    I love my M1101 trailer. Your original video was the reason I pulled the trigger.

      cheers man. This trailer is really incredible. I am always surprised that more of these trailers aren't snapped up.

    If you try to straighten the frame again I would suggest you put the rear of the frame on jack stand where you have it chained down so the frame won't come off the jack stands and block the front wheels, Then once you start jacking up the truck use a big hammer on the area that the bend is at. Where the frame is bowing or kinking, And the frame will start to become straighter.

    I just picked my first M105A2 trailer today. I am excited to start working on it converting to a camper. My first questions to you and everyone: The trailer landing gear or leg rotates fine, and I can crank it up and down, but the problem its not extending all the way down, any thought? and my 2nd question is if I took these factory military large tires what lug pattern or how many lugs am I going to have and can I fit an 8lug Chevy wheels without at modifications to the current axle?
    Any advice recommendation would be great.
    Thanks for your informative videos and I am sharing every video to show what i have done.
    Thanks and God Bless.

    You can always just add more lift in the rear but Brady is right the only way to straighten it is to cut bend then weld

    I have been giving a lot of thought of getting one of these trailers. What has been holding me back is my tow vehicle. I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is stock and I am wondering whether the height differential between the trailer and the Jeep will be too much, Any thoughts?

      The anchors kept blowing that was our ultimate issue. It did help a little and I kept an eye on the shackle angle while we were flexing

    9:09 electronic actuator. Bro find electric 3500# trailer jacks. Run 3 of them off of the 1 circuit. They have a triangle plate you can weld a new top rack to. Just weld and sammich triangle plates to the feet. Will give you 14000# lift. Over kill for a 3 inch tube top rack for your CVT.

    • @bladenrexroth2555
      @bladenrexroth2555 Před 6 lety

      4 of these with 3 wired into the same circuit as one. Run the wiring through the new top rack tubes. Sandwhich in 4 plates at the feet, add a three way mid bar for both rigidity and strength at the provided triangle plates and weld in 2-3 inch tubing for a rack at the top. www.walmart.com/ip/Best-Choice-Products-3500-lbs-Electric-Power-Tongue-Jack-RV-Boat-Jet-Ski-A-Frame-Trailer-Camper-12V/151150308?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1381&adid=22222222228046554673&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=96534490730&wl4=pla-218884850210&wl5=9010348&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112561937&wl11=online&wl12=151150308&wl13=&veh=sem

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  Před 6 lety

      problem is they are so big. There are smaller actuators that I can use. I only really need like 100 lbs each corner max

    • @bladenrexroth2555
      @bladenrexroth2555 Před 6 lety

      Merricks Garage that only guarantees you 400#'s though. That's your CVT tent, you and the rack itself. If you build a new rack in the future you'll want at least 2" tube + mesh for strength. These trailer jacks can be found at a lower capacity. They have the triangular plate that can be welded (upside-down) at the 4 corners of the bed. Rewired to run on one circuit with the wiring protected under the bed lip. Can directly weld the new rack to the feet of the jacks. Cheapest way I know to give you a extremely well built system.

    • @bladenrexroth2555
      @bladenrexroth2555 Před 6 lety

      I'm using the same system to build a collapsible hi lo bug out camper. Saved me a lot of $ over a expensive hydraulic system.

    • @bladenrexroth2555
      @bladenrexroth2555 Před 6 lety

      I've got an even cheaper but over kill idea. Scrap yard should have 2 working sets of semi trailer landing gear. 2 sprockets and some motorcycle chain and you'll have a manual geared lift of 200,000#'s for under $200 bucks and 4 hours labor.

    I’m sure you get this question more often than you would like but, what rims are on the Blazer? They look so cool and I can not find out what they are to save my life.

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  Před 6 lety

      lol, I do get asked a lot and I can't remember what kind they are. I bought them used, but let me look and see if I can find brand and style printed on the rim somewhere

    • @TexHasselhoff
      @TexHasselhoff Před 6 lety

      Merricks Garage If its not on the rim, don’t worry about it, its not terribly important. If you have not looked for it yet, please do. Thank you.

    I would cut the bent portion, then bend it in place. Weld it up and plate over it. Yes it would be some work moving the brakelines and such but there really was no way that was going to work. You need way more force then the handymans can put out

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  Před 6 lety +1

      I am making a new back half frame for it. This was a quasi experiment

    • @bradywilliams2666
      @bradywilliams2666 Před 6 lety

      Yeah I've been watching. But without heating or cutting the frame. This will never work. Frame racks put out way more pulling force then a couple of handymans. I am also planning on building a new back half frame. When I shorten my 84 squarebody crew cab. I built the frame for my CJ-7 Crawler yrs ago. And it's held up pretty well. But I will be using thicker then the .120 wall I used on that.
