What a mistake. This is some of the most entertaining content I have watched.
Your channel is the only star wars related content I've watched in a long time. I was so disappointed by The Force Awakens, which is a scene by scene clone of A New Hope, but still watched the following 2 movies. Then I was done with it. Disney also destroyed Marvel after Endgame and so much of their content is pure garbage. Their corporate culture seems to have become a very toxic echo chamber. Please continue producing your great content!

I like Snarky Jay's spirit as well. These videos have made me wonder what is wrong with the newer shows. I think it is partially, Disney is to busy trying to make them into Dramas. In my mind Star Wars was always small on science and big on Fiction. Saturday morning content for kids. Lots of action, comedy and surprise. They seem to be shooting these new series more for adults, and quiet frankly we've got more than enough adult based stuff out there. Give us stuff that will appeal to young teenagers, and I'll bet it still pulls in the adults to. I can not think of a single funny thing about Andor, or what I've seen of Acolyte thus far (they don't seem bad to me, but they don't fill me with a sense of wonder either). Book of Bobba Fett turned the greatest mysterious character from my childhood into a boring guy trying to move into management, and enlisting the hover moped kids? I didn't understand what they were trying to do there.

I'm grateful that i got to see Star Wars in the summer of '77 when it was something new and wonderful. But i also pity myself for having lived long enough to see what it's become.
Born in 76 so I didn't see the OG in the theaters, but watched them over and over on THX VHS. I'm there with you on living long enough to see the destruction of our beloved franchises.

I feel you, I was introduced to Star wars via the prequel trilogy and then went back for the original trilogy. JJ Abrams "Star Trekification" and Rian Johnson's pointless deconstruction in the sequel trilogies turned me right back off, I'm just here to witness the drama. Haven't watched any of the Disney shows, not even Mando so while I empathise, I'm glad I'm not as attached to it
I also grew up with the original trilogy and fondly remember those days. I agree with your comments and SnarkyJay of course.
I was born in 67 and saw the original twice in 1977 with my dad at the North Augusta Hilltop Drive Inn. He loved Star Wars so much that he forced me to watch it with him in our Volkswagon Beetle while breathing in the fumes from the burning circular mosquito repellent. I liked it better when Star Wars took years to produce, not months. Nowadays, they sling whatever crap they come up with against the wall and hope it sticks. I don't consider anything Disney has done as canon, especially the sequels.

You know what's disappointing. Ahsoka Tano is really the star of this whole universe. And series they made disrespected everything about her. She was trained by the most powerful jedi ever lived. She have skills from both sides. She was anakin skywalker padawan and treated her like his child. He valued her and was the tie between both good and evil.
She could've been just like him but chose to not walk with both sides. To find her own path in life. She literally can take on a army on her own.

I was a few years older than you, but my baby brother was 5 at the time. He like me was so excited and I remember watching him as we both stared at the screen in awe. We didn't have much growing up, but we had each other. Star Wars and Superman that came out a year later were life changing.

Rogue One wasn't TERRIBLE, but it still told a story we already knew the ending of, starring a bunch of characters we knew were going to die, so all in all, pretty pointless.
@@sparrow420500 I thought it was excellent, we got to really see the sparks of the rebellion and what facilitated the capture of the Death Star plans. It was nice to see a story through the eyes of normal people it really shows the lethality and danger that the Empire actually posed. It was a good break from all the Jedi, sith, and Skywalker stuff. The Skywalker saga is finished and Disney should really be exploring other things like the high republic and I’d love to see some old republic stuff as well.
I'm grateful for Disney Star Wars. I find your Star Wars rants 100 times more fun and interesting than anything the franchise has put out in a LOOOOOOOOONG time and if it weren't for the Acolyte I might never have discovered your channel. I was thinking the same thing. Star Wars belongs to the people it's part of our culture, it has decades of history and lore. Millions of people have become emotionally invested in it, they love and understand it, Star Wars is part of them.

As a child, the wait between Star Wars movies was intolerable and each release considered an event. Now, Disney has taken my childhood down an alley and kicked it to death behind a dumpster.
Loved Disney ever since I saw Bambi in 3rd grade back in the 70s. Loved Star Wars a few years later in 1977 while watching it in a packed movie theater. Now in 2024 both aren't worth it anymore. Along with Marvel Comics which I started collecting in the 70s.
I survived the 90's where there was no new Star Wars on TV or movies until 1999... the special editions of the Original Trilogy don't count. I played the PC games to kinda keep our fill until Phantom Menace came out. I would rather go back to that than just having content for the sake of it... it has to be good or it just dilutes or makes the IP worse. I was actually going to do an art tutorial video drawing what I thought would be a cool idea for a sith on my own channel but...I just don't care about Star Wars anymore. I can't see myself buying, supporting, even doing private commissions or fan art. In a way it's liberating since I'm more interested in my own projects again. That's something I'm grateful for.

It's true, we should all be grateful for numerous classic characters and iconic franchises that they are mercilessly destroying over and over again. Star Wars was a film franchise for the whole family to enjoy, now it's just a vessel for hollow propaganda and bad storylines. In all seriousness, how could anyone (in their right mind) be grateful for what they've done to cinema over the past few years?R.I.P. Disney Star Wars.

Well said! I've never understood that defeatist, low IQ attitude of "just be grateful for the Star Wars we are getting". The Sonic fans didn't accept "ugly Sonic", voiced their dismay, and the director admitted it was garbage and changed course, now they have multiple movies and millions of dollars in success. Its fine that casuals actually like Disney Star Wars, but the rest of us want better for the franchise we have grown to love. Its a shame the people in charge don't care.
Big difference here: The sonic animation was purely a visual change. People couldn't call it "woke" or whatever. Also, it's not a matter of "casuals". Maybe it's a matter of changing times or looking for reasons to hate something to the point of not being able to enjoy something.
@@JustSayin2216 sonic is purely a visual character so its integral to get that right, same way the lore/themes of star wars are integral to get right.
The saddest part for me (avid fan since 1977) we use to have a weekly gathering of my kids and nephews to eagerly watch the current season of all related to Star Wars , but this one they told me they just don’t want to watch it , so just like that my family quality time just went out the window .😰😢😓😞🤦🏻, good thing we are doing more hiking , fishing and camping .
As a person who didn't like Star Wars in the 80s and hasn't gotten around to liking it, ever, I for one think we should be thankful, we're getting these snarky videos about Star Wars. I thoroughly enjoy them.
