- Tyre technology has really come along way over the years and with an old bike like my RC8R Akrapovic running 180bhp + 100ftb with zero rider aids/assist having a tyre that can provide optimum traction in my riding conditions is key... So does the new Pirelli Rosso 4 Corsa deliver? we find out in this video.
Please note : Due to the gearing change the speedo reads roughly 5mph above the actual GPS speed :) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
can't wait to test the tyres in the next season on the twisty mountain roads here in austria on my 2008 rsv 1000 rr.
Thanks mate for the review
You won’t be disappointed 😎👍
I just ordered a set for my 2012 RC8R. I can't wait to ride on them.
You won’t regret it 😎👍
Can't wait to try these on my 996 this coming season ( '23 ) . Like yourself I've loved the previous two versions so I'm expecting more of the same overall performance with just a little extra thrown in for good measure! Nice to see that you also have appreciation for the Desmoquattro!
Can you even be a bike fan if you don’t own a Ducati 👀😅
Well, the older ones like the Dq definitely aren’t for everyone, you really gotta luv ‘em to make it worthwhile..
I’d say the modern Ducs of the last ten years or so have been sanitized somewhat for more mass market appeal. Probably not a bad thing !
Bit of light water action there. Love that whole section after the roundabout towards windlesham
I have no idea what your referring too, this was all filmed in Mexico 👀😅
@@stoneautomotive 😂
Can confirm they handle the wet decent enough to get home. My first 15 miles with the set on my 04 Yamaha r1 was in a down pour. Never got over 50, but I’m in Tennessee so it wasn’t that straight of a ride. Didn’t seem to spin or slip
They are the best sports bike tyre for me 😎
Have you tested the tyre on wet condition? Would love to fit these on my bike but the clouds in my country have bladder malfunction so I’m kinda worried
I’ve only tested them in the damp (nearly got caught in a down poor 😅) and they were still fine, I would never ride as hard in the wet to say where the limit is though
@@stoneautomotive I agree to never push a bike when it's raining, I'm curious to know if it's wet performance is on par with the Diablo Rosso 4 tyres
Do you know if the corsa 3 is a directional tire when mounting?
They all have a directional pattern on them so I would be surprised if the 3 isn’t directional. Look for the arrow on the side wall but normally the tread pattern is the easiest give away 👍
if i never ride in the rain or very rarely and plan to do some track days this year, would you recommend the rosso 4 corsa or supercorsa spv4?
If you never ride in the rain or when it’s less than 15c out then the SPV4 is a great choice for track but then again the Rosso Corsa is still great on track as I experienced round the Nurburgring but I guess it depends how fast/ hard you ride on track as you may find the limit with the Rosso
I'm not too convinced it's improvement from the previous model 3 tyre is worth the price hike? The Rosso Corsa 3's are excellent and good value.
It’s a big step up from the Rosso 2 Corsa, the real test will hopefully be completed to the ring next month 😬
The Rosso 3 is a road focused tyre which has been replaced by the Rosso 4. These Rosso 4 Corsa replaces the Rosso Corsa 2
Does the KTM have traction control? Important to know when considering your comments regarding wet performance
No traction control, anti wheelie or ABS! Your on your own if you get it wrong on an RC8 😅
These tyres are awesome and I am REALLY fussy.
Yea must admit I’ve got some other rubber to review so hopefully they offer similar levels of grip 😬
I just spent over an HOUR just trying to find out what basic pressure I should set my Diablo Rosso IV Corsa's for the STREET, not a RACE TRACK. I'm not on a racetrack, I'm on the damn street. There is not a page, a video, a .pdf download to tell me what to do ... this is damn frustrating.
I have a very old bike, so I can't go by what the bike says. I have a 1999 Suzuki GSXR-750 that says set the pressure's to 36 front and back, but those pressures are looking like they are too high for modern tires.
I'm 180 lbs, it's summer here 70 to 80 degrees here, I drive fast and love to lean the bike until there are no chicken strips. Yesterday I drove for 3 hours straight, on back roads at almost double the speed limit for half the time, max speed was 230kph, and all this at 36 psi on my SuperCorsa's ... but I really want to know where to find a pressure chart for Perilli tires for the STREET .... grrrrrrr.
Every motorcycle will be different that’s why you won’t find it 😅
I would always go by the details in the models manual or detailed on the swing arm but if your still not satisfied with that answer sign up to a GSXR owners club/forum and ask those that run them for input 👍
I use 34 / 36 on my 2010 Multistrada
S22 vs these - for a 1000cc naked bike only riding on streets ?
I’ve not tried the S22 to compare I’m afraid
Apples and oranges. The answer depends on your skill level and how fast you ride.
Just replaced my worn rosso corsa II for fresh pair was unaware pirelli had release a new corsa 😵
Still a great tyre the Rosso Corsa II 😎 run them on my GSXR 600 and can’t complain even now 👌
These tires not good in the rain if your on the highway your a dead man, best tires for wet conditions is Michelin & Dunlop
Surprised to hear that, obviously they are more dry weather biased but can’t say I’ve experienced any nervous moments in the wet 🤷♂️
I would disagree that "you're a dead man" if you ride these tires in the wet.
I've ridden the Corsa 2 in the wet plenty of times, and they're totally fine, by no means a liability. Granted I'm talking about the previous version, but the Corsa 4 will be at least as competent in the wet, if not more so, being a development of the Corsa 2
That's definitely an exaggeration, I ride Supercorsa in the wet very frequently and while sketchy as all Hell it's definitely not a death sentence.
Just stick to the slow lane and I wouldn't push it much past 70mph~. Sudden drastic movements can cause fish tailing so easy on the throttle and no lane-splitting.
You mentioned the ambient temperature.
I live in Finland and its under 20c long time of the riding season.
Is rosso Iv corsa bad for that condition? Would the normal Rosso Iv be a better choice?
My bike is a 2008 Cbr 600 rr. Now tires are really wornout michelin Road 5 and I would like to test a more sportier tire.
The Rosso 4 Corsa has worked well for me down to 5c temperatures, obviously I get some heat in the tyre it’s self before really pushing the limit but I generally feel they can work down to those temps. The Super Corsa on the other hand is not suited to the cooler climates, for me the Rosso Corsa is a great all round tyre and delivered on our trip to the Nurburgring 😎
@@stoneautomotive Wow thanks for the fast reply. This gives me reassurance.
I have ptsd of old michelin road 2, they would be absolutely slippery if not really warm
I would recommend to stay with rosso 4 if it gonna be sporty street riding. The sc compund that is found in the rear of the rosso corsa can be slippery in cold weather. Cheers ✌️
Exactly the info I was looking for however two conflicting opinions on rosso iv corsa vs rosso iv in colder temps.
Same dilemma, Looking for the sportiest tires possible while not needing a lot of warm-up if I go out on a chilly Sunday morning and ride a bit aggressively out of the gate.
Still thinking the corsas are the way to go at 10-15c/50-60f.. any confirmation would be great. Thanks
@@25Jon i went with rosso iv. Not yet ridden that much. Summer has not started. They seem really good really stable, really linear turning. But only comparison I have is totally worn road 5. Also at the same time bearings were changed.
My desicion came to I probably will not be going to track for atleast this year,(no buddy to go with).
