    Your method is very good. It doesn't explain much and then it's done. I like it this way. Not talking, just saliva all over the place.

    You got bigger balls than me.. just watching that huge hole between the floorboard and the firewall was giving me anxiety.
    I’ll tell you what!
    that was very inspirational.
    Keep up the good work my man.

    Great patience, not sure how you don’t get overwhelmed. Loved the POV shots and always enjoy the different sounds. Good work!

    G'Day mate. You're into the thick of it now! Not sure if I mentioned these CZcamsrs before but - Fitzees Fabrications and then Yorkshire Car Restorations, both show some great metal fab work. Your POV vision is great. Cheers from Tasmania

      I have actually seen both of them a bit already! Appreciate the comment!

    This is the part of the restoration that keeps me from trying one. I don't have what it takes (mentally and skillfully) to cut, form, weld, sand, and labor over all that rust. I would love to do a 1st or 2nd gen rx7, but would feel terrible if i ruined it trying to restore it. Maybe if I tried a jeep or some other trail buggy first.
    Keep up the good work man!

      Yeah it's not the most fun, if I knew this one was a bad as it is I wouldn't have bought it. But I'm in it now so I'll continue. At least it gives me lots of content for CZcams 😆

    Pov shots were dope. Liked learning how you formed that firewall patch. I had the same feeling when you started trying to grind the rest of the floor pan off from the rocker, that would have took forever. Keep the videos coming man.

      Appreciate the comments! Some of this stuff I'm doing for the first time so I get to learn as I'm recording. I'm definitely not going to make all the right decisions but don't mind showing that.

    I’m no expert by any means but I have two questions for you. Why don’t you use a plasma cutter and also I’d like to know what you think of dipping cars in tanks to kinda speed up this process? Also just want to say you seem very masterful with metal working! Thanks if you have time to address these questions.

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  Před 5 měsíci

      I would use a plasma cutter if I had one but unfortunately I don't. Acid dipping would definitely speed this part of the build up but there's a good cost to get that done. I'm also not sure where to get that done around here.

    Great job. Appreciate the detail. Curious on what you’re gonna do on the other side with the massive CAT hump?

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  Před 6 měsíci

      TBH I can't remember if the Klassic Fab pan has the cat hump or not. I would imagine it does but I'll put it in as is.

    • @p7x
      @p7x Před 6 měsíci +1

      I bring it up as the 280z has very limited options for seats because of the hump. I just removed that hump and now the position of the seat is much better and much lower with custom mounts vice the stock ones. Food for thought

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I got the drivers floor cut out today. Tentative plan is to weld it in as is (leave the cat hump) and then probably remove it later after I do the 2JZ/CD009 swap as I'll know what else I need to cut/fabricate to make the trans and exhaust fit. It won't be any extra work really since the new floor pan is already made to keep the cat hump.

    What grade steel is the sheet metal you used for the firewall?

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It's whatever 20ga mild steel my local steel supplier had on hand. I'm not sure beyond that.

      Yes sir. I have a 79 280zx. Just installed new fuel injectors and spliced in some new connectors yesterday. Can't believe how much better it runs now. Also did front end suspension last weekend. Got back end to do soon and then eventually replacing seal n tranny and differential. It's kind of a shit box atm but she runs strong still
