whenever zeb powell does a trick it looks like hes just making some random moves and then trying to not crash hahaha and I love it my goodness he's so good and he's got those intuitive moves it's literally freestyle and it's so good

Right people call it sloppy but it’s because like you said it’s intuitive, the other guys are mostly doing moves they’ve done so many times they have the muscle memory and the reps to make it look smooth or perfect, the “sloppiness” just proves it’s not a scripted freestyle
I agree. I love how authentic it looks. It's like watching someone land something for the first time

Dude Zeb looks like he's having such a good time out there. Unbelievably creative, and so skilled
idk i still think Zeb should've at least podiumed. You can't put every run of his on highlights but not have him at least top 3
he skipped a run so that definitely had to do something with it
4 of Zeb's runs are in the highlights, but he doesn't podium. This is knuck huck. Not superpipe.
Look at these young athletes give it their all while I'm in the hospital recovering from heart failure due to bending over to tie my shoelaces at the ripe old age of 17.
I feel that, I’m 20 and fracture my elbow falling off my bike and we’ve got the likes of Dillon showing us how it’s done
same broke my wrist and then 4 months later broke my collarbone so i am finally evovering after a year

judges must've forgot what event they were judging this year. They just gave the top spots to the most complicated tricks, instead of style, which is what knucklehuck is actually about

This was so much more unique and entertaining than big air where everyone is doing 1440's

@@dylanelazegui2963 there are no points, it’s “overall impression”. Which is why it’s crazy to me the guy using other riders as rails, double shifty buttering, and switching to a massive swallowtail and bucking a coffin backflip method didn’t have the best “overall impression” on the judges. Like the event is about creativity and fun and I feel like the dude making it the most entertaining got the shortest end of the stick
@@VinCrudo also….marcus is up there going crazy but i’m getting tired of him just spinning as much as he can, there’s not much “knuckle huck” energy to his runs, zeb embodied that and got robbed
Feels like there’s some controversy going around with the results. While I do think and I think Marcus does too(hence why he was so surprised when he won) that zeb should have been on the podium or even at the top, doing the butters mid spin the way marcus does is insanely difficult and requires insane skill.
no one else can do it but he’s so good at it that it looks effortless giving the impression that it’s easy. Yes I love the creativity and madness zeb brings and I think personally that’s what should be given the high scores in Knuckle huck, but it’s a hard call comparing mad tricks and super difficult ones.
Stoked on this competition though and it’s always a joy to watch

@@R_O_S ya I did notice that and did find it a bit disappointing actually, Marcus had similar aspects but brought some new tricks so I guess that gave him an advantage. Dusty also had similar tricks but obviously amped up to a dub front flip of the tail. Fridge tho probably had the most unique set of tricks.
I'm mostly amazed with the amount of pop they are getting from just board flex, I expect to see this transition into big air which would be even crazier.

If anyone is wondering, Zebs long board is a 204 or 205. Had the pleasure to talk to the Burton employees making it at the factory, saw it before it was even done! Super sick to see it in comp as they promised
The double front flip and the cab 720 to 720 were hands down the best tricks

I mean yeah maybe Zeb got a LITTLE more sloppy than usual but look at the way he made every run so creative: using props, using a huge CLASSIC old snowboard, like bro

Hope we get to see more like this, it's so much more fun and interesting than the usual pipe and bigair spin to win stuff. I really hope we get some small size slope style as well with more focus on smaller but more creative and stylish tricks.
Maybe even have a spin limit like not more than 720°.
spin limit would be so good in slopestyle. Like you say 720 and double flips max.

I just recently got into watching snowboarding and MAN is it exciting to watch!! I've never even been snowboarding but guess what? It's now a dream of mine. Looks extremely fun

I lost interest in competitions years ago when tricks got so over technical and complicated. Thank God for the knuckle huck bringing back soul and creativity to the sport.

I had to come back and watch this video again I'm sorry but zeb freaking is unreal when it comes to knuckle huck (his stage presence is crazy and I'm just biting my nails in anticipation for what he is going to do), I could care less for the technical spins...I just want to see more creative riders for this section of competition

Nahhh you gotta at least put Marcus on the podium. No one else came even close to 1440 in total spins because if they could, it would take them much longer and wouldn’t be as clean. He’s the one this event is even a thing and there’s a reason for that.
