Awesome ! Take your time get to know your land walk it over several times a week you will learn something new every time. Learn everything you can about the wild plants and trees so you know what they have to offer before you go and clear anything. May you have many Good years on your land .
There was nothing but my melanated Aboriginal Turtle Island and/or African relatives in Maine; the Eastern Woodlands were our lands for centuries. Most of them are on the reservation or areas where they were able to keep some ancestral land. Glad you're back caring for the land! My Puerto Rican old man and I have been looking for 5 to 10 acres of land to live off grid since 2016. The CV hit and realtors got folks sooped-up: 40 acres for $15k in the Aroostook boonies suddenly went up to $35k. So now we're like, 'WTF?' - there goes our plan. We're not going to give it up though because this is where us poor old folks need to retire. To return to the land! I'm just not feeling folks selling property for 5x over the assessed value. 🤷🏾♀️ ------------
Helluvah move! I grew up in the Bangor Area. Just curious where in the state you settled? A close friend just bought 65 acres in Robbinston earlier this year and has plans to get an off grid living situation going. Best wishes to you and I hope you are still hiking the A.T. up there.
Glad there are not poisonous snakes. What about ticks? I think I saw someone say that ticks aren't bad up there. I wouldn't count on that, though. That beautiful spot of land looks like tick heaven to me! Be cautious of ticks and moose and other wild creatures that were there first! Are you going to build a cabin, or a house, or put a camper on the property, etc? You probably said in a previous video, but I forgot and don't have time right now to go re-watch. Or I can just watch your new videos and let it be a surprise! No problem. Also, do you have a good source of water?
Maine has a special reserved inner beauty in our land. Welcome home brother! Congrats on making your dreams come true!

Oh hell yes. Not quite colorful enough up here in the northeast yet, the more the merrier up here. Waving from 2 states over.
Good luck. Are you trying what my self reliance did? Super cool!!!!
Cool
Maine is so pretty. I'm interested to see how the change in altitude does with your locs.

Good Luck!!! Clean Slate.

We're looking to purchase land Maine too. I was wondering how much you got your 10 acres of land for?
👍 ✌
Hey neighbor! I am in south Aroostook ! Just got a cabin on it. How is it going so far after - 40 cold? I left and snow birded to PA, lol.
all is well here.
