I don't get it - Harlaut seemed to do the same kind of trick every single run while Tjäder threw big and original stuff. Why did tje judges gave Harlaut the win wtf ?!
To provide some nuance to the comments. Whilst I agree Tjäders tricks are bigger, Henrik is actually using the knuckle to amplify his tricks and style. I like this ruling because it signals that riders need to play to the event rather than treat it like big air and "spin to win" which is what won Colby this event last year.
I agree but the problem i have is that the only changes Henrik is making between runs are either 180 degree increments or the exact same trick but switch
Jesper used the knuckle in every trick except the dub underflip. The switch back full was super creative and he used the knuckle, he tapped his tips on the knuckle on the dub back which was crazy, and the 3 to nb 10 was also using the knuckle and was a more traditional knuckle trick but harder than anything that Harlaut did. If they don't want skiers to treat it like a big air, they shouldn't but that little lip on the knuckle or change the shape or just make clearer rules beforehand.
Good points, although I think the "nose tap" in the dbl flip was by accident than design (still sick). I think Henry's butter tricks were strongest in the field but I agree that judges should make it clear what they will judge for and then riders can decide whether they just want to have fun or if they want to play to win. The reason the medals become so random is because the events are judged differently each year.
My issue is that Henrik did a variant of the same trick all night. Jesper brought something a bit different with every lap. I think the judges thought he was trying to spin to win a style comp, yet none of those tricks would really be seen in slopestyle or big air. The level of difficulty to do those butters imo is about the same as it takes to do alot of what jesper did its just a different style and the judges obviously perfered henriks over jespers. On the brightside if this year follows the same pattern as the last 2 years Jesper will win and we will all think someone else got robbed.(even though most of us like everyone out there)
