@@skoomskaait doesn't cost the same.. Salmon is an expensive nutritious fish that I would never use to make something basic like fish sticks with. It's an insult to the salmon
@@miranaestephan247 what do you mean it doesn’t cost the same? My local Sam’s Club has salmon for $10 a pound. Whether I cook it whole, cut it into fillets, cut it into sticks, or chop it up for salmon croquettes, it cost that same $10/lb. And it gets eaten either way. Even if I pay twice that it still gets cooked and eaten and costs whatever I paid for it no matter how I prepare it. If I can get my kids to eat it as fish sticks but they won’t eat it some other way, which is more important? That they eat it or that I cook it in some way that doesn’t “insult” the fish?
@@skoomskaa you misunderstood the comment. When he said salmon it too expensive for fish sticks he didnt mean it would be less expensive if you ate it grilled or baked fillet.. He meant that to make fish sticks with salmon is far more expensive than to make it with other fish.. 1 pound of salmon isn't the same price as 1 pound of halibot or surimi or any normal fish
Absolutely any other fish than salmon… too expensive and too ecologically, environmentally and ethically implicated. You’d have to buy biologically sourced salmon and that would amount to around 5 dollars a stick…
Skin is the tastiest part😂
Personally I don’t like it, to each their own
How do you make it edible?
@@paulavitt1656 fry, grill or bake at high heat until crispy. Most of the time the fish will get over cooked unless you’re nice with the tongs.
Probably not for fish sticks imo. Would probably get gooey.. and not everyone likes skin anyway.
@@paulavitt1656 you can make your separate fish skin as chips by just air frying them or shallow frying them
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever considered making fish sticks at home, but now I want to!
You need to!

If anyone is wondering because she said it fast, the sauce is Everything but bagel sauce by Chosen foods.
Salmon is too expensive to make fish sticks with. Maybe a different fish
What difference does it make if you cut the filets into sticks or cook them whole? Either way the salmon gets eaten and it costs the same?
Yes you could try another fish!
