- Testing the Hornady Critical Defense in .38 Special and .22 WMR in a 10% Clear Ballistics test. Always appreciative of any channel help :) www.patreon.com/user?u=5828221
22 Mag did a fantastic job with much less recoil. Nothing wrong with running with 22 mag.
Impressive results, i'm changing my concepts about 22 magnum after these tests.
Thank you for your post, Sam. I've never considered 22 WMR as a carry round but you have opened the door to that possibility. For me, the 38 Special is my default revolver round.
I carry the 45gr Hornady WMR in my revolver. I have no doubts about its performance. Again, thanks for the new 22WMR content. Keep up the good work. 👍
.22mag is very unique in that it's viable as an easy to manage self defense round , but a real screamer in a rifle . Not many matched calibers options like that .
That's a pretty good velocity boost in the 22 Mag vs my 351c. Now that I have a 442 the 351c is my table side gun for around the house and the 38 is my EDC for out and about. Good video, thanks.
I’m a little surprised at the gel test results. Similar and consistent through bare and barrier. Cool. 👍🇺🇸
Nice test.
Great video! I’m always fascinated with 22mag and that particular .38spl round is what I keep loaded in my wife’s S&W 642 (probably because of your recommendation in past videos) thank you for another good video.
Those results really surprised me, great video as usual, thanks so much!
Good test. 22 WM is no joke out of a 3” barrel. I like the 38 +p to.
Would love to see some more 22 WMR out of a 4.5-5" barrel. Great performer, thanks for the videos.
Both rounds impressed me. If that LCR were a 7 shot I'd buy one.
Another good video. Nice comparison. As always, great shooting. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
I have a savage 93 .22mag with a 24” barrel. Nothing has impressed me more than this round..been through all the ammo. It blows everything away
You hit the nail on the head by discussing momentum. Mass times velocity is basic physics, and it does factor into the equation. I think that this is often overlooked when discussing effectiveness of calibers for self-defense.
Great Video as usual Sam!!
I’m a big fan of 22 mag, this video helped me feel better about that, thanks I definitely would not feel unarmed if only had a 22mag
Thanks! Those are two interesting calibers in my favorite barrel length.
I do agree 100%...the 38 special is the better choice, however I'm glad you are finally seeing the the 22 Mag isn't the BEST choice but it is a choice. Thanks for creating this.
