  • Do not try this at home folks. I made a spindle moulder from the Festool Hk85 saw and used it to mould some curved skirting boards a few hundred miles away from my workshop.

    And table saws sold in the UK don’t have a long enough spindle to use a stack dado cutter! You are a clever man, Oliver. Brilliant job, as always.🌞

      You could fit a stacked dado set on my old DeWalt DW744 if one flipped the Arbor washer the other way around. I bought a DWE7492 I've been meaning to try a stacked dado set on it.

    Great video. As a joiner myself I have to agree that it's become a rare treat to get to work on top end green timber framing. But when I do get the chance I get a great sense of enjoyment from the results. There's just something about large scale joinery.

    I’m very pleased twofold. Firstly, a professional expert using pocket screws appropriately to get a job done efficiently. Secondly, nobody (thus far) in the comments moaning about pocket hole joinery.
    They are just so handy sometimes.

      Good man, I was going to make the same point. Pocket holes are unbelievably strong especially with glue in the joint.

    Why not just use that ring fence on your Felder? Apologies if you answered this in the video, I skipped some chit chat to get the the build.
    The felder spindle moulders are great machines.

    Cool, reminds me of the Mafell NFU 50 but it would need a curved track and for them to start selling different cutting heads.

    Brilliant when a jig works out!
    I had windows I quoted years ago with crappy aluminium jambs in a timber frame, timber sash.
    I figured I could prob convert it all to work off a spiral, and done right you wouldn’t know it wasn’t always like that.
    Had a punt at the price, know idea what was going on until I pulled one apart! first window I was about 6 hrs! soaked in sweat running up and down stairs in this block of flats, trying to run a flute in edge of sash with a router!
    Knowing it would send me broke at a window a day and there were 80! I made a contraption out of chipboard flooring and a big old makita router bolted on to a chipboard ’fence’ 90 degrees off chipboard’table’ and sashes could be shoved through flat on the ‘table’
    It worked bloody brilliant! One pass, fast as and perfect!
    I was knocking about 6 out easily, all new jambs sussed and done as ‘kits’
    As Hanibal says ‘I love it when a plan comes together!’ 😂

    @daveduncan9005 Před rokem

    Brilliant! Would a piece of slippery edge banding help with reducing binding or wear on the guide fence? I expect this piece of kit, if it works as expected, will get a lost of use.
