    After watching this review in May 2022, a year after its publication, I'm surprised that it has only 6292 views with 172 likes while this channel has only 4.6K subscribers. This was quite comprehensive coverage, rivaling Robert Hall's channel Sharpen while imparting some unique examination and discussion.

    Thank you for the in depth review. I would love to see a comparison with the Amaran 200x, which is much brighter on paper, but I suspect that may only be due to reflector hot spot.

    Their site also list a SL200II Bi but I can't seem to find anything about it.
    Would love to have a comparison between it and the SZ200 Bi.

      @@PaulRamen I was also debating between these two lights. What I found is the SL200IIbi has the power adapter built in, so the head is heavier but you don't have to deal with a dangling power adapter, just the simple plug. However it does not support app control, you have to use the physical remote. For that reason I am going for the SZ100bi.

      @@shengyuanhsuphotography7255 I prefer the SZ200Bi because it is bicolor. I always need that 90% of time’s. Plus it’s 50 watts more powerful plus you can vary the spot.

    Man i was learning and I was waiting for more distinct points amigo!! The magenta issues are for photographers I imagine. Video just needs constant. I didn't know magenta was such a point til this.

      Everything that’s a problem with photography, also applies 100% to video. Video *IS* photography, but in motion. Any color irregularities, exposure, ISO, shutter, etc.

    Thank you for all the great reviews and insights! I am trying to compare this to the GVM200D. It seems from your testing that the Godox has a higher lux with and without the reflector (regardless of the frosted cover), but the CRI is slightly lower. Both seem like great lights just trying to gauge the differences in performance understanding the differences in color temperature functionality and connection methods. Do you foresee any problems with fresnel attachments on the Godox? Any information would be beneficial. Looking forward to your feedback and thanks again. Such a great channel!

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  Před 2 lety

      Hey, somehow, I just saw your comment. I receive too many LOL. Sorry man. I didn’t have a GVM SD200 but now I have them all. Matter of fact, I just received today a SD150-R and a SD-300 at the same time. I’ll see what I can do comparing them to the SZ200BI but as you can see, I’m too busy with these other lights that don’t stop showing up.
      Regarding fresnel attachments, just monitor the heat and don’t shoot in hot environments with them attached. A lot of heat build up.

  • @brianschmittgens9323
    @brianschmittgens9323 Před 2 lety

    Thanks for the great video! I had a little trouble following when you were doing the power readings. If I'm understanding correctly, you lose more power the further you get from daylight temperature in either direction. So basically if you go all the way to 2800 or 6500k, it'll effectively be a 100 watt light. Is that correct?

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  Před 2 lety +2

      No, that’s not correct. From 2800K to 6500K you’re getting 200+ watts, not 100. The brightest setting and more power consumption is at 5600K by 1/2 stop and 35ish watts higher.

    thoughts on sz200 bi or vl300... i was looking to get more output than my vl150

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  Před 3 lety

      VL-150 is 100% daylight. The SZ200Bi is bicolor, sharing 50-50 LEDs. The VL300 is also 100% daylight. The 200BI might output the same intensity on daylight (only) as the -150.
      The VL300, obviously the most powerful. But doesn’t have the same features as the 200Bi. It’s up to you regarding your needs.

  • @DanKoz29
    @DanKoz29 Před 2 lety

    Thanks for a great review. But I have 2 questions. #1. You started to say how long the SZ200Bi would work when powered buy a power bank, but you never quite got there. #2. Would I be able to to power 2 of these lights from one 800 watt power bank? If so, how long would you say it would last?

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  Před 2 lety

      How long it will last… #1: It all depends on your power bank, the quality of the battery, the condition and age of the battery, how many cycles etc.
      #2: assuming the light will be at 100% at all times, with your 800 watt power bank, which I assume it’s a 800 WATT- HOUR power bank with the SZ200BI drawing 200 watts, naturally, it should last 4 hours. With two, will last 2 hours or less.
      Yes, you can power two SZ200Bi with a 800 watt unit.
      HOWEVER, if your power bank is NOT Pure Sine Wave, do NOT use it with this light. A 800 watt pure sine wave power bank is quite expensive. Most of them out there are not pure sine wave.

    • @ArtVideoProductions
      @ArtVideoProductions  Před 3 lety +1

      It should be. 200 watts is 200 watts. What makes the light more powerful will also depend on what modifiers you use; a reflector… a fresnel adapter… softbox… all these matter.
