      Hey intresting mechanism. I dont take lemon because i have GERD. But I as I do my tourettic rituals (i dont think i still have tourettes right now, i think they're gone, panic attack takes place now) through yawning such that my face is like yours on that video, I also feel better after. However mine occurs simultaneously due to any stimuli, when I think about them there's no undo in the panicking.

      I can’t even be calm at home alone. I can’t watch a movie because right after I wake up after I open my eyes anxiety kicks in. It changed my personality overtime and can’t come out of it. I don’t feel safe nowhere. Now this lemon trick helps a bit but I don’t know for how long. I tried i would say close to a 1000 things to fight my anxiety and after a little while all failed. • @meowJACK
      @meowJACK Před 7 měsíci +4

      It's useful for very mild, minor "panic attacks". Any actual severe panic attacks won't be helped by this. When you're in excruciating, agonizing distress, taking a sip of lemon juice isn't going to erase that. Simply distracting yourself is not enough for someone going through a severe panic attack.

    • @HollyWilliamsgaden
      @HollyWilliamsgaden Před 5 měsíci

      @@janeausten6419 it makes no sense what helped me but it did...one day I was driving and had to go over that pesky swing bridge to get out of my city and I had an orange in my truck. As I was starting to drive over it I thought I will peel my orange to keep my mind occupied on something else...and it worked. So from that moment on I would always drive with an orange in my truck until one day, I didn't need that orange anymore. When it comes to bridges I am completely fine now, however movie theaters, music concerts or anywhere there are a tonne of people is a different story. I have to be able to have an unimpeded escape route. That's why I had panic attacks going over bridges. I was afraid my truck would break down (am I spelling break right? Or is it brake?) and you're not allowed to stop on bridges, I would cause a pile up of vehicles on the bridge, knowing my luck a boat would need to come under at that time and because of my broken down truck the boat wouldn't be able to go under because the bridge wouldn't be able to swing. Oh and then what if there's an earthquake......MY MIND WOULD GO OFF!!! However an orange kept me from thinking those thoughts for those minutes I drove over that bridge and others.
      I wish you all the best my friend. You've got this. It's just your mind and you can control that. Best of luck and lots of love!

    • @babyboomem8067
      @babyboomem8067 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Don't tell yourself to "calm down" because it draws more attention to your panic and thus makes it worse. Don't try to control your anxiety. Rather, be curious about it.
      Whenever I feel anxious, I immediately say to myself "OK, I am feeling anxious" or "I acknowledge that I am feeling anxious." - don't try to ignore it or run away from it.
      Then, remind yourself that anxiety is just a feeling, and it's okay to feel it. "It is OK to feel anxious." Because it is! It is okay to feel anxious. It is okay to feel panicked.
      After that, incorporate some breathing and grounding techniques. I like to do box breathing and the classic name 3 things that you see, hear, and feel. I would highly recommend being prayerful as well if you are spiritual.
      It ultimately comes down to making peace with your anxiety, which sounds crazy, but there is no such thing as bad without good. It takes time and practice. Remember also to listen to your body and be mindful of its needs.

      It's both. It's the whole thing-focusing on any kind of intense or unusual stimulus will help to ground you and bring you back to "reality." It's an old CBT technique. You can let a Hershey's kiss dissolve on your tongue, hold an ice cube in your hand as it melts, splash your face with icy cold water (although that one actually has a physiological explanation as well).

    People.... this is fake... this is a joke and a sick one... I struggle for real and last night it was triggered by a cigarette the first time in my life so I didnt make the connection. after 10-20 minutes of trying to control my breathing and text a girl that can speak some good logic it really helped take my mind off... Vocal speaking can make it worse because the the shallow breathing. So 20 minutes later I take 2 drags of a cigarette and bam right back into it for another 5 to 10 minutes so I started to wonder if the blood pressure spike from the nicotine was triggering this AS WELL AS THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY AND POSSIBLE DEHYDRATION. Yep all of that and then some worked together and so many things can throw curve balls at you making it real hard to isolate the cause. This one might even be related to a neck injury I dont know Im kinda trippin. When this all happened my back felt cold and kinda numb... Anyway I wake up and give an hour and then take 2 drags of a cigarette and bam yet another one but only for like 3 to 5 minutes. It wasnt as intense cuz knowing the causes are half the battle to relaxing. These things can make you feel poisoned or any weird theory you can think of and with no one to talk you down it can rollercoaster for a while. So now I need a smoke real bad but I did get away with one drag however I could still feel the high blood pressure spike. This morning I went to the fire station and they confirmed blood pressure was high blood sugar was low and blood Oxygen was perfect. Im still scared cuz its been 10 to 15 years since Ive had these and now all of a sudden it just comes with a drag of a cigarette... thats creepy but might be a blessing in disguise. The reason Im all over this post is just before this happened I ate cookie with a juice mix that had 2 limes worth of juice.. same as lemons and it sure didnt stop me from having one. This post kind of pisses me off cuz the moron in the video isnt even having one and of course the music is stupid but why tiktok and why not just talk? Why the captions and music its lame and on top of all that it's not even close to a real remedy... Almost as if its clowning on us with the whole "when life gives you lemons" line.... That's my take... but these are real and very torturous and I beg people if its reallllly bad just don't give up. The stimulants are bad and I should know better plus weed can have a reverse affect. I work on a farm and get 420 alllll day for free and even I have to have self control but people everywhere are finding out the hard way that weed can kick off a bad one... peace yall
