Had no idea how to set mine up since i threw away the instructions a while back! great stuff!
This was so easy to set up. I did it on my Tablet in about 3 minutes. All you have to do is connect to the TP-LINK wifi on your phone or tablet first.
Would be nice if you told us about what your internet speeds are with Ethernet cable directly connected to your computer
I was wondering, if it is at the same spot why the phone signal drops by 1 sqaure??
I have brought the UK version of this and the setup is slightly different. I recommend setting this up using the TP - Link tether app as it's just simpler to set up that way. The complete setup took me around 20 mins. The speed to expect will be around 95% - 100% of the usual speed of your router depending on how many are on the network. When choosing a place to put the extender do it in an area where you still have around 4/5 bars of Wi-fi as the further you are the higher the speed penalty. The range for this is very good and is as advertised. I'm very happy with it.
How do I make it work on my compooter cus it’s not giving me internet access
Nice one Peter! I'll have to pick on of these up.
Thank you for doing this video, just got mine set up correctly after watching!
True
Nice videos... You can confiq this wireless but you can change the orig password?
I bought this one off amazon, got it hooked up but I can’t figure out why it’s saying it’s an unsecured network. So now it’s unplugged. Do you have a suggestion?
Thanks,
What if you have 2 networks 2.4 and 5? Can you put both on this extender?
Just bought this yesterday. Super easy setup. I was having some issues with WiFi speeds in the area I have my Xbox setup. I bought this and plugged an Ethernet cable right into it and the speed is significantly better. Almost as if I have it plugged into the actual router. Worth the money. Download speeds were improved by a mile. 👍🏾
Honestly was thinking of this. My wifi bad so I bought ac1750 still slow so in gonna buy the wire, hopefully it will go better
@@arska9744 honestly it worked for few days I did a speed run on my computer without it and it was 144, when I connected with the wire it went to 489 until 2 days ago idk it just hasn't been working so I unconnected. I will reconnect it today and see if it works
@@DragonNB13 did it Work?
@@mikailkanar8636 yea. I had a few trial and error. But after a few trys it works ...but it don't work far but nearby yes its fantastic..
@@mikailkanar8636 doesn't really wrk with the wire
Hi can i put this in in this topology.? I have put a simple tp link extender in my home and i want to put this in 30 meters away from home to my office. can this be work by taking the signal from the small repeater of my home to my office 30 meters away with trees in between and working flawlessly? Thanks
Will it work on a room that is exactly the same place but two floors above
Do you need to use the ethernet port?
How does my Wifi Extender really work off my old weak slow throttle wifi? Yet it does?
Thank you Peter.
Bought this and the Ethernet port gives a strong and more stable connection it is very very worth it. I was looking at power lining my connection until I found this
Hey, are you connecting to original connection via 5ghz and then connecting wired devices via the gigabit ethernet port?
Just got this and it is worth it
Does it work with a spectrum router?
Have used this model for about 3 months. Can now use wifi in my garage (totally dead before) and can watch HD content in my family room and update devices via wifi) another total dead spot. Easy to set up. Only downside is it blocks both outlets.
thought about getting a power bar? Then it wouldn't block both outlets.
can i plug this into my modem to use as a wireless router?
Hi, would you know if this extender supports WPA Enterprise security WiFi connections?
Can you use more than one with the same router
Thank you for all of the information.
I used it as Acces point and it works great but you must check the new IP in your router or you cant get on it to do some software settings.
I get a weak wifi security on my iPhone when I connect to this extender. Is there any fix to that?
worked well for me. very happy
Important question: I live in a pretty rural area, the cutoff point for any WiFi service providers is 2 houses down (about 1000 ft away). I currently extend to their router with a crappy netgear extender and do get low speed connection most days, but still usable. Will this extender boost those results?
not likely. The extender should be place closer to where you want tho good wifi but stil within good range of the wifi original router. Wifi strength is the same in about all equipment. So you just win the amount of meters that the extender is closer to your goal area while you had to place it inside a good working distance from your router. So in total you win about an extra half range in the direction you are hanging your extender. If the router range was 20 meters, you have to place the extender at about 12.5 meters from the router. From the extender you probably get about 20 meters again. This means a total of 12.5 + 20 meters from the orignal router.
