Thank you very much for the video. I just got done after following along with the video with my own Traxxas Bronco Sunset edition. . Everything works great and looks amazing! Seeing the installation actually performed via video and not just looking at one piece of black and white paper was like having a friend and I install it together. Thanks again!!!
Well made informative video, had all the facts there was to know about this light kit. Maybe you could have added some shots in dark from the installed kit, but otherwise perfect. Thank you, from finland.
Just wanted to post a side note. If you're NOT using the Traxxas ESC which has a power tap for the Lighting power supply, you will need an external BEC to power the lights through that chassis mounted power supply. There's not nearly enough amperage coming through any RX to drive that many LED's in this kit... ask me how I know. :) A Castle Creations BEC 2.0 WP(water proof) fixed my lighting power problems since I run a Mamba X ESC(which has no external power tap like the Traxxas ESC does).
The roof light has been available for quite some time. It’s the same one that’s used on the Defender body. Although, I’m not sure how that would mount or look on the Bronco body.
Great Video! Very direct and clear communication!!👍🏻👍🏻 I have my lights for my TRX-4 Bronco on order too. Can you Please show a video of how to wire it up to your MambaX. I removed the original ESC(accidentally burnt it out). I'm now running the MambaX 1406-2850kv set up on 4s. Don't want to burn out my Lights😁
i have a trx4 bronco also and bought the light kit for it like you did. i also bought an aftermarket 5 led light bar for it. i am running a stock receiver and was wondering how to install. can i just run a 3 way spliitter out of the esc and plug in that way. will there be a problem because traxxas lights work on 3 amps i think and the light bar works between 4.7 and 6. i am kinda new to rc and please explain if you know, in laymans terms lol.great video
Michael Rajca - better off running the light kit per the instructions off on the esc. For the light bar, Unplug the plug in the ESC in slot 4 or 5 and Use a y-connector. Plug the removed plug into one side of the y and plug the light bar into the other side. Should work just fine.
Finally these are back in stock and I just ordered one. Two quick questions. How can I power this thing with another external battery? And what is the purpose of the connection to the receiver? Thanks for the video man.
For an external battery, you could cut the power tap from part number #7286 and solder on a connector for your preferred battery. Not sure if the power supply that comes with the kit #8030 is different since it plugs directly into the ESC. I'm not exactly sure why the power supply has to be plugged into the receiver. I'm thinking it has to do with consistent power so the lights don't dim but haven't researched it.
thinking about it a bit, you may be able to use a small battery with a JST plug and plug directly into the supplied power supply. Never tried it but nothing more than a 2S LIPO should be ok I would think?
From what I've seen, the light kits that plug into a receiver usually have some sort of functionality, like working brake lights, reverse lights, turn signals, etc. Does the Traxxas kit do any of that? Do the brake lights get brighter when stopped? I think for powering the lights I'll get a small NiMh battery to install up front this way there's no additional drain on the main battery. According to Traxxas basically any battery will work since it's regulated through the power module. What do you think of the light kit overall like is it bright enough? I noticed the kit only runs at 3V (and some others can run on 12V directly off the JST) so I fear it may not light up the trails at night enough and was just focused on the scale appearance. Please tell me I'm wrong and it's nice and bright!
OK, weird but there has to be a reason and I'm sure you're right probably has to do with stabilizing the voltage or something. So are they bright in your opinion, enough to illuminate the trails to see where you're going? If not I may cancel my order and get a kit that runs directly on the JST.
The kit is a lot of money and do the indicators work as they do not on the D110 kit. For the money I think the cheap light kits off ebay do a better job on the D110. But then I do not fit a lot of light kits as for me just wires in the way.
I can’t get my taillights into the hole and watched your video see how it’s done and you edited that moment out…. I must be missing something, I’ll keep at it.
Thanks for your support. I'm a rc beginner. I have the same bronco and now it has light.
Thanks a lot again.

Do the indicator lights blink when turning?

@@aeroj5 - Click the link above and the set-up is the same!

@@AxiomaticPro thanks alot , thats what i thought
Can it be controlled by the Traxxas app? The app provides light settings saying daylight - low- high
I'm curious why they sell the aluminum headlight buckets... Looks like they're not needed with this kit. 🤔

No, no change in the lights during turning or braking.

gonna have to pick that up, thank you, ohhh where did you get the faux spare tire?
BlackehartRC - I found it on Traxxas.com. I think I just got on at the right time and day!
Axiomatic RC Oh yea I see them on there, and it mounts to the body? Slick
Did you have to drill holes through the front of the body behind the grill or were those holes predrilled by the manufacturer? Hope to hear from ya.
Hinsley Mithralnuggets - everything was predrilled in the front. Thanks for watching!
🐢🐢👍
Great video! By the way, do you have an Indian Ringneck parrot? LOL I thought I heard their familiar screaming for attention.
UnkTob - haha sure don’t! Thanks for watching!
Can you wash this RC when It got dirty? I just wondered is this waterproof from normal.
yes

Basildon Trail Blazing Buddies - indicators stay solid. No turn signals.

Does the kit come with grease? If not, what kind of grease would I use? Thanks
any water resistant grease will do
Where did you get the rear tire carrier!!
