There's a good chance that some of the guys Batman killed had mothers named Martha.

It's not that their mother's had the same name. That's what makes batman hesitate/pause briefly as he is rememberin his own mother. When batman realizes that's superman's mother, he doesn't view him as an "alien" anymore. He realizes superman has a mother on earth and that he cares more about humans and our planet than what batman initially thought. It humanized superman in the eyes of batman.

Snyder was promoting Watchmen at the time he said that.
He was upset that people were saying Batman Begins was realistic because he felt that since there was no threat of Batman being raped in prison, it wasn't realistic, dark, or gritty.
On the other hand, Batman could *totally* get raped in his movie, so *his* movie is *really* dark and realistic and stuff!

This is still my favorite Honest Trailer to this day. They didn't hold back at all when covering this movie, and the fact that they made an extended version just proves how much material the movie gave them to poke fun at.

DC casting is insane. Apparently, Jesse Eisenberg came in giving a pretty decent Joker performance and they went "LEX LUTHOR: NAILED IT." Then dumped a bag of hot topic accessories in front of Jared Leto and told him to use them as character motivation.
Sometimes, I think they didn't even try at all. They are too busy trying hard to be something they are not...
But Jared's Joker was perfect. Wish his role was longer tho

Part of this is the fault of DC itself, who keep injecting 2005 era hot topic and nu-metal aesthetics into their characters, especially Harley Quinn.

Their movie all have that vibe; they might think its cool and edgy because popular movies like Now You See Me and Nerve are doing it, but it doesn't work if everything is not put together. Yes! The commercials and whatnot really showboated Harley Quinn as this. It's pathetic. DC is really trying to be something they are not and because of it, they are having films like BVS. Suicide Squad is okay film but meh it could have been a lot better.
I am with the critics on this one( and I am a DC huge DC fan). These people literally destroyed a film that had so much potential. There was so much potential, all wasted by haphazardly put together characters and bizarre story telling.

The snyder cut was finally putting things back on track, although I am not entirely sure it was a great movie, it was ten times better than josstice league, now snyder is no longer involved with the DCEU, meaning that the tone these movies are going to take will change a lot.
I heard there was an internal war between WARNER and AT&T, AT&T were the ones to approve the snyder cut, but the people in WARNER were not very happy about it, they support movies like WonderWoman 84, and if that is the direction they want DC movies to take, then that's it, the DCEU is doomed.
This video said it so well. They rushed atleast multiple good movies to put it all in this one. Marvel also started bad. All the Iron man movies, the first two thor movies, the first captain america, and age of ultron were bad. But they were setting the stage for some greater good. Endgame wasn't the best movie they made, but the building up of 22 movies made it the epic conclusion it is today. Dc should do their own thing and not try to make another mcu.
The Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Shazam tone wouldve work. These movies should be entertaining, snyder tends to make everything looks serious and gritty. Not everything should be about grief, pain, sad and suffering. My god I barely see superman smile or have fun interaction with other members of justice league.

Honestly the scene in the beginning when Bruce's parents got shot, where the pearls went flying and stuff was pretty cinematically amazing.
Because since then they've always done the pearls. personally....I didn't like it. It felt very...I don't know, try hard in my opinion. The fact Thomas wayne goes for Joe Chill, or how Martha kinda does to, and the pearls just happen to go between the hammer and the chamber. It kinda screamed "I have to make this better than the other times somehow." And its a scene made worse by "Martha!" because then it becomes clear the only reason Thomas Wayne says Martha before dying, despite pretty much every other Wayne death having no last words, they made Thomas say something for the sake of the audience going OHHHHH! I GET IT, when the scene happens.

Batman is also sucking at his detective job by not figuring out what kind of threat Superman is until he finds out his mom's name is Martha. The biggest plot holes in this movie are actually how incompetent the heroes are at the things that are traditionally their characters' strengths.

I never liked this movie or got into the DC stuff all that much. I'm a Marvel guy through and through, grew up with the MCU from its earliest days and before, with Spiderman, the Fantastic 4, the X-Men and everything. Never missed an MCU release in the theater right up through Endgame, which exceeded all my expectations. No Way Home was everything I'd wanted it to be and more. And now, it is with a heavy heart that I admit that the MCU 100% deserves all the hits it's taken recently.
