      Ikr?! Plus, open shelves in a dusty laundry room? Why put the homeowner's through all that extra unnecessary work? They have a growing family. Who the heck wants to _add_ to their chores list? Thought this was meant to help them? Plexiglass doors, they don't dirty as fast, they're strong & you get the same open feel. This designer skipped out on the function. Instead she focused only on the form. *sigh

    Friendly reminder not to simply push your dryer against the wall. Even if it’s flush mounted to the duct you need to be able to visually inspect it now and then. If there’s a hole or break in the duct and lint begins piling up (happens faster than you might think) it can turn into a fire hazard, especially with high voltage electricity wired on top of it. Dryer lint is extremely flammable.

    1. Love these DIYs done with a time frame. 2. However, I don’t necessarily understand the turquoise + red and white + white and black, all together. 3. Still, glad that the couple is happy🙂.

    The home owner said she stores detergents in the cabinets above the washer dryer but its too far away.
    The Solution?
    The designer decides to make them closer but open. She then places little decorations instead of detergents.
    The detergents would look awful there now ..lol
    Designer created a problem for the owners ..lol
    Looks like a fail tbh

      Exactly what I was thinking. Open shelving? For all the things you need to store away in a laundry room?

    Why not stack washer and dryer and put a cabinet next to it?
    Seems counterintuitive to waste space in such a small room

    • @Maverickgouda
      @Maverickgouda Před 2 lety +1

      I think it can be a bit more accessible switching clothes over if it’s unstacked & they still got the cabinets, but overhead. There’s even a wall of storage right there. The room is small but dedicated for laundry.

    What’s with all the blue masking tape around the door frames etc? It’s not necessary. I’m a professional painter and never use that stuff to protect doors/window frames. I use a wide brush and carefully use the edge of the brush.

    The home owners are simply _gorgeous_ people. The design is nice. HOWEVER, open shelves are _always, more_ work for the homeowner's. Keeping them neat, tidy & free of dust IN a mega dusty laundry room? Not worth the extra work. To get the same open feel, maybe glass doors? Save that poor family the time & energy. They'll need it, to keep up with a growing toddler. Plexiglass doors with brushed gold knobs. They don't dirty like glass (nearly as fast). Plus, they're strong & you get the same open feel. This designer skipped out on the function. Instead she focused only on the form. *sigh
    EDIT: That is NOT turquoise! _That_ is cobalt blue. (Crayola agrees with me, look it up. LMAOO)

    • @volcrazy89
      @volcrazy89 Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah if it's open shelving it should just be like a couple of long shelves that span the walls, not a bookshelf-type thing like that. Also, all that useless stuff like the decor and fake plants are going to get dusty AF real quick. I was thinking about clear doors, too. I don't see them a lot in laundry rooms but they always seem to work well in kitchens so why not? It would definitely keep the dust off, and since they appear open it makes the room look bigger. Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed it definitely wasn't turquoise. It doesn't look cobalt blue either, though. It looks more like a mix between the two.

    What does pro mean? If she is paid then she is a professional. Eg. I am a designer also but I am not a professional designer being my services are not paid.
    Fyi I am also a cook, a mechanic, a laundry person, a carpenter etc etc.