If the main roter has radio on AUTO will the extender also change radio channel automatically?
Can i create different ssid for this extender? Can i setup in ip adress extender gui or only connect in wps?
I have a wireless security camera that is showing a low signal will this boost it. Do I need to be closer to the computer router or closer to the camera
Just returned it as even after chatting twice too technical support and twice on the phone , I gave you and returned it
After everything is setup and installed, on your WiFi devices like cameras, cell phones, etc. Do you connect those to the TP Link or to your regular home Wi-Fi? Thanks and great video.
Yes
Could you help me this!! We see it tp link appears on phone click it as wifi to use to configure on connection with or go back home wifi?? If I use its wifi tp link it fail connection as long using home wifi I can see step click on decivce number but failed also please
Nice review. Buying one now
yea trying to set this up has been a nightmare. I've tried both online and their tethering app. Every time the extender appears I can't connect to it, get booted from it when I reach the end of set up, or it disappears from the accessible wifi list. Its been very annoying
Could I for example plug a pc with ethernet into that ? Would that work?
Two quick questions"
Does the repeater differentiate between the original network and the extended network? Edimax's repeater for instance emanate a different SSID with the addition of EX in the end.
Second, do you have to set up the 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks separately or is it a one stop shop setup?
Thanks for the review

WHY IS IT that every time I open a video about WiFi RANGE extenders all they talk about is WiFi SPEED????????????????????? I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT PICKING UP WIFI FROM A GREATER DISTANCE. Hence the word "RANGE".
Watch the video again. The device works.
I have the one in the video and connect to it from outside the house, about 150 feet away.
He said that he went to the farthest corner of his home. How big is your home?
What good is distance if you cant even get speed out of it but I get what u are saying for me im over 40 ft away from my router and 20 feet away from my extender and I'm getting great speeds and my connection strength is 75% so I say it did the job for me
@@Mogazilla I took mine out because it was confusing my phone. 😅
I don't know why, but it was messing up my phone.
On the directions it says plug it in next to your router then set it and move it. But it looks like you simply put it downstairs without doing the first set. am I correct.
i live in a basement and the router is upstairs but the wifi is very poor is down here and i just wanted to know if this would work
Just bought this extender re500 want to extend WiFi signal to my garage to get better signal to my Ring floodlight camera hope it will work
Did it work?
HELLO SIR, I HAVE A QUESTION
MY FRIEND HOUSE IN 200 M AWAY FROM MY ROOM, CAN THIS DISTANCE THIS EXTENDER CAN TRAVEL ? , I AM USING MI ROUTER C3/R3L 300 MBPS . MY BROADBAND SPEED IS 75 MBPS
Does it work with a hotspot?
Is this good for gaming ?
I get a weak wifi security on my iPhone when I connect to this extender
what do i do if i cant connect to the website?
Please, I don't understand the use of this cos am using Huawei router and if I buy this am I going l stop using the Huawei or it will just extend my wifi signal range?
Can I use to attach my Home run
It’s works but mine turns off every hour does anyone know why?
There are lots of refurbished model at E-bay. Does that say anything to you guys? Build quality? Durability? Something might go wrong.
I set up my TP-Link AC1750 but it does not show the lock on the Wi-Fi it says its not security how do i secure it ?
My extender has now cancelled out my previous weak service in the living room. Ugh!
Wow I was in the process of looking for wifi extenders and saw this today literally. And as soon as I looked it up on CZcams I found this video. Nice timing huh? lol thx for the review man

Thanks I'm about ready to set mine up. Glad that its simple to set up.
Update doing g mine is not that easy. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
did you figure out what was wrong?
