    I have had some fun with this truck but when it comes down to it this is a work truck in the end!

    Traded a Cummins for a 2020 Ferd. I'm totally impressed. The Ford powertrain is so much more refined than the Cummins/68RFE combo. You can't even compare the two. Night a day difference. While towing 4th of July pass and Mullan pass, I'm easily able to pass the gutless gassers struggling to climb the 6% grades. 2020 Powerstroke is BEAST

    I’ve owned 3 diesel trucks, 2008 F450(junk), 2016 RAM 3500 ( transmission replaced at 95k). I now have a 22 F350, it’s a beast. I get better fuel mileage towing, the transmission is perfect. I don’t really like the exhaust brake but not a big deal. The Ford drives smooth and is quiet inside the cab. It would be hard to go back to RAM.

    Test drove a 2019 and 2020, bought the 2020. I've owned alot of trucks, never been so happy with one. The 10 speed is probably my favorite part but man that power is there!... also though it's been around for a few years the aluminum body was huge selling point for me as I live in PA and our roads get heavily salted in the winter. Hopefully I'll have mine for a loong time.

    Thank you for doing an update video like this. I started looking into trading up from my 17 Tacoma which I loved, but it was just too small. Found your channel back in February or so and have been watching ever since. Ordered my 2020 F-250 Platinum (exactly like yours, but with the FX4 package) in July and took delivery late September. I absolutely love it and we have already put nearly 4500 miles on it since then. It seems that when you take care of the vehicle, it'll take care of you.

    With all the heavy towing that you do, you should add the Ford rear sway bar and overload springs. Most Platinums dont have those. Also, if you swap your rear spring perches with F350 spring perches, it will eliminate the negative rake and you wont have to always run your airbags. Remember to get new u-bolts as they are not reusable.

I haven’t looked back no surprises.. and the new interiors on the Rams So well-made Bluetooth stays connected very nice & comfortable. I could never go back.... been waiting years for Ford to step up their game on the interior too much plastic for the price and I believe once they do the truck will be ridiculously priced.

Then I got the 2020 F350 6.7 Tremor Platinum & I love it even more than the first regular Super Duty 2020. Then I got the Banks Pedal Monster September 20 after watching your Banks video & I love it. It's hard to go back to "Stock" setting on the Pedal Monster after using the "City" or "Sport" mode. And you were 100% correct about how it tows so much better using the Pedal Monster when I am hauling the 14k LBS dump box. I found the "Sport" mode setting at 10 just a little too jumpy for stop & go driving if I am stuck in rush hour traffic. @@workplaytv A video isn't necessary, I'm just skeptical of internet mpg claims, especially when they fall well outside of the typical #'s. I see a lot of people quoting xx mpg at 70mph, when all they did was reset the mpg meter while cruising down the highway. Also, generally speaking, larger more aggressive tires don't improve mpg's over stock tires.
      I've been truck shopping and the f250 is on my short list. Looking at going with the 7.3 gas because of the cp4's and I don't tow much any more. Fuelly is only showing a difference of around 4-5 mpg between the 6.7 & 7.3 f250's. For 2020 F250's, fuelly is showing 23 6.7's averaging 15.2 and 11 7.3's averaging 11.8 mpg. Maybe the #'s are skewed with more people towing with the diesel, but there still aren't many showing over 17-18 mpg on there.

    • @zombieslayer556
      @zombieslayer556 Před 3 lety +1

      I am guessing the numbers on fuelly are skewed by towing or lots of city driving. My 2020 350 with the 6.7 gets 20-21 on the interstate. Depending on how/where you drive your truck, I would see no reason you can’t average in the 18-19mpg range easily. Would say the sweet spot on mpg ends around 77mph (10th gear around 1800 rpm) and it sucks the fuel.
      Also, regens chew through diesel. Depending on how you drive/use the truck, you can cause more to happen and pull down averages significantly.
      One thing to consider on the oversized tires... while they may impact fuel burn under acceleration, they also keep the engine speed slightly lower (diesels like this) at highway speeds. Not sure if this plays a role, but something to consider as well...

    "Small" trucks haven't really been a thing here in the U.S. for awhile, minitrucks have been popular for a long time in other markets. Check out Adolfo's 1999 Chevy Corsa pickup (next to an F-150 for scale)! He says:
    "I recently bought my first vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Corsa pickup that cost me about 600 bucks.
    It is a small mighty mouse that is not been sold in the united states as far as I know, and I want to review it for you if you want!
    It's payload is of 1000 pounds;
    Towing capacity of 1500 pounds;
    Curb weight of 1700 pounds;
    28 mpg city and up to 40 on the highway;
    It has 217,000 milles on the odometer.
    And to be honest, it's adorable. Almost everything works on it. I have installed on it a hitch recently that will be reinforced soon, so we can make a towing test."

    My truck purchase went down to the Ford F350 in the ram 3500. Got the ram 3500 is about 5000 less cost. The Ford had some great features I like the engine I like the aluminum body I think a 10 speed transmission is a good idea but without owning one I wouldn’t know that but the real clincher was how do they drive the Ram-just drove better. Felt more solid and tracked better on road surface. I like the fact that Cummings made the engine one of the original Diesel engines manufacturers in the USA (started in 1918). I liked the fact that 6 cylinders have a larger bore piston than a V8 engine. The new 2020 Cummings with roller rocker valve train is super quiet the Ford have must more diesel noise. I think if I was beating the shit out of my new truck on a farm i would get the Ford. I got the Ram to tow my 5th wheel camper.
