Can This Tire Survive 100 Holes?(GoPro Inside a CAR TIRE )

- In this video, I mount a GoPro camera inside a car tire and drive the car around to see what it looks like inside a wheel with a tire that has 100 repair plugs in it.
I test how Safe it is to Drive With a Plugged Tire, and when I say Plugged Tire, I mean 100 Plugs In A Tire. The result was pretty awesome; I found out that even if you put 100 Plugs In A Tire, nothing happens (in my case). In the first part of the video, I used the Goodyear Eagle Touring tire, and I found out that the rubber was strong because it was a run-flat tire. When I drove over 100 nails, the tire was intact, and none went through the tire.
In the second part of the video, I used a 7-year-old tire from Hankook winter i-cept rs2 because winter tires are softer than summer tires.
The plug is supposed to be a temporary fix, not a permanent solution to repair the hole in your tire. While driving with a plugged tire is safe, it is only safe to do so for a short time!

Pro tip. Put 100 plugs in all your tires. If you ever want to go offroading, just flip the tires inside out and you have an extra stubby profile for mud bogging
less money to spend
Thank You I will try it tomorrow.
sort of like wearing a ribbed condom inside out when you want the pleasure. erm, not that I would ever do anything like that.
Surprisingly it's difficult to put nails through a tire when you want to.
I wonder how it happens out of nowhere if it’s difficult when actually trying to.

Haha bro

I always wondered what it would be like to be inside a tire and holding onto the rim for dear life.
this is proof, that plugging a tire is actualy very good
Very good
Depends who puts it in lmao but it's kinda whack too some places won't touch the tire if it has one in it so if you do it yourself be ready with them 😂
@@bodaciousskies ok
@@athletetic how?
no it's not
Respect to those tires, most people I know won't run as well with 100 plugs in them.
So I can DEFINITELY drift on a plugged tire, thank you for the info
What do you want to get inside the wheels?
These usually last longer than the tire itself lol
From the title i was expecting this to be a Garage54 video lol.
Same bro. Then i realized no translation from BMI Russian
I thought colab lol

The GoPro Inside a Car Tire was cool to see.

I have used lots of plugs in my tires over the years. I’ve even put them in the shoulder, and the sidewall (gasp). What I have learned is, that an exterior installed plug (not patch plug) will last the lifetime of the tire. Problems arise if the tires you want to patch are old and dry. Plugs exert force on the surrounding rubber, and old dry tires will split there and leak again.
So if the tire seems old and has cracks on the thread it’s better to add a internal patch instead of the external plug?
Same here used many of plugs, not patches !
@@GreddyReaddy yes exactly
Tire mechanic here and i can confirm this
@@GreddyReaddy if the tires have cracks in the treads, I’d replace them. I’d only plug them to last until a replacement could be sourced. I wouldn’t waste the effort to dismount a tire for a patch plug if it was as described. Older dry tires will exhibit fine cracks in the sides walls often called weather-checking.
wow, the inside view is really making me appreciate how tough these things are designed.
We put 100 holes in the tire, and surprisingly, it holds up really well. Rubber is tough as heck!
@@Carhax yeah the glue they use is something else. The rubber piece is very dense so it applies pressure to seal it excellently too. But man there's a lot of flex, no wonder you can't repair a side puncture.
As a tire tech I would honestly replace the tire at that point but this is a good video showing how good plugs can hold in. Sidewalls are a no go point for me even if the tread is brand new with about 20-60 miles on it(which some customers have warranty on their tire ajd some dont) I help people stay safe on the road from blowouts to full on tire ripped off type of stuff by putting a bew tire on.
The more plugs u have, does it affect the wheel balancing?
@@alhambra792 it may affect the amount of weight needed to balance it, but generally as long as the tire repairs aren't near one another it shouldn't make a dramatic difference
@@DjCrazy451 May I know what will happen in the long run if you ignore the balancing of your wheel? As my car seems to be vibrating a lot at high speed.
@@alhambra792 Many bad things can happen in the long run. Just to name a few:
Increased wear on the suspension in that corner. (Shocks/struts)
Increased wear on the wheel bearing in that corner. (Inside of wheel bearing doesn’t move relative to the hub/axle. So the heavy spot on the tire translates to that same spot in the wheel bearing press hard against the ball bearings. It’ll wear down that ONE SPOT on the inner race quicker than how the rest of the inner race wears.
Having just replaced a wheel bearing myself within the last month, trust me, you don’t want to be in that situation where you’re getting quotes from shops or doing it yourself. 😅
Rebalancing tires is cheap, in the grand scheme of things.
If one is lucky, a new set of tires only need initial balancing when mounting.
But, sometimes tires need a rebalance at roughly halfway through their useable tread life.
@@reallifeengineer7214one or two plugs isn't that serious.
Thanks for demonstrating these make a safe repair. They get a bad rap, but are handy in a pinch. I've used and never had issues.
This is a crazy video!! So much stuff experimented in one short video !! Kudos
I appreciate that they picked that first backing song that is in the same key as the resonant frequency of the tire chamber. It matched perfectly.
me, I'm just enjoying watching the rubber flex and bend with the direction of the car from this perspective... it's pretty awesome!
Bruv, tires are tougher than I thought.
Hey, if you're interested in what goes into a tough tire, go look at the wall of your tire, there's a bunch of information on there that you never knew existed. It's really important though, as a driver. CZcams and Google can surely help you understand what all the things on your tire mean