@@ReviewersAreUss I did I had to reset the modem every time it wouldn't connect. I had to reset it. But I finally just stopped using it. It didn't really extend my range. My house is 1 level 1700 sq ft and I put the extender in my Master bedroom because I need the signal in my bathroom which is attached to my bedroom and it still dropped off. Also my phone became confused. I don't know why.
Hi! Nice review! :) I am thinking to buy one of these.
I have a question though and I'd be thankful if you could look into it: Can this device be used as a repeater for a public hotspot that requires authentication over the portal? So to take the WiFi signal and let me somehow in the interface login with a user and password onto that network. And then the repeater to share that network in the apartment.
Thanks a lot!
no i dont think so bruhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I have a 2 storied building (split level). What is the good location to install the device?
As long as it shares the same electrical circuit bored. It goes where you most needed. Worst case scenario you buy more too spread across different rooms
one of my friends lives like 5 apartments down but i manage to still get wifi and i have his password will this allow me to use his internet without it being so slow
Great! I'm considering to buy this one...How many meters from the router can i plug this extender!?
3-4 meters or something I don't now I bought one and tomorrow it gets delivered I'm gonna talk to you tomorrow when I got the results
VikingClan how is it??
@@jakev227 I got a different one it's ok not great but ok
12000 sqm.
I get a weak security on my iPhone when I connect to this extender…
is this good for gaming???
I bought this one which was more expensive than the model below it and expected better results. Its crap. Makes my internet slower and did many different speed tests on it. I bought it at The Source and they have a no return policy. So threw a hundred bucks out the window. Not a happy camper. On another point in your video are you suggesting to put it far away from your main router? I have only tried several locations on my main floor but have a Mac downstairs and never tried the extender being plugged in down there. Thanks for your help. Good video but just not happy with the unit.
Hello,,I use all the following steps,,but I can't have internet access,,,,it write that ,,( no internet access),, please help me, what should I do
Which von is best
I have used a tp link extender b4 and after 48 hrs the signal drops out. has that ever happened with that model b4?
All the time
alot of the time yeah...
Those 5 ghz repeaters they give you the full speed of the internet without cable with the right settings
Anyone ever extended connectivity from an iphone hotspot using any of these extenders?
Do you know if you can use the wifi booster and the ethernet port at the same time?
Yes
Is the ethernet port.. for internet to go into the repeated or for internet to come out?
@@zane7123 for the internet to come out, so you can connect your games consoles or whatever via internet cable
Should I have it closer to the router or closer to my ps4 that I’m trying to connect to?
ErraHD
Good Q
Should be ur router.. But make sure the signal is adequate..
Its the best too get it in the middle. But more to the router so it can extend the signal better
This ac1750 works ok for a few hours then just gets temperamental the only solution I found out is unplug and plug it back then may go ok for few hours or not.
Same thing for me it’s so annoying
I have this but my firestick will not connect to it can anyone help
I bought this on Amazon and it worked well for a week then I went to turn it on and it didn't work anymore, I returned it and got my money back. Has anyone else had this problem?
I cannot wait to get this!!!! i have 500kbs internet and this video was great help thank you so much!!
How is it so far ?
I asked then students in computer room to connect this wifi repeater and not one was able to make connection with all instruction information But when did the test we only work on windows 10 and then we did the same test on windows seven and there the installation was done in five minutes Users in Belgium buy products with works after you plug it in but this tool is not plug and play
Do devices automatically connect to either the router or the extender as you move around the house?
when you chose the password i think you need to connect once then it will connect to the wifi with the strongest connection either your home base or the tp link. this way it can be equally spread out the usage
for this you need meshing which requires router and extender to support it and work together. This extender obviously doesn't do that.
I tried it today. In my case I think I would be better off just using a second router as an ap or as just the router. turn the isp router into just a modem and use an ethernet to connect a router to broadcast the wifi. I will be taking it back to the store!
