    you can hookup your router via the ethernet cable, you have to switch the operation mode from repeater to access point.

    With the ethernet port you definitely can (and should, for best speed) use it as an "access point". You do have to change the operating mode in the settings.

      @@NevsTechBits If you end up setting it up as an access point please write a comment about what kind of speeds you get, I'm kind of curious. I ended up buying an Archer C80 instead, it arrives tomorrow.
      By the way, I like your basement decorations, very cool room.

      I have my RE450 set as an access point and am getting 402 Down by 101 Up, which is all I'm getting from my ISP at the moment. For best performance I recommend setting the wifi mode to AC only and to manually select either channel 48 or 161 (non DFS channels). Getting a good usable connection up to 25ft through concrete walls.
