How to Reset a Family Passcode on Xbox 360 (Still works in 2021)

Hey Folks, Update in 2022. This video still works, but the portion where you obtain the code for the reset has changed. When you click on account.microsoft.com/devices and register your device, you'll need to click on the Xbox 360 in question and then "Show Details". From this screen click on "Manage" under the console at the top of the page and you'll find the Reset Code option.
Some consoles aren't able to be registered through the website as of 3/11/22, due to end of life support from Microsoft. I'm still looking into it, but it seems like the original model and S model of the Xbox 360 is hit and miss when it comes to registering it on the website. If you do obtain the code, remember to enter in both codes shown back to back without delay and you'll be set to go. It is finnicky, but it works with a little patience.
For right now, if you can't register the console on the website, contact Xbox Support for help registering it. support.xbox.com/en-US/contac...

What's going on everyone, Monkiedude22 here for another Tip, Trick or Tutorial and in this video today, I'm going to share with you some steps that can help you reset your family passcode on Xbox 360.

Having issues entering the code on the console and nothing is showing up? Make sure to enter in part 1 and part 2 of the code back to back without waiting. If you wait too long to enter in the 2nd part of the code, you'll need to start over with entering the code.
Not seeing all of the options? Make sure you do this on a desktop computer or laptop. Mobile devices don't always work properly. Using Desktop Mode in the Mobile Chrome Browser sometimes works though!
Also, you must meet the following criteria to be able to reset your passcode online:
- The Microsoft account you're signing into in order to register the console, must be an adult account.
- The console must be registered under your Gamertag/Microsoft profile online.

Very much obliged. 2 years ago even called Microsoft for assistance. Was on the phone for over an hour trying every code they gave me. nothing worked and so I gave up until I found this by chance on youtube today. Worked the first time no problem. console saver.

I must admit I been trying to reset my pass code for years now. I followed the directions and people need to understand that each device has it own pass code. Please make sure your device is registered, follow the directions to get your code and do as asked. Here is a big Huggggggg for you md22. It was a success......

Havent tried the reset process, but was able to register my xbox360, add the device and get the reset code information just like you instructed. Thanks a bunch!

Hey, this video helped a million, even in 2024. Did need to reference the description, but it was relatively straightforward. Before that, I was brute forcing all 10,000 possible parental control code combinations over the course of a sleepless night and 5 cups of coffee. Helped me not work myself to death lmao. He is the bomb diggity. He explained exactly what I had to do and it happened. he didn't make me jump through 50 hoops to get what I needed. I know he says some mobile devices won't work I did this on my mobile device it worked just fine.
When I click on "More actions" it doesn´t say "Reset passcode" I´m using my xbox 360 elite console and I´m currently signed in on my brother´s account but can´t remember the passcode to my account.

There won't be any box to type the code. So just do it on the info screen

You're very welcome! I know a lot of videos are just throwing out codes and some work, but the truth is they're all usually unique, so I'm glad Microsoft was able to make it a bit easier and I'm even more happy I was able to share it with folks. :)

I got to system settings and it was a screenshot of the system info. I couldn't enter anything. It was already typed in. Nothing I could there. Only option was to go back. Help!

You're going to have to press all the inputs on that screen. There wont be any prompts or anything until all the buttons are pressed

You’re the bomb! My code took a few tries to work for some reason, but it did work.
You have to enter the codes one after the other with no pauses, especially if nothing appears after you input the first code!

Literally go into system info and do the buttons you don’t need any input screen at all just put in the buttons as if you had the input screen there it’s a secret thing Microsoft did it’s frustrating if you don’t know anything about it

Hi, I have followed all of the steps successfully and have entered my serial no. and registered the device. My xbox is the only device that shows but underneath it reads in an orange box: "OUT OF WARRANTY". After a select it it only comes up with 3 options: Change device, find a store and service online. Could someone please explan how I can get my reset code from here, Thanks.

Don't know if this was still help you but if you look at the 2 47 Mark in the video uce displays a website link and it's also down in this description I get this on my phone work just fine found everything I needed to change hope this helps

Do it all at the same time. ex LT, RT, X, Y, LB, RB, X, X, UP, DOWN. (No pauses)

i wonder if the 360s (10.83A) is difernt code from the 360s (9.6A)? ... ive got 9- 360s 10 amp and 8 360s 9amp... ive picked the code for 1 lock out but have one more i cant hack... so im keeping track and using the prosses of ellimiation. ill get the code eventualy... lol