DOESN’T WORK WHIT ME...
how can I disable the wps function in the RE450 repeater?
you can't unfortunately
Arigatou Maruko San
I just ordered one, i hope it gets me good results. I have a lot of connection problems in my room upstairs.
and?
@@bapecape2727 It works amazingly! The 5ghz is really worth it and the repeater is gives basically stronger signal then the original router it is repeating, i am also on the repeater downstairs or in the garden xd.
Good
Hello, I have a doubt about OneMesh. Is is different from DECO mesh?
I want to connect a computer by ethernet wire to a OneMesh router
then connect a computer by ethernet wire to a OneMesh repeater.
Could this 2 computers exchange files between them?
Just purchased . Not working for me. No Internet. I've been trying to get the internet to work with it for about a week and nothing. I will most likely be returning if I can't get it working.
Hoped you would show how far from the router it works. I need one for my garage to connect wireless cctv cameras to
I also need my internet in my garage but it’s fucking awful, very bad connection
Works extremly good as an accesspoint so change the mode in settinga from range extender to accesspoint.
HPESC International AB how?
When you log into it you will have that option to change the mode. You can toggle between extender and accesspoint. When you use it as an accesspoint you have to connect with a networkcable from the router to the tplink. When you do this, first connect it by the cable without mounting the cable so that you can test where it will give the best signal (probably somewhere in the middle of the house). Here where i live i have it mounted in a house next to my house (so the tplink is not even in my house) and i have full signal on my pc here wich here is what they say they deliver = around 250 Mbit/s.
You will have the work to draw the cable but it is worth it. It gives me better signal than 3 mesh units together that i tried. With the 3 mesh units i got under 100 Mbit/s.
However if you use the tplink as an extender then the result is not so good
If you connect it with a cable to move the repeater. Wouldn’t it be easier just to move your original router with a cable to the location of your repeater?
17.81 Mbps is still pretty shitty. What is the down load speed directly to your modem?
It would have been great if you could have plugged an RJ45 cable (from your router) into the device and tested it.
I'm currently lookin for someone that does that...I also would like to know
I use this extender-repeater just to make a non wifi pc, wifi. Hook the thing via the app to the router. Then put utp between the extender and the pc and voila I have a wifi pc.
will i have to connect to the ext wifi foe gaming or do i stay connected to my main router
For gaming, use the Ethernet on the repeater for greater speeds and lower ping but connecting to the repeater is also fine. As you may of seen at 5:44, the ping is 39 ms (even though it may vary) it still means that ping will be low, thus you should connect wirelessly/with wires to the repeater depending if the router connection is better or if the repeater connection is better. Whatever is better, go for it, preferably using Ethernet.
@@0x5c no the wirless is better
Hey i cant get this to connect to my ps4 can someone help
Did you ever figure it out? I just got this and the PS4 cant find the signal while other devices can.
I took mine back to the store because it was useless. They do have a no return policy but I basically said how was I to know it was garbage until I tried it? He got my drift that I wouldn't ever go back to the store so he reluctantly took it back and said he would send it back to the company and say it was defective. Save your money on this gimmick. Its not worth the money and made my internet slower and worse. The manager also said this unit is not compatible with fibre optics. That could have been my main problem. Most people wont know that.
I never can configurate this model . I now why.
2021 who’s watching this and considering buying this? Or bought this?
I bought this cuz im only getting 17mbps lmao but with my internet i paid to have 1000 mbps and im just not getting it bc my room is at the edge of the house so I bought this hoping it would work and the 5ghz works amazing, before I was only getting 80 mbps now im getting speeds of 220 mbps in my room great buy if you ask me as for the 2.4ghz which I never use anyways, it it slower than I thought, its only 24 mbps for some reason but the normal one is around 60 idk what that is but the 5ghz is so much better now
so you don't have to link this to your router?
you welcome
when i try to connect it is asking me for a pin code on my main router but i can not find a pin code. anyone who can help?
I think it's on the back I srsly don't know lol
They mean with pincode your password for when you login to your normal network I think.
