In fairness, I did get a refund before I ever posted either video. So while they refuse to admit any fault (even after posting this video) they at least didn't leave me with an unusable product and $200 lighter. Not that I'm defending the product, or their apparent lack of QC gauging other than "well it fits in OUR uppers..." (the implication being that they don't gauge the uppers either.)
KE Arms makes junk.

Why don't they measure the BCG, instead of just testing it in their uppers that's likely out of spec as well?

Good video thanks for the heads up, I think we have lost some quality control these days I get that everyone is pumping out products as fast as they can but they also need to take the time to inspect once in a while.

Love KE Arms, really like their trigger packs and customer service, but it's for this reason I plan to opt for a BCM Phosphate BCG head spaced to a Criterion barrel that'll go on a BCM upper.
How do you headspace an AR platform?

Great video/s : I have had my share of issues with KE Arms (9mm) parts, fortunately we sent them back to the distributor to deal with.

What's disheartening is instead of listening to the customer and remedying their dissatisfaction, or at the very least, investigating it thoroughly, they chose to go on the offensive. Not good optics. Knowing that consumers have so many options available to us, WHY would they choose that route??? Nail and coffin situation, I'm thinking. Guess which BCG's I won't be considering??? And here Young Mfg's BCG was on my short list of BCGs I was thinking about, along with Expo, Forward Control, LMT "Enhanced", and KAC '"Sandcutter". I have six builds that I in the process of spec'ing out and the BCG's were the last piece. Thanks for making this video, you helped me dodge a bullet. Pun intended.
Yeah, it seems they dug the hole deeper with the implication that their out of spec BCGs fit just fine in _their_ uppers...which would seem to indicate that their uppers are out of spec in the same direction.
Great job, very thorough. I guess everyone is allowed to make a mistake now, and again, but they might have handled that better.
The larger problem I see with this company is that he knowingly turned around and resold a bad part to likely an unsuspecting customer that's going to prematurely wear out his A/R or worse destroy the A/R and possibly cause bodily injury and or death! A company that will do that instead of just throwing a $200 part in the garbage tells me everything I need to know, not to mention the liability they face as a company! And you put all the evidence a victim needs on CZcams.
The apathy is just incredible.
Judging by the chromed screws, exterior finish and the way "MP" is stamped on the bolt I'd wager that chrome BCG made by MicroBest. Expo Arms and PK firearms sell that same BCG for cheaper FYI.
Heard nothing but good things about Microbest in my research, and they are less expensive.
Welp, I guess it's time to scratch Young AND KEA off the GTG List. That's too bad.

Tolerance stacking is such an incredibly stupid reply. It shows how little they know about the platform and how little care they operate their company with.
Someone needs to tell that guy that this isn’t the 1700’s anymore with cottage industry. I should be able to take any AR-15 BCG and fit it any Upper. If it doesn’t, one of the two is messed up. Either your shit is in Spec or it’s garbage.
Have you played with their KP-15 lower?
Quite a bit. They fit really tight on all of my uppers, but not unreasonably so.
so it seems that there are issues with the young mfg bcg. there MAY be some tolerence stacking, but it does also seem that there are some QA /QC things not happening as they should. could some of this be due to moving the company and supply chain issues that happened? regardless, this is unfortunate. i was going to go with one of thier BCGs. now either going with a BRT or Lantac bolt. still confused on NiB vs chrome or even DLC
Re: tolerance stacking - this video explains clearly why that isn't a thing. The tolerances of the M4 TDP allow the extremes of sizes to still work together. This is on purpose so you can put them together like legos without hand-fitting, otherwise they'd never be able to mass produce them.
@@ShadetreeArmorer yeah the TDP is for specifically that. i am thinking its more on thier side because something is out of wack, so to speak. like how whatever they check against isnt calibrated right and its not in spec enough so while it works for them, its not within tolerce with others. still gonna go with a different BCG thats not a young mfg.
How has the brt bcg held up. Interested in getting one.
So far so good, but I have maybe 100 rounds on it. My highest round count BCGs are BCM and DD, and I can recommend those with the caveat that all of mine are several years old and the current production may not reflect what's currently available.
My go to are my dd scionics and bcm. I have been looking at brt because I have wanted a chrome bcg. Also they are sold by fcd also fcd is always out of their bcg
@@justindawn3428 I don't know whether to take FCD selling BRT's stuff as an endorsement or not. You should add LMT to your list, they make a decent mil-spec style BCG.
I agree about lmt. Same issue theur enhances is never in stock and pricey. Been looking at jp as well. Everyrhing else I have from them is top notch. Waiting for their 308 barrel to come back. Just bought a few of bcm blem upper recievers for 60 bucks a piece can't beat it

I'd stay away from KE Arms. Not just because of the trash tolerances, but because they were on reddit talking about arming as many "furries" as they can.