Thanks for the educational video, so tire plug is strong and safe.
Wow man I didn't know stick puctures are this reliable!!!
After watching this video I changed from 🍄 puncture in shop to diy stick puncture in home ✌🏼
They work well just this very day I've just done rear tyre on my van not removed wheel either took 5 minutes and all good , I'm 68 and first time I've used them too
I always keep a tire plug set with me. It's saved me hundreds of dollars and the trouble and/or expense of having to get towed or waiting for someone to come save me. I've never had a plug leak even after several years. Even when my buddy was stranded with a hole in his sidewall. I put 2 plugs in the sidewall thinking it would only be temporary but it held for about a year when he replaced the tire because it was bald. I always use rubber cement instead of the grease. It makes a much better bond.
This was a great video! Gives the drives a prospective from inside of the tire. These little rubber things do hold
that was actually pretty cool and it answered my question on how many plugs you can cram into your tire before it wears out; as many as you can fit.
Man you must have super grip strength after pressing all of those plugs in.
My forearm exploded 🤣

Great video! Great view on the inside, and how it holds up. I have had many tires patched. I have also plugged many tires. But now I am more confident just using plugs! (das ist groBartig)
Such a great idea! Thanks for the Video, was very interesting to see! 👍
Have tire engineers seen this? Or ever done this? If not, they need to see this.
I seen a lady come in one time, a truck dropped a box of nails, had 23 in one tire
Excellent video.
Imagine going to a tire shop and rolling out of there with that
I like the way it's been worked out.
Pure science. Nice video!
Now I want to see the tire that you just inverted mounted and driven on
It will not work because if fill it up with air the air will push the plugs out.
@@Carhax put on a old one without plugs. I would also love to see a tire mounted the wrong way around
@@RXYannick it wouldn't work because the bead assembly is inverted so it can't hold on
@@nikolabozic1981 use a tube why not i'm sure it would work, but mounting it may be a tad challenging.
i think the problem that you will not be able to fill the tyre with air as tyre edge stick tightly to rim inside edge
And the noble prize goes to, that guy who make a video about 100 plugs on a tire...
This is a must know information!
I've always wanted to put a camera in a tire and see what all these things that happen to tires look like from the inside. Thanks!
This is great video. Thanks!
That’s awesome insight! Really cool!
you did a great demo 👍👍
This is an amazing extreme test
Spiritual guy, all physical work must be praised
its like a heartbeat kind of satisfying
Awesome mucht awaited video ever
8:00 he thought for sure it would be easier xD
reminded me of along time ago Dunlop using a small 165/80/13 tyre fitted over 600 patches over punctures across tread width merging into the sidewalls then drove on it a long distance well over 1k miles at constant speed limit of tyre S rated 113 mph to prove it was unaffected, then years later tyre repair regs switched to only repair in the center half of the tread no shoulder area repairs as selling tyres is more profitable than a cheap repair patch
No it's because it's unsafe dumb ass there's a federal law against it because on older tires the sidewalls are where it begins splitting first so if you patch that it ain't gonna work he just didn't do this on a old tire
Amazing test 👍
Looks like a heartbeat inside.
Props for having big balls while airing this up
Tire repair shop has left the group!

