    Just to clear up Pirelli's confusing naming convention:
    These are 'Rosso 4, Corsa' the rear has carbon black edges and slightly different carcass compared to the regular 'Rosso 4'.
    The 'Rosso Corsa' was released in 2010, the rear used dual compound with carbon black edges and was a different tire than the Rosso 1, 2, 3.
    The 'Rosso Corsa 2' was its replacement released in 2018 and the rear uses tri compound with carbon black edges. It appears that the Rosso 4 Corsa is replacing this line of tires.

      Yes. That’s our understanding as well, I just really struggle keeping the naming conventions straight when I’m recording. Seriously, though, these tires impressed the hell out of us!!

      I have run RC2s since they came out and like them a lot. Have also run SCs, R2 a little and R3. Figured a Rosso Corsa 3 would come out eventually but it seems they wanted to have the Rosso and Rosso Corsa lines numbered similarly going forward. I'll probably give these a try for my next set unless the RC2s are at a steep discount.

    • @just.chel.
      @just.chel. Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@thefiveo344 The fronts are essentially the same both being dual compound silica, the difference is in the rear tire. The R4 uses harder silica in the center and softer silica on the shoulders, the R4C uses softer silica in the center and SC3 compound on the shoulders.
      You can choose what suits you best, the R4 rear leans towards balancing wear which is useful for the street, and the R4C rear leans towards maximizing grip which is great for track days.
      The Supercorsa SPv4 adds SC3 compound to the front shoulders as well for maximum dry grip on a "street" tire.

    I have run the predecessor to the 4 - the 3! - for a while including track days, and it is a great road/track option. Seems to hold up well in terms of wear and has reasonably good grip. With my limited skills I find it behaves well at the limit, whether the limit is me if the bike/tyre

      I have them on my Streetfighter V2. 190/55 rear and front the normal size. The Corsa gives a very good response and grip on dry surface roads and are easy to get turned into a corner. They are not great in the rain and to me feel very slippery but that's maybe because compound itself is soft. So, good track day/road tire as long ist not raining.

    On the front tyre, when the writing is nearly rubbed off, is the tyre finished? Just asking as I’ve been running them for half a year and two track days and the writing is nearly gone on the front but not the back and hitting road bends feels unstable. 👍🏻

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  Před rokem

      The text has less to do with what I think is going on. What I suspect you may be experiencing is the rear tire has worn much faster than the front or one of your tires has baked out - which happens with racier tires. What I would probably do is replace the rear first, see if that fixes thing, and if it still feels weird, then replace the front. It's not uncommon to run two rears to one front.

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  Před rokem +1

      TBT - I still prefer slicks, but we purchased these because we needed to use the bike in a situation where we wouldn't be able to use tire warmers. The rear does not last as long as a slick kept on warmers. So for user requirements, I don't see myself running these tires very often. In most cases, I'd rather have a slick, or someting more durable like The Rosso's. But they do work great in this pretty specific situation quite well.
