  • Welcome to my personal growing review of peony ‘ bowl of beauty’
This is a fabulous peony for the first time grower or impatient gardener
As it’s Fast to establish and reward you with many flowers in its first few years it forms a large dense clump producing multiple flowerheads per stem
It stands around 65 to 75 cm tall and eventually can form a clump around a metre wide should you get too large or you wish to split it division should be made in early autumn or very late February just as a plant goes dormant wakes up for the season ahead
Deep cerise pink petals surround a central bowl filled with masses of creamy white petaloides which are basically thin spoon like shorter petals in the centre of the flower
As blooms fade, remove them from the plant completely to allow your show to continue. This one prefers a sunny spot in the garden on a rich moist soil and is one of the varieties that will benefit from some support or structure to keep it up right.
available for many different stockist, including @crocus.co.uk

My bowl of beauty peony has a strong cinnamon/clove type scent; it's very nice.

I started watching you a couple of months ago and bought SO many roses this year because of it, and now I’m on my third peony adoption.

And right on cue, our bowl of beauty peony opened the first of its blooms today. You're right about the lack of fragrance. It is sort of a generic "plant" smell similar to roses bought at the grocery store 😅. But the interesting blooms make up for it.
