    If you've got two or more of these bad boys, you can setup one near the modem/router in access point mode. In this mode the Ethernet port can be used to connect directly to the modem/router. This can be a neat little upgrade for those stuck with proprietary ISP modem/routers with weak WiFi. The extra extenders can then be used as clients.

    how about a network speed test instead of internet speed test via the extender?
    testing the extender really says nothing, you're just testing the pipe speed to past the modem.
    File transfers from computer to computer/ server?

      @BB-mt5no Před 3 lety +2

      Or even better an actual signal strength reading in dBm. Should be using Wi-Fi Analyzer or some other utility to measure signal strength. Then maybe a file transfer comparison in a spot where signal is improved. It should still be slower than in the house, but better than disconnecting at range.

    • @Nick_Jarrett
      @Nick_Jarrett Před 7 měsíci

      A year after your question but I've had issues with one old one, TL-WA850RE, after a few months connected it just didn't allow anything connected to access the Internet until I unplugged and plugged it back in and it caused my old win10 laptop to refuse to find any wifi access points until rebooted so I kept it in ethernet. The ac750 dual band I upgraded to has been completely fine, I upgraded to a another brand with 4 aerials and gigabit ethernet and it's just stopped working after a year so I'm back to the ac750 while I wait for the ac1750 to arrive. Never had issues with their ethernet switch before I upgraded to a gigabit netgear one
