Great content, no dig on you. The Supra was on an AWD dyno. I checked your comments and others saw this too. When I've seen cars ( in person ) rear wheel drive on an AWD dyno. The front tires do not move with the rear at the same speed, if that was the case then I would think the numbers would really be off. I'm not saying there isn't different types of dyno's that work differently, but think it would be at a cost. There would be lost as the front would be a drag and messing with thus belt between 2 rollers. I just think something is Sketchy with the video you obtained. Not blaming you. I could be totally wrong, but the dyno I know that is AWD, you can make it front, rear or AWD. You can turn on and off each. Keep up the good work. No knock on your hard work or your video just think something else is going on here.

So no, this Supra actually didn’t make that power to the wheels, it was a calculation of what it would make in a standardized, nearly impossible, perfect environment. On top of that a less than scrupulous dyno operator can further alter that correction factor to even further boost the readings of a vehicle on their dyno. Just take any dyno number with a grain of salt unless they show that there was no correction factor input. Then the numbers are what the car actually made that day, sorry air and all.

But people are saying it’s trash when it hasn’t even been put in a dealership yet or they haven’t even driven one yet. My car comes with the n54 and it can handle 800hp on stock internals and it’s a open deck. The b58 is a CLOSED deck just like the 2jz. So what if it has a bmw motor in it, it still is going to be a great car. Before some people say “iTs NoT gOiNg tO bE rEliable”, Toyota made sure to make it as reliable. BMW would show Toyota the B58 and anything that would not be unreliable and they made BMW improve it. This is going to be a good car (other then the fact it’s a automatic 😑). @@TreatsOnTheStreets Okay? Can't you delink the rollers to only spin the rear instead of all 4 wheels? Pretty sure there's a mode to allow that.. Also Why even dyno a rwd car on a awd dyno anyway? I would think that since it's on an awd dyno and it's a rwd car the calculation wouldn't be as accurate.. I'd dyno it on the correct dyno for another run and see what the difference is.. Also isn't that a dynojet? I have a 98 big single turbo trans am that when I was tuning it I dynoed it on a dynojet than a mustang dyno another day and the numbers were significantly different between the 2.. There wasn't any difference in determining factors for power loss either like altitude, temp, tire size etc.. I'd run it again and see what happens

It all comes to personal preference, it’s either that you are a Bimmer fanboy of a Toyota fanboy. The Germans built the Supra so thank them instead of absolutely obliterating them. If Toyota was told to build a Supra by themselves it would be more focused on fuel economy rather than performance. 😁

I dont really like this 10%-15% drivetrain loss idea. For instance, lets say my car in stock form loses 20hp through the drivetrain. I decide to turbo the car and thats it, adding 100hp at the crank. If you go by this drivetrain loss idea, you would calculate a higher number than 20hp being lost through the drivetrain, which in all actuality isnt true, as it still would only take 20hp to move the mass of my drivetrain.
