
They used to play a little joint on the west end of Jacksonville called The Still that had a dance floor. ("Cutting the rug at a place called The Jug) If you were stage right, it was exactly 3 running steps to the door. The son of the teacher they named the band after bought the place in the 80's and now it's a strip club called Leonard Skinner's.
It was their gym coach lol
The cowbell is part of Artimus’ drum kit. He is awesome
One of my favorite songs by them besides "Tuesday's Gone"
I just love Van!! Lol, watching him react just gives you such a good, happy feeling!!
best band ever
Van love watching your reaction to this type of music. I am 70 + so this was my young adult life glad you bringing it forward to a diverse audience to enjoy
Bob Burns was the drummer at the time. He was playing the cowbell on the kit
so awesome to see! thank you so much for making that!
You might be a drum people, but you are my kind of people. I can't stop watching y'all.
Look up Will Ferrell's cow bell skit on SNL. legendary band here. Real southern rock. Great reaction.
He mentioned Will Ferell so im pretty sure he's seen it.
I'm glad you notices how great the percussionist was. I'm surprised you didn't notice the lyrics were about trying to avoid being shot.
The drummer is hittin that cow bell!
I hear these guys and I just want to go out to a dive bar and dance!!
"Who's on cowbell?"
None of those pictured on the thumbnail shown.
This is the originally recorded, Al Kooper produced band.
Call Me The Breeze!
Remastered studio bro
Excellent recommendation.
Billy Powell really nailed it with that solo.
This song was written about an event at a bar in jacksonville fl. The bar is still open and goes by 3 steps bar now
Love this band you should react 2 "that smell" ," simple man", if I leave here tommorrow" great songs by them
Saw them twice once in 76 then in 77. Yea they were that good. Wide a new blue jean jumpsuit. My skin was blue when I took it off. Pure jumpin rock and roll.
Still my favorite band 40 years later.
Thank You..
Love me some Skynyrd....
I can still remember 7th grade and singing this with my sister walking to school
Always disappoints me that people don’t react to “I said, excuse me…” and “Show me the back door.” But I guess we all have our…whatever’s. ❤️
I think you would love “Call me the Breeze” by Leonard Skynyrd which is such a groovy southern rock song with a great guitar solo and an even better piano solo !!..awesome reaction dad !!
Awesome? He didn't say a word about the song. Not a word. He interrupted at one point to show a cd or something. Watch and quit being naive. He focused on the cowbell to have something to talk about waiting for it to be over. Keep your money in your pockets. Go back and look. Every single reactor said the exact same words to the exact same videos in the beginning. Exact. He doesn't give a rats ass for Lynyrd Skynryd or any other mostly or all white band. He's making money off of nice people who can't see the forest for the trees. For the most part, as long as it gets us to interact, I don't care, but make no mistake...this is all about money.
JJ Cale.
27th like 👍 From someone who currently lives on the same street two of the members grew up on🤠
Saw them in concert twice and it was awesome
Man I love your reactions You make me laugh so hard I appreciate how you break it down for everyone This is the greatest Rockin Roll band to ever do it How many bands can you think of that every song they ever done that you can relate to in some way and on top of all of this all of there songs except for two or three was written by Ronnie Van Zant and Garry Rossington and Collins and they wrote all of these songs from about 1972 to 1977 They have so many great songs it is almost unbelievable that they could have so many great songs in this short time
One of my karaoke favorites
For your cowbell obsessions listen to Grandfunk Railroad- We're an American Band
YES!!!!
Greatest Band Of All Time
As TYY SUBS said a cowbell was standard equipment in old rock band. It was usually mounted on the base drum.
I just came across your page and I'm going to subscribe because your smile is FANTASTIC!
I swear this song is written about my buddys mom! Her name is Linda and she lives across from a little bar in North Florida called the Jug🤣🤣🤣 and yes she was there in the 1970's