I want to say this is a great, great movie that shows how the rubbers preventing the leakage. and Secondly, we should add one more punch and then add a rubber diagonally to balance the high speed rotation for the wheel.
As an idea, you could record how the small balls that are used to balance the wheels of off-road cars behave (dinabal)
THAT was a torture test 👏👏
No GoPro was harmed in the making of this film.
Screw studded tires for winter how a bout plugged tires for that Xtra grip....lmao....nice video....the camera inside the tire was for some reason totally satisfying
You guys made a believer outta me! Do a tractor trailer tire!
That gopro is the real deal..
thanks to the tire, plugs, and go pro, and also last but not least the clutch and the car in general.
What if the same wheel goes one more time over the nailboard? Does it still be reusable?
Have a nail in right front. Short thick screw in left front today - probably didn't puncture yet. Have plug kit ready. This Camera footage was brilliant. And hilarious! GoPro gave way at what tire RPM, I wonder? Hope it's ok.
Damn its so cool to watched go pro in the tyre..!!
This also highlights the benefit of not having very low profile tyres, going over a nail or screw in my 19” rims with low profiles pierced the alloy and will cost big bucks to have it welded, has a very slow air leak for now.
OK we got the point- Great hidden ad for Hankook tires
Until now I haven't promoted anything on this channel. I was impressed by how well the old Hankok tire performed on these tests.
The tire you turned inside out can you mount it on a rim that way. And if so that’s a video
Go pro in a tyre .
Genius !😊
"plugs arent meant for long term use"
me 5 years later going to the tire shop asking why my tire has a slow leak...
Thanks for the nice vedio
I would like to see a rock crawler from the inside.
Anyway impressive demonstration of what a tire does all day long. Apart from getting punctured like cheese.
😳 good video
I’ve been using plugs for years . Once put 7 in a large tractor tire .
I have never , ever , ever gone to a tire shop for a patch .
I’ve lost ONE PLUG after putting in a rear tire of a corvette zo6 without cutting it flush with tire . About 1 week into burnouts I pulled the plug .
Point is… plugs work .
I use a 5/16 drill to reem on 10 ply truck tires or you can hardly get them in .
I’m 6’4 , 250lbs . Just try it !
Came for the tire pluggin’
Stayed for the tire wranglin’ 🤣
Fyi you don't have to trim the plugs they will trim off after you drive it for a half a block lol. Now I know if I ever make a break from the cops and get away and they spiked my tires I can plug them up and be good to go with a hundred plus plugs in one tire. And all that work to turn it inside out just for us was appreciated it looked super cool man
used a few plugs over the last few years until replacement - mine get replaced every 6 months due to mileage - plugged a 15mm bolt puncture once too - do it right and it will be fine. I would never plug and drive till replacement in the shoulder edges though
“Science isn’t about “Why?”
It’s about “WHY NOT?!””
Looked like Pinheads (from the movie Hell Raiser ) tire !! 😆 lol
What would you consider a short about of time?
Can u pls do more go pro of tyres
can you do witch invert tire like the last part and try to drive
Which glue did you use?
Amazing 👏👏👏
Tire had corn rows
i’d like to see how it would do on the rear tires instead
Great video haha
Just this minute plugged my tyre whilst on van easy peazy
Mad experiment
I always considered that type of plug temporary. Any time i used them I always had the tyre patch repaired as soon as i could.
How does the balancing machine feel about the GoPro inside it?
How does light get inside the tire without letting air out?
